Guess we'll see what happens today, but I have to be honest … Normally I'd agree, but this is the Brazil that tied with México, that needed a pentalty kick to get started against Croatia, and that gave control of most of the match to Chile. Any South American team can take them on with proper care and effort. Winner's luck can only get you so far.
Oh I'd love for you guys to be right and for Brazil to get demolished by either of the teams playing today. But seeing how Chile couldn't make it happen, I have a feeling that Lady Luck is supporting the hosts of this tournament. And if Brazil get behind it, they might score a goal or two early on- certainly not shot by Hulk- and then keep the opponent from tying.
As for Uruguay; I hope Forlan is playing today. And I hope even more that some of that 2010 magic will return to Uruguay's team.

I didn't say that it was luck only that got Brazil to the next round. But Chile hitting the pole twice(!) in crucial situations is partly due to luck. Now whether it's due to the absence of luck on Chile's side or its surplus on Brazil's is irrelevant. The point is that Lady Luck sure as hell was present during this first top 16 game.

It means that the level of football won't be the same in later rounds, and in this case Chile leaving is a goddam shame because, unlike Brazil, they actually showed drive and mettle.
So no, it's not conspiracy theories, although the idea of Fifa being corrupted and favoring a Brazil and Argentina final is not even a secret.
