He lost to Inazuma last year? After all that stuff on Marineford and how he played the marines with his position I thought Blackbeard's popularity would be better than that…

Honestly, people seem to prefer his subordinates more.

The simple fact that it took him this long to be nominated speaks by itself.

I'm pretty sure laying low until nominations are almost done was his plan from the start. You know, fate and that stuff.

This year, he will kill one of the forum mods (my money's on Robzilla) and steal their mod powers.

Next year, when Urouge will be inevitably sick and weakened, Teach will appear out of nowhere to deal the final blow and become one of the new admins of AP (after ominously stealing Urouge's admin ability while under a black blanket).

Well him doing that shouldnt be surprising, you all know about his atypical body structure. He has lived twice the life of another, after all.
