Kinda, but also not realy or I would have used the Raichu lol.But I will trade 6 mons that I don't need and the pokemons that I get will be ones that I use on your rematch whose only rule we can't have two of same pokemon, like two froakies you trade back the last one you get until we have 6 different pokemon but we can still have for example a froakie and a froagdier in the same team.

The wonder trade thing sounds awesome but maybe some rules will be useful? So it isn't totally randomly based? I don't know.Not using repeated mons? keeping everything in stage one evolutions?

I actually found the idea of a smeargle doubles tournament hilarious. I'd be down for that.

Other cool idea I just heard if anyone wants to jot it down in other: Metronome tournament. Everyone uses Clefable, and the only move allowed is metronome. xD

That was suggested long time ago, as the "All-Star" tournament. I think it was around the same time we went for Monotype instead and everyone has since been too burnt out to make any competitive teams from scratch. I actually managed to complete my all-star team long ago, mostly for the fun of having all my favorites together.
For reference, Fighting-type only is leading by one vote. As for dates, March 15 is the overwhelming preference. There's still time to let the poll run, just wanted to provide an update.

Hey everyone. Just as a heads up, a lot of people voted 15 of March, but in the end there weren't enough votes to 1) justifiy a tournament or 2) have a winning option.
So for those who showed interest, I'm sorry to say that I don't think a tournament will be happening, and unless enough people show interest it's possible the forums as a whole are just over Pokemon, or following other ventures. I'm in favour of organizing tournaments either every or every other month (or as demand fluctuates), with every other tournament being your regular vanilla OU tournament and every other being a flavour tournament with a more interesting and gimmicky ruleset.
The monotype tournament was pretty fun, but as someone who likes real competitive a lot it felt awfully restrictive, and I had a few moments when I knew I could have done something about the horrible freaks just plowing through my team but that was completely impossible to execute because of the rules that were in place, and that made it very frustrating at times. Vanilla OU is just a meta that is by far the most balanced and works most naturally, and while I know there are some people here who don't care much about it, I think people might be more into normal competitive right now. Especially with Pokébanks and breeding operations being fully operational and pretty much done for everyone (except me because I haven't touched my game since the monotypes ended).
But we totally shouldn't forget all about the flavour tournaments either, because those are pretty interesting in their own right and gather a different kind of a audience than just people who are really into competitive battling. It's just that, those two tournaments can't really be held at the same time because people get awfully distracted and troubled by raising more than just one team and taking care they fight everyone for two tournaments. And since the demand for the gimmick type things is clearly on the decline, we might try something else for a change to see if that would reinvigorate the format at all before switching back to the more "fun" stuff.
I'd really hate it if this died.
I'm still interested in the tourney but i fuckin hate forms. That's why i didn't fill it.
Also, wouldn't be able to participe this month. i wouldn't be able to.
In any case, the 15th is pretty much out of the question now.
Personally, given the difficulty in gathering commitment, I'd actually be in favor of just having ladders with winners every couple of months, and then we switch the rules and reset the ladder. It would take away from everyone having to fight within one week, it would take away from the pressure of using the same team for every single match (unless you want to), and it allows you guys to really just organize fights as you wish and then I'd just do my best to organize rankings and update every now and then so people know who's at the top.
We should do a fight club.
Not too interested in single battling unless there's some special element to it, but I'm always ready for a 4v4 doubles match. I have a few teams ready with varying levels of synergy and coverage
Hey Guys, how about we do a "Coaching" Tournament for April? We would assemble a team and breed them but, here's the catch, we wouldn't use it. We would randomly select (I don't know, picking name from a bowl? xD ) another user who will use our team and we will get assigned a team. We will be at the same time "Coach" and "Battler". At the end of the tourney we can award both best coach and best battler? Maybe even some players may only want to be battlers and not coaches and viceversa.
I like doubles. Preferably VGC style. But I'm also okay with singles.
So, hey guys. I've been poké trafficking (xD) now that i have two 3ds and i can clone pokemóns and i have like 3 boxes of shiny perfect and flawless pokemón so if anyone wants to host tournaments again i can give the prizes (I mean, if you are allright with having cloned pokemóns as prizes).
