Yeah pokemon was supposed to end in Johto but since it became popular they basicly made more games.

On the designs I believe they said at the time of RB Sugimori has 500 or 1000 design prototypes already.

Never said it was an "average". Said it was among the more extreme, in fact, that Togepi was shown super early. First gen doesn't count for much in terms of precedent anyway since they had no idea what they were doing for the games or the anime at the time, whereas now its a tightly orchestrated worldwide company.

As for wait time between gens, for that you just wanna look at the game releases themselves. It's been a 4 year wait twice, and a 3 year wait the other 3 times. (Just looking at years in Japan… not gonna go into months or US release or watever, cause that makes the math way harder.)

Its in general been 3.5 years between gens, and the anime is generally a pretty good guide to that, as their 8 gyms+league have settled on a 3 year cycle more or less... with an ocassional filler arc for a year or so for Orange Islands or Battle Frontier or whatnot.

THings scale out. Joltik and Wailmer aren't at actual size, for instance.

Also, anime scale size isnt always the same as game size. Like half of Ash's mons should be super tiny but are instead dog scale size.

I just downloaded my Hoopa, I had completely forgotten about it until I saw a green light flashing across the room. It was my 3DS and even though it was covered in its pouch, for what ever reason the light was able to shine through. Seeing the light reminded of the event and then the light was gone. I picked up my DS and realized I left it completely dead of batteries since I left Comicon a couple weeks ago. The 3DS was off and when I turned it on the red lights were flashing tell me it was going to shut down. I didn't have any Street Passes either.

So yeah, I think the video game spirits just showed up to tell me to get my Pokemon before I forget. Today is the last day right?

Well last CoroCoro talked about the big silhouete pokemon at the end of the movie, so hopefully we get a game announcement and a reveal of what the pokemon is this month.

So it Corocoro reveals the "new" pokemon without revealing its identity, also it seems they are going to stick Zygarde into an anime special instead of the movie(maybe its in both), I'm starting to think we might indeed get Gen7 next year, man I hope if its Gen7 they somehow "expand" on Zygarde story I don't want it to be ignored ingame, i still think the movie thing is Zygarde but it migth be Volcanion since it also has to appear in the next movie, Zygarde is probably getting a new forme regardless, they tied the Hoenn cover pokemon to the last mega evolution special, Zygarde will have to have a mega or forme change to be the focus of a mega evolution special.

Like I said they seem to be rushing the anime lately, they were going pretty slow and after the 4th gym the pace really picked up, so they migth be wrapping the generation indeed.

Seems there is more than one of the new pokemon or is thats reflection? also its apparently appearing in the anime before the movie.

Edit: People speculating those little things are Zygarde Thousand Arrows(his special move).Apparently they will reveal who is the big shadow and what is the small pokemon next month according to Serebii.

They seem to be making a relation between the small things, Zygarde and the big shadow according to the translation on Serebii forums.

Its not too much, it'll have just made the previous one extremely fast and still within the same console generation.

But that happened with Diamond/Pearl and B/W (and Bw2!), and three of the five finished gens were only 3 years instead of 4, so its not exactly unprecedented. (And if next year does start gen 7, that'll mean four of six gens will have been 3 years and its the normal thing at that point.)

Its mostly jarring because gen 6 had so few monsters… though megas actually pull the number up to around 150, whereas in the past they would have just been late dex new evolutions.

Well, there's been 6 games in the last 7 years… (a skip in 2011 between the two BW games) but it seems like 2015 isn't getting one at this point, so tat'll make it 6 our of 8.

There was obviously going to be SOMETHING for the 20th anniversary... and given that they're starting to tease a brand new thing and speeding up the anime, it seems like it'll be a new gen rather than Z or another remake of Red/Green. (A straight remake seemed unlikely after the most recent game was also a remake though.)

It actually looks like larvae zygarde, has a similar mark in the forehead, and it looked to be the same green.

But assuming new gen, what animals (or kind of table) do you expect for next gen?

I hope another 2 stage bear, a black fire one, a better proportioned gorilla, the ice wolf that Robby deserves, the long awaited tardigrade pokemon. And this is hard, no wonder they put icecream and keychains in the game. Hummingbird? Mosquito? A rotom for musical instruments? Something like the many hands Buddha, like a peaceful machamp? Capibara? Something skeleton based beyond cubone and duskull?

Backtracking to try and findsome old images, it seems a lot of old pieces in a previous thread are no longer around, thats a shame.

I still like grass panda, though now that we've had dark fighting panda its unlikely. A grass/fire jalapeno or jack-o-antern would be great, but they wasted that on a ghost grass (right next to ANOTHER ghost grass).

Alternate evolution for the swords… instead of sword and shield, three swords.

ANd yes, ice wolf would be great.

ANd don't expect the clothing options to change any within this gen... you character needs to be identifiable in the street passes. If they go to a new gen, then things are on the table.

We've had bastidon sure, but its not really triceratopsy. And we've had plenty of other overlap, we've had a ton of dogs, bears, cats, fish and monkeys. Ugh, I still hate all three of those element monkeys.

And the third thing is a griffon.

In all seriousness, I'm still kinda burned out on Pokemon for a new version to play. I STILL haven't beaten OmegaRuby, which you can blame on Smash and other games distracting me.

Lol, so for me, I skipped ORAS pretty much because I was burnt out on Pokemon (as well as strongly disliking certain design decisions).
So now the idea of a new gen coming up is actually exciting and I definitely hope that's the case, for a new gen in 2016.
