This, in my opinion is the only super smash bros release that we should be waiting for. 4 years in the making, and finally in full production form, Project M is not a demo anymore. They've managed to ADD BACK Mewtwo and Roy, and still have room for 5 more character slots. With 41 characters it's the biggest smash game ever, and with, as far as I've seen, unbeatable melee phyics, the BEST smash I've seen. Melee fans rejoice, the real sequel to Melee is here.

For questions about the video, those are the last characters to be added along with the rest of the cast, completing the roster.

If SSB for Wii U/3DS don't satisfy, the could ask them to make a "remasterd" version.

I found out about this yesterday from a Kotaku article, and installed it/tried it out last night. They put in wavedashing again, though it seems I can't attack or grab until I'm out of the wavedash (unless I'm doing it wrong :/…) and L-canceling feels significantly easier, though my slow and rusty fingers can't do anything consistently anymore. It's a lot faster, less floaty, and more combo-able.

Looking forward to 3.0.

Fuck yeah, been playing PM for a while now and I'm loving it. Super hyped up for the 3.0 release.

I'd disagree that it should be the only release to wait for, though. I'm still heavily hoping for SSB4 to be a pretty good release.

Damn, I finally decided to get Project M once it released but the website is down. I am hype for this though! I'm glad I'll be able to regain some of that melee competitiveness while retaining some additions from Brawl.

Plus, Roy and Mewtwo doe.

I'd have liked it if they coulda given a better ETA, though. I'm sure it'll be really polished, but I am wondering what sort of final touches they're putting in and why it's taking hours to release.

Didn't know Brawl + evolved. I'll get this if I can.

Captain Falcon was slightly buffed from Melee to Project M due to some Brawl-based retained changes which increased his options.

Retains ability to grab foes on the ledge with Falcon Dive, like in Brawl.

Aerial Raptor Boost now spikes foes and propels Captain Falcon with forward momentum if it lands, and can now grab the ledge. When used towards an edge from the ground, Captain Falcon now goes into the ending animation instead of instantly becoming helpless, allowing to grab the edge and come back to the stage.

Falcon Punch can be turned around up to 4 times.

Up and down taunts have switched positions. When using down taunt, he now also speaks a silent "Yes!"

Pressing the up taunt button when a sweetspotted Knee Smash connects results in Falcon exclaiming "YESZ!"

Yeah, it's been worked on for quite a few years now. I started getting into it around 2.5 or so when they had most of the characters set up. (also, I needed something easy to get rid of tripping in brawl, lol).

The best part of Ganondorf's changes though I think is his up-tilt. Volcano kick was remade with something waaaaaaaaay more useful.

Just found out you can play this on Wii U without hacking anything. That definitely rekindled my interest in getting it. Is it available already?

Yep! just download the hackless method. I think that relies on your going into stage builder to activate it.

Sorry, this is actually the first time I've decided to download Project M, so I meant between Brawl and ver. 3.0.

Oh, yeah. Lol definitely. PK Flash got such a major improvement to where it's actually useful. Among other things, too. Ness got a much improved toolset this time around.

I have a question though; anyone else's game freeze up when they try to start a tourney? It works fine once I restart it, but it always freezes at the tourney character selection screen.

Hmm, yeah, doesn't seem to be functioning properly. Rotation works fine, though, hmm.

The plan supposedly is that when they release or get close to what they'll say is their "final" release, they'll port everything internationally. Right now, because there's a ton of stuff changing from build to build, it'd me a mess to code everything for each specific region only and change the coding every single time a new update is pushed out.

Ah :/ Sucks, but I also read that the Wii U from time to time might erase the hackless version unless you pop the SD card out and in when you start brawl initially, so that woulda been a hassle, too.

You don't need gecko. You can load this game completely hackless.

The hackless version still relies on Gecko to start up Project M, the only difference being that it launches it via opening up the stage builder. Noqanky's problem is that it appears that Gecko requires an older wii remote to navigate the menu seeing as gamecube controllers can't be used with the Wii U.

Yes but you shouldn't need to navigate anything to begin with. It loads the game automatically by itself after you load stage builder.

Well, I'm running mine through homebrew, so I can't confirm it, but does it? I'm pretty sure the bootstrap runs Gecko immediately after so that it can relaunch with the codes set. Even the install instructions for the hackless version on the Project M site indicate that it loads into Gecko.

I must have forgotten what happens as its been awhile since ive been around my wii, maybe you do have to press A in a menu first. That sucks if thats true and I'm sorry for giving misinformation.

Found a random controller compatible with Gecko, so I was able to start it up! =D

And damn, that's soo much fun. As a Mewtwo main in Melee, all of the sudden it feels like I'm overpowered. I'm destroying everything left and right just with the ability to move after teleport. Haven't even mastered that float yet.

Same with Ivysaur. It's a bit stranger getting used to the special moves, and I've killed myself using Uair a couple of times. For a long time I was kind of annoyed "wth, you take out bullet seed to add a recovery? That's stupid"

Until I pressed B at some point and obliterated Cpt. Falcon with a Solar Beam. DEAR. GOD. O_O
