1. People who chew gum like they're chewing some metal and always had their mouth wide open
2. people who talks to loud on their phone like the whole neighborhood needs to hear their conversation
3. people who stands behind me to see what I'm doing when I'm using my phone/computer
4. People who change the radio station/song when I'm driving (My car = my rules, you can always take the bus)
5. People you complains about the same thing over and over again

So what annoy you?

When people spit and/or spit gum on the ground. It just seems disrespectful and it's especially gross when it's gum. Have you ever gotten gum stuck to the bottom of your shoes? It's a pain trying to scrape it off!

Whenever someone voices an opinion on a subject they're ignorant on.

For example, I play Tennis and there is a Soccer player who says it is a "sissy" sport that requires no skill. I understand you may not like something, but at least experience it before you bash (or praise, for that matter) it.

1. Yes. I am a big fan of and participant in that thread. It's not too hard to tune out the scum and read the actually well-thought out opinions/arguments from others.

2. Oh. Classroom is a different story. I mean when I say something to someone in conversation, and they go, "Huh? Come again?" There's no way I'm repeating the exact same sentence. Can't do it.

So you're saying it's a pet peeve of yours that we're not allowed to have a pet peeve thread?

It's probably a bit hypocritical of me to post in here, since I said it was a bad to create this thread, but…hell with it. Why not?

2. Constantly being interrupted by someone else while trying to have a conversation (this doesn't really help my already low self-esteem, seeing as how I always feel like I'm the third wheel :/)

People who only listen to one specific genre and refuse to open up to others. Rap haters falls into this one.

This so much. So, so much. My absolute pet peeve. It's unbearable to listen to, especially when people don't even realize that they're making such sounds. My family is pretty bad with this, and for long I had to complain on every single meal and beg them to at least pay some attention to it because it seriously made eating together such a pain. It's just not a good habit at all. shudders

I didn't start out that way, though. Back when I was still in preschool, I didn't pay any attention to it either, but it evidently annoyed the heck out of my friends and my teachers because at some point a few of my friends started complaining about it to my teaches who then started shouting at me for behaving so badly. It felt pretty bad in and of itself, but then my friends suddenly all announced that they would have nothing to do with me if I didn't stop that instant. And I guess I did. Unnecessarily cruel of them, but at least I learned to eat quietly and much more efficiently.

-People who can't into grammar and speling.
-People posting in English as their second or so language and never improve even after years of posting.
-Using emoticons with dashes, ex :-)

-Anyone who implies anything negative about using adblock, ever

And biggest one that includes real life:

This one is funny because I'm the opposite. If I have to use emoticons, I always insist on using the dash, or the nose. The regular way irritates me no end, I somehow feel that the emoticon is anatomically incorrect. I have actually influenced a lot of people who don't bother to change their style. They also use the dash, at least while texting or chatting with me.

The only one I use that doesn't have the dash is ":'(" and that is to do with my OCD of having only three characters for every emoticon.

Isn't that something exclusive to rich people since poor people and most middle people can't afford to do. But inane questions aside. Something that's been annoying really bad is politicians who insist how much they have the best intrest of the people at heart but do or say things that negatively impact people and then try to absolve themselves of any blame.

Im in the same boat I think to some extent as I don't get the hype with pretty much any sport, unless of course it's an excuse for everyone to meet up for some worldwide tournament bender, or it's tied into a hobby.

Don't get me wrong though a lot of it is enjoyable, but when you see these parents abandoned family or loved ones over some game….well that just destroys it for me. Or even just used as some kind of gateway experience to resort to mass fighting and discrimination.

I have an old friend like this. His father completely ignores everyone during the two hours the match is on, and lets out his anger on them if it doesn't go his way. Kind of tragic.

I am at the other end of the spectrum, with a computer programmer/thanataphobic father. Lol

This is like one of those things where we've all had a mate in our lives that does this. That one person you don't risk lending stuff to anymore.

Things that annoy me… well this is kind of weird compared to the pet peeves that have been posted so far but it's certainly the first one that comes to mind for me; I have to say I never understood the whole culture of stars/celebrities and celebrity gossip. I just don't give a damn about some random person's life. It always annoyed me that everyone is expected to know what is going on with American celebrities (even here in New Zealand), it annoys me how ridiculously intrusive the media culture is into these people's private lives, and it annoys me how the meaningless global fascination can more often than not completely ruin the lives of the targets in question. It also annoys me how everyone reacts so predictably to glaringly obvious publicity stunts (cough Miley Cyrus cough) and how well these work on the masses.

More day to day stuff... I really don't like people cancelling plans last minute unless there is a good reason, it feels disrespectful when you've both agreed to set time aside for one another. I don't like people making snide comments about other people for laughs, I've always found it uncomfortable when people try to make jokes at the expense of someone else. Also when people spit on you when they're talking to you lol. There are many things that annoy me about myself too, but I think those're some of my main pet peeves for other people.

-People who say "this movie/show/comic is really good because it's dark". I get that some people prefer dark stories (I personally tend to prefer light-hearted happier stories), but just because it's dark that doesn't make it good
-Fuckin' telemarketers and survey-takers of all sorts. It's about all I ever get on my landline phone.

Is not that bad, I mean I'm a sport fan but I don't go over the top because my team is losing/winning unless I'm at a bar and my team is one of the two last teams standing then I'm gonna shout and get drunk but like you said there are some people who go as as beat up others just because their team lost or ignite fire on stadiums, Soccer players are the worst type of fans (Not dissing just the truth)

Seems lots of other people here can't stand smacking either. And to think WE'RE the rude ones if we ask them to stop. I'm adding that to the list of things that annoy me– being treated like I'm in the wrong, when it's the other person who's at fault.

I also HATE when people are completely oblivious to the fact they're blocking an aisle in the grocery store. Doubly so if they're managing to block it all by themselves.
