Recently started rewatching while I draw. Anyone else have good taste too?
Twin Peaks Thread

Oh my… Its been such a long time since I've watched Twin Peaks! I've forgotten the eending!
-
The amount of references to that show back then and even now, twenty years later, never ceases to amaze me.
Plus there was that entire Darkwing Duck episode that was a reference to it.
-
Never seen Twin Peaks myself, but…
"Chief Wiggum, don't eat the clues"
"Brilliant! Heh-heh-heh, I have absolutely no idea what's going on."
Sorry, no good Youtube clips.
-
I didn't realize sesame Street did a sketch.
LOL on the 'twin beaks' gag!
Wonderful additions to elements from the show. Such as names, agent talking into recorder using name 'Diane' and the female with the log. LOL -
"Darn good pie" always make me laugh.
-
I don't know if we have any Soul Eater fans in the house, but the world inside Soul's brain with the red imp, I think is a reference to the Black Lodge in Twin Peaks. I mean, it has to be right? Couldn't find a clip on youtube, sadly. Anybody know what I'm talking about?
EDIT: Ok, found something. http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=twin+peaks+reference+in+soul+eater&FORM=VIRE3#view=detail∣=DE401A2C15113E0033EBDE401A2C15113E0033EB

IT'S BACK! (for nine episodes in 2016)
-
I primarily enjoyed watching it several years ago for the wealth of early 90's time capsule elements. But it was neat for that little burst it had.
-
Ah I've forgotten that I loved the opening theme and enjoyed Leland singing. Yeah it was suppose to be an add moment in the show (can't remember, but wasn't that around when Leland started to go crazy?) but dang that was some nice vocals.
And damn it, it will be on Showtime … problem there is I dont' get cable/satilite ect. well if its not until 2016 maybe my rental situation would have changed by tehn (meaning hope I save enough to move into cheeper apt!)

I also just started watching this show. Figured I might as well with it being continued in a couple years. Pretty cool show. The characters are really well done I think.
-
I never finished season 2.
! I stopped after the killer was dealt with….haven't really had any big urge to go back and watch the rest of the season after that.
-
Just finished the first season.
! I really really hate cliffhangers. They pretty much left every single thing unresolved. Still, on the edge of my seat. Without spoiling season 2, is it also left on a similar cliffhanger? Is that why they're making another season?
-
Best TV series ever.

A bit late, but you REALLY ahould watch the rest. Season 2 has some dumb plotlines that go nowhere, but there are also interesting bits and the last few episodes, especially the finale directed by Lynch, are fantastic.
Speaking of which, i 'm worried about all these recent news regarding his return. Showtime announced the new season is gonna happen "with or without Lynch". If he's not back, then there's no point. I hope it's just to keep people talking about it.
-
Didn't see a thread specifically for the new season. Here's a new video with the cast talking about it. Not really any new info about the plot but it's something.
Also Frost released a book yesterday called The Secret History of Twin Peaks that has some plot stuff that happened after season 2 ended as well as a lot of other stuff with lots of pictures of documents and stuff.
-
I'm very excited for this to come out in May! I'm so excited that, aside from the obvious Dale Cooper, other original characters are returning like Audrey Horne and the Log Lady.

Sees thread get bumped
Gets excited
Reads post
Leaves thread in disappointment -
Some new info and images from the set.

New trailer, this one more than just landscape shots.
Predictably it doesn't seem like the Twin Peaks we know and love. I just want more Lynch so I'm fine and even excited about that.

No real spoilers but impressions from the showing of the first two episodes at Cannes. The stuff here just adds to the hype.

[hide]More than one Showtime executive could be overheard bragging (complaining?) about how nobody around the offices had seen even a single frame of the new Twin Peaks, and it seems as though the father of Peak Television had full control over his TV vision, perhaps for the first time ever. As a longtime fan of Twin Peaks, I was initially nervous this revival would pull an X-Files and function as simple nostalgia fuel while being… not great. But two hours later, a stunned crowd left the theater with the distinct feeling that David Lynch had gotten away with something. Whatever your expectations are, they will not be met — and that’s a good thing. Based on the first two hours, it’s safe to say Twin Peaks‘ 18 difficult new episodes will rattle, baffle, and enrage, and that’s exactly what TV needs right now.
To give specific spoilers would ruin the experience — trust me, this is a show that thrives on surprise — but here are a few things you might want to know, spelled out in a suitably vague and cryptic manner.
• For a show called Twin Peaks, the first two episodes don’t spend a lot of time there.
• There are flashbacks to the original series, but they don’t necessarily make anything clearer.
• Many of the Twin Peaks‘ original cast members appear, but surprisingly briefly. In the first two episodes, the new faces get the most screen time — after MacLachlan’s Agent Cooper, of course.
• The best new face… does not have a face.
• The reappearance of one beloved character brought the audience to tears.
• One actor plays two characters, and wears a hilarious wig for one of them.
• There is a shocking moment that is among the scariest things I’ve ever seen on TV.
• The new opening credits may have some viewers reaching for the Dramamine.
• Episode 2 uses a song by the Chromatics that may haunt your playlists for weeks.
• The first two episodes alternate between cryptic, terrifying, and hilarious. There was as much laughter as there were gasps.
• Though advertised as a “new season” of Twin Peaks, these episodes felt more like a revival of ALL of David Lynch’s work. Parts of it felt very Blue Velvet and Lost Highway, with some imagery from Eraserhead mixed in.[/hide]Edit: The author of this article apparently deleted a couple of the bullet points. I guess they gave away more than he was allowed to.

I hope this series is as good as everyone says. Never saw the original.
-
I hope you're going to watch the first two seasons and the movie before starting the new season. The new season is basically jumping right into everything and throwing out names of people you should know so if you don't watch the stuff before you're going to be confused. You'll probably be confused anyway since it's so different but at least you'll know who everyone is.
-
Good to know, thank you. I will definitely check it out.
I see here that it's only 48 episodes. For such a well reviewed show, it's not that many. -
The 48 episodes is including the 18 new episodes. The first two seasons are only 30 episodes. Then there's the movie.
Edit: There's also a few books that, while not necessary, are good if you want more stuff related to it. The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer, Cooper's Memos (not the official title but basically what it is), and the Secret History of Twin Peaks (which actually does tie in somewhat with the new season).
-
The finale is next week. Don't know if anyone is watching it. We're going full speed with this episode.
-
! When Coop came back and got back to his old pace and energy…damn. Then the main theme broke in and suddenly it felt like Twin Peaks was truly back.
-
Sheryl Lee can still scream like no one else.
Seems like we will be getting a season 4.
-
I don't think a season 4 will happen. The ending wasn't really conclusive (though if it's a loop which is implied in some interpretations I've seen then it really will never have an ending) but I don't think Lynch will want to do another season. And I'd prefer something original too rather than another season of Twin Peaks. We'll see though. The more I think about the ending the more I like it.
Also
! that part with current day Cooper leading young Laura by the hand was extremely well done.
