Just levelled to 91, the journey TO it was one of the most epic experiences already! Embarking a suicide mission, taking on a whole army head first, rescuing and escorting many refugees, then building a frontline base for your peeps and then DING! Beautiful :3

I couldn't even get in to my server yesterday, there was 5000+ queue, even late at night.
-
They're a lot more mild than the issues in the past. Back when Burning Crusade launched, nobody could even get through the portal because everyone crashed every server. :)
Haha yeah I know. It's definitely an improvement, and it seems it's not even exclusively on Blizzard's end (apparently there were mass DDOS attacks yesterday.)
-
I know, it looked like this
pew pew pewI still can't get in though :(
-
The end game is pretty fun at the moment. Completely geared (except for a belt that never seems to drop!) and ready for the raids to drop on December 2nd.
On a side note, there's a very cool Easter Egg in Talador that people should recognize:
!
His mana is 9001 as well. -

-
Well, I'm getting in the mood for returning to the game! I never even got started on MoP, so there's something to do before I save up enough money for the new expansion.
Though maybe I should wait until the excitement has gone down a bit and the servers are more open? -
The servers are fine now, the fixed the queues by the first weekend.
-
What Cosmic said. I play on the most populated Alliance server (Stormrage), and the queues top at 100-200 people at peak hours.
-
I play on a highly populated server as well, and I've seen no queues since Sunday the 16th.
-
I was raiding in Cata, but skipped out on Panda.
Came back with WoD.. started a week late, but catching up.My main (hunter) got to ilvl631. Molten Core LFR was fun, but easy.
The heroics in general feel easier than early Cataclysm as well.Right now working on getting my prot pally alt to 100. Gonna have to get back into the feel of raid tanking.
-
The heroics in general feel easier than early Cataclysm as well.
Some are harder than others. I thought Auchindoun was pretty easy. Some of the others were more difficult, like BloodMail Slag mines, and another one, but I forget what it was, we were just queuing randomly.
It also depends heavily on your group, how geared they are, and how good they are at not standing in poop, knowing the mechanics and interrupting.
Every time I run with my guild, our tank complains that in pugs he can just keep running and the healers have no problem keeping him alive, while our healer complains that every pug tank is cake to heal compared to him.
-
I've definitely found the hardest heroic to be Upper Blackrock Spire. The amount of randoms I've queued with that have caused wipes due to the massive amounts of things that can be stood in is unreal.
-
UBRS does feel harder than others, but still not at the level of say, Grim Batol near the launch of Cataclysm.
I mean, several of us were first time there at heroic UBRS and still managed to clear with only a few wipes.
Like I said, I never played Panda, so this doesn't feel particularly hard.
The two expansions I played were TBC and Cata, both of which were infamous for hard heroics.
God. TBC heroics were nuts. Some of early Kara raid bosses were actually easier than the harder heroic 5-man. -
Yeah, the early days of Shattered Halls could take several hours. Magisters Terrace was really hard when it was new, though I think they nerfed it at some point.
I don't remember Cataclysm heroics to be all that hard, personally, other than Grim Batol in the early days, mostly because of all the trash.

Well, that's different. I would expect challenge mode to be challenging.
I was comparing heroics to heroics. (to be fair though, CM is a new concept… we didn't have those in Cata and before) -
Oh I see! yeah Cata Heroics were really hard, from that point, I felt they made them easier with each expansion. ALso Panda Heroics Dungeons were fine, just became obsolete real fast in favor of Heroic Scenarios and LFR. I hope these WoD Dungeons stay relevant for a good while, I really love Everbloom, especially that wtf ending <3
-
Do you reckon I'd get banned if I tried to make a guild called 'Lesbianage'?
-
Might as well settle for Lesbibandage
And I just now noticed the two drunks in your sig are the two that got their ass handed to by Chen.
-
Anyone tried PVP yet?
I was actually pleasantly surprised this expansion. I thought the coliseum would be horrible but it's really fun. It's actually too bad I got the Lord of War-title on my 4th try because if you do you're not allowed to enter again for another week… something to remember for this week.
I've never really tried RBGs before either and I think the half-pug team I was in messed things up a bit since a lot didn't follow orders and it got messy but it was a lot more intresting than normal games... and now I've tried some skimrish arenas (I haven't properly PVPed in the arena since season 1) and it's nice. Might mostly be the company though, they're good and it's nice to talk to them. And our class combo is... kind of ideal.
Ashran PVP isn't bad either. It brings back the memories of old AV, even down to the fact where you have to make your own raids. Totally forgot about that, hehe. I wish the queues were shorter though.
World PVP I don't see much of since I play on an RPPVE server but I made a raid with the purpose of killing the flightmaster in Telaar like we used to do back in TBC (Nagrand PVP was fun back then) and we got some allies after us and had a good time for an hour or so. I'm not sure I like it due to the whole mount-while-casting/demolisher thing and the guards spawn really fast and you need a proper tank to kill them... we were only 7 and when 4-5 allies arrived we had to back off since they made sure we pulled guards when we tried to attack them. Bastards.
-
I'm a dirty casual, I don't do no rated PvP
I just enter casual BG, pew pew from behind wall of my dying allies, collect honor and loot and call it a day.
Won a few battles in Ashran yesterday, it's kinda hard picking Artifacts off corpses of hordies when I'm 45 ft away pew pewing. -
Did Highmaul A LOT over the past week, and managed to beat up to Brackenspore via PUG groups. Loving the mechanics so far… but 40 wipes on Tectus before people actually started to stop running into the group with the fire was painful.
-
Tectus is something else, the fights are quite fun, the Butcher mechanics are sweet! I saw my brother and his raid team attempted Imperator Mar'gok….he's a a good final boss….
-
The Butcher's mechanic was pretty straight forward, with controlling stack count
but that 30% enrage mode is really healing intense. Even when we did the mechanic perfectly, wiped a few times due to just sheer damage output.Haven't done Tectus, had to leave the raid to get to work.
Looking at the guild log though, looks like they never got him down tonight. -
Urgh, I haven't done Highmaul yet. I need to. I've also been casual since… well, the end of Cata, even. I didn't raid at all in MoP (LFR doesn't really count)... but since I did raid before I'm a social in the best raiding guild on my server and gosh, it's tempting to start again. Not sure I want to dedicate specific hours after work for it nowdays but it's very, very tempting. We'll see.

Homo. All of it.Still need to try highmaul on druid but lvling warrior
Heard some rumour that arms and fury are so shit max level that prot is the new best dps specc?????Prot "Gladiator" Warrior was pulling more DPS than Fury or Arms, causing wide spread complaints.
But that was fixed with this week's patch, damages of Fury skills were significantly increased. Arms do ok in PvP now too, but I think it still needs some work.By significant I mean:
-
Fury
- Bloodthirst's damage has increased by 20%, and has an additional 40% chance to be a critical strike (up from 30%).
- Execute's (Fury) damage has increased by 10%.
- Raging Blow's damage has increased by 33%.
- Wild Strike's damage has increased by 32%.
-
-
well our warrior was playing gladiator too until this fix and now he plays fury i don't see any difference in his dps so it seems fixed
-
… I just did LFR Highmaul... and... well...
It was easier than a normal 5 man heroic? I can understand Bliz wanting to let everyone experience the content in some form but that was just silly because you don't really experience anything like this! My guildies (hardcore raiders, I'm not sure I want to be that anymore so I'm still continuing as a social mostly PVPer) said you can pug normal raids too and we'll see if I'll do that.
-
Yeah LFR difficulty has become literally tourist mode.
I think random patrolling mobs in Nagrand are actually more threatening than these "raid bosses".You "can" pug normal raids, but thankfully it's still somewhat challenging.
I would say it's easier than normal difficulty raids in Cata, but still quite above what LFR used to be.
It makes sense that it's a bit easier than normal raids of the past, as the difficulty level has been increased to 4 tiers instead of 3. (Mystic being on the same level as Heroic of the past, bumping everything down a notch) -
attempted Normal HIgh Maul, there's so much damage to deal with as a healer, gonna be scared when first going into heroic +.+
-
Yeah LFR difficulty has become literally tourist mode.
I'm a tank, and this is pretty awful. Literally afk'd all the bosses on Highmaul LFR yesterday.
Taking a bit of a break from raiding and such and trying to get these Winter Veil achievements done. I really want to get the progress towards the meta achievement done this year.
Edit: Interesting news. Buying game time might be possible with gold soon!
-

i think kargath heroic is fine, the butcher is tight dps check
-
We wiped on Kargath heroic, because we couldn't get enough people for 2nd night of raid and had to pug the most.
And they mess up, ragequit, sit in queue again, repeat. Sigh. Why would you ragequit after ONE WIPE of boss being down to 10%, for a minor mistake.
It's a freakin' raid for god's sake, the same team could have taken him down the next try.But no, spent majority of time getting people, and gave up after 2 hours.
I think when we have guildies on on the weekend we can clear him. Don't think we can do Butcher heroics though, need to clear all of normal first. Guild leader just wanted to kill heroic Kargath to do heroic trash runs for BoE for the guild, lol. -

If they're DPS they want to be able to tunnel and move as little as possible - I even had a pug once whisper me asking me to Lifegrip them out of anything that was killing them so they could show us all how to DPS - he was around 10th in DPS - blamed us for not popping Hero when our number 1 DPS in her girliest voice pointed out his debuff of exhaustion he logged off.
Tanks often will have varying levels of tollerance for wipes - if they see potential they'll stick around if not they're gone.
Healers are masochistic and usually stick out the worst groups because for some reason their conditioned to find enjoyment in the worst ways.
-
Am 6/7N about to tacke Kargath Heroic on sunday. I've only done it in in the role of a healer, I would like to run as a tank at some point :(
One thing I absolutely discovered to be a blast is Monk Healing! -

I tend to stay unless the group completely falls apart. I never bat an eye to a few DPS going missing. Usually if healers or the other tank leaves though… a good chunk of the group drops as well, because they think it's a fail group.
I'm now working on Imperator Mar'grok on Normal and Butcher on Heroic. Mar'grok is hard because it's a big DPS mechanic fight, and most pugs tend to stand in the mines, and Butcher is a pain because of the sheer damage output and the hard enrage. Plenty of time to get the "Cutting Edge" achievement though, so I'm not worried too much yet.
Edit: Also, this is stuck in my head.

I've decided to treat Warcraft and what's left of it as a weird novel that I can't actualy read, so I'm following this guy on youtube that just digest the lore and then makes videos.
https://www.youtube.com/user/Nobbel87
I do it because the mmorpg gameplay bores me and scares me (of liking it and becoming adicted), but I wanted to know what happened to Illidan, Arthas, and now Deathwing and Garosh.
-
Instead of getting addicted to the game, you may find yourself addicted to the storyline instead after watching those videos.
-
I kind of do, untill there's a mass revive, I get angry (as with american comics) and don't go back untill like 3-4 months, and the cycle starts anew.
-
has anyone here already killed the twin ogres on mystic mode?
-
Hey guys, is WLoD any good? I'm thinking about getting back into WoW lately and I'm wondering if it's worth it?
-
for the unravelling of story its pretty good, specially with friends, but you can take it in at your own pace, every zone this time around has a lot of closure, with a treat at the end for certain ones. I feel its a solid expansion, on par with Burning Crusade. This expansion makes you forget about the level grind to 100 in many ways. I usually would want to play only 30 minutes into the game, but end up seeing i spent 1+ hours, with my busy schedule that's a lot. Right now I am only doing raiding since I find it a good way to hang out with my friends n family, and its been a blast tackling High Maul with your mates :)
Also I'm a music nut, and the soundtrack easliy surpasses any Game OST, I may even go off teh bend and say its my favorite OST:
-

This all depends on what you like to do.
The whole "gear locked behind dailies" thing from Mists of Pandaria has been removed (as has Daily questing in general, besides the 1 Apexis daily per day). Reputations have been reduced to a grind again (you can no longer use the tabard to gain reputation in the dungeons).
On the PVP field, Ashran is a fantastic real-time battleground. I haven't done it much, but each time I have it's been fun.
On the PVE field, the heroic dungeon pool is slightly small… but the dungeons themselves are fun, with actual mechanics within them. Highmaul is a fantastic raid, not too easy, and not too hard. The upcoming Blackrock Foundry raid also looks amazing, and should be a lot of fun as well.
So, yeah, I'd say it's worth it.
On another note, Imperator Mar'gok is a gigantic pain in the ass. The fight is long, and every single group I've been a part of either dies in Phase 3 or Phase 4 (and sometimes before, because somehow people still don't understand not to stand in stuff). The challenge is good though, but I kind of want to have cleared Highmaul "at least" on Heroic before moving on to Blackrock Foundry.

I'd send you a scroll of resurrection (free week to rejoin) but they retired it last year.

The only problem with 5-man heroics is that, there's very little incentives to do them anymore.
Since they got rid of valor points, there's not much reason for me to run them.
Obviously when you get to 100 first, you need to do them for the legendary quest, but after running them once, you're pretty much done. -
Well, there's little incentive to do them after you've geared up, completed all the quests that give you special items from your tavern, get your Garrison special companions and pets, and finish your legendary questline. For some people they'll be done with all that quickly, for others, it'll take longer. I honestly haven't completed all that stuff yet.
-
Yeah, eh, collecting toys and battle pets isn't my thing.
I'd rather they kept it so 5-man was still part of actual progression of your character.
Back when it offered valor and justice points, they were.Even when I was fully T11 and T12 geared, I still ran a few heroic weekly to get the last of valor to be capped for the week. It gave even raiders like us incentive to go run 5-man, which was beneficial for everyone - raiders going to heroics helped others out who were queueing as well. Not only did it make the run smoother, it also helped reducing the queue times.
Apexis Crystals, which basically replaced justice points, are now a daily grind instead of instance gains, and valor was completely removed.
-

Back when it offered valor and justice points, they were.Yeah, it'd be pretty cool if the heroics at least offered Apexis Crystals. Garrison Resources after a certain point aren't needed (unless you're a completion and want to get the achievements for every building).
