Aside from the cropping issue does it make sense to watch the remastered HD version in 720p or even 1080p or should I go with 480p? Are 720 and 1080 upscales?
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

Even if it's not up all the others episodes doesn't work it says it's not available in my country, guess i will wait the subbed version.
-
They don't give an upload time, but it's most likely sometime tomorrow
-
Has anyone noticed that, at least for Fishman Island, the episodes are in lowish quality but when they get to 619 it's all fine and they don't buffer as much.

Crunchyroll will be streaming One Piece: Heart of Gold tv special this week. https://www.twitter.com/Crunchyroll/status/754473259412787200

Crunchyroll will be simulcasting One Piece: Episode of East Blue tv special.

Crunchyroll has finally separated Zou-Whole Cake Island from Dressrosa in their listing on the episodes page.
-
Good. They always seem to do it when they license a new TV special.

Crunchyroll has finally separated Zou-Whole Cake Island from Dressrosa in their listing on the episodes page.
And the Heart of Gold special is no longer the only tab maximized at the top. Thank goodness. This change was waayyyy overdue and was really annoying me.
Looking back at this topic, it took them 13 months to do that. Wow.
Here's to hoping the same thing will not repeat with the new special.
-
I'd prefer if they moved the specials to another page altogether.

Crunchyroll released an english subtitle verison of the Wano arc trailer.
-
Awesome. I wasn't expecting a subbed version to go up.
-
Is this the first time the preview version of We Are has been used since the timeskip?

I think so. Besides for the next episode preview for episode 517 (The first episode of the timeskip.).
-
That's only a thing with Crunchyroll and FUNimation. The version on the franchise's official twitter (and the one that aired on actual TV along with last week's episode) used some BGM from the series:
-
Crunchyroll updated the episode section for the arcs for One Piece. The Reverie and Wano arcs episodes are seprate from the Whole Cake Island episodes.
-
One Piece is finally expanding to new territories: Europe and MENA.

https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2020/02/22-1/crunchyroll-expands-one-piece-territories-to-europe-and-menaThe UK has been kinda screwed when it's come to One Piece so the fact we've gotten Stampede AND this in 2020 is genuinely exciting.
-
The UK now has the first 325 episodes (up until the end of Enies Lobby), which I don't think was the case when they added Wano on Sunday. I wonder if they plan on adding the remasters/upscales for us as well. Presumably the TV Specials are their own license, but I hope we'll at least get any new ones from now on.
We still don't have it as good as the Americans because everything pre-Wano is subscriber-only, but that's presumably down to a lack of competition with Funimation over here.
-
Since the simulcast is coming this week, Toei released an english subtitle recap of the Wano arc so far.
-
It seems crunchyroll got new version of the first 206 episodes (non Special Edition). Originally when the episodes came out on crunchyroll, they had the Funimation gold logo for the series. But now the episodes have the original logo for the series.

i feel like toei is trying to get around funimation on alot of things. especially because some time ago they launched a us branch

Crunchyroll expanding the back catalogue of One Piece episodes to other European countries now, which includes the UK, France, and Germany.
-
Crunchyroll put out a video to celebrate One Piece episode 1000 with 1 second of each episode of One Piece. Plus it have some classic One Piece music.
-
Is 590's shot from the preview, or does Crunchyroll actually have a copy of the DBZ crossover? That was pretty good recap, TBF, even if accurate theme song placement doesn't really work in its favour. All the major story beats and characters seemed to have their moment.
-
I have so many fond memories watching One Piece so watching this recap + music is hitting me in all kinds of feels.
Is 590's shot from the preview, or does Crunchyroll actually have a copy of the DBZ crossover?
Nope. It's not from the preview (or at least not the preview at the end of 589) and 590 is still missing so I bet they're just being a tease and hopes nobody notices ahaha.
-
How odd. I guess not having the rights doesn't preclude them being sent a copy of the episode.
-
I saw the Toriko episodes in there, too. Maybe Toei prepared the video and just let Crunchyroll upload it for us.
-
I was actually a little confused and fought the Funimation/Toei "celebration" livestreams with Rogersbase were going to actually show Episode 1000. Glad I had enough time to sort that out and get ready to watch Ep 1000 on my TV via Crunchyroll through my PS4. My Dad of all people wanted to watch the episode with me haha - who for context, is a 60+ year old boomer who has literally no context for this. He's aware that it's about pirates, a great treasure, and is ridiculously long and popular but that's it. He just heard it was reaching the milestone, and knew it's one of my favorite things I've cared about for a long time. I don't think he's ever watched an anime or has any context for the visual language/style of this haha. He was completely bewildered to say the least lol.
-
Italy here. We're a bit confused 'bout the streaming rights. If they're owned exclusively by Crunchyroll we can't watch the show dubbed (because here Crunchyroll has adopted the "no dub" policy). Ok for the current simulcast of Wano arc but the entirely previous arcs aren't dubbed. Meanwhile we have Mediaset, who ownes the television rights but can't stream the dubbed episodes. So My question is: does Crunchyroll have the exclusive streaming rights in Europe? Or we can hope in other streaming services like Netflix in a near future for the dubbed episodes?
-
Funimation is moving all their anime content over to Crunchyroll. And Sony phasing out Funimation.
-
Some bad news for people that watch One Piece on crunchyroll with commercials. Crunchyroll is discontinuing their ad support starting this upcoming Spring season.

Is this the one where I open this link and then click on an episode to watch?
-
Yep. Pretty much you have to get an premium account on crunchyroll now to watch future episodes of One Piece. Since I noticed when they started putting up Funimation content for some series they have both dub and subs for premium users only.
-
Well, guess I'll check out some Wano episodes in the future when Netflix finally caught up with it.
-
Does anyone know if the dub is going to come to Crunchyroll?

The dub will get to Crunchyroll eventually. Since there is a lot of Funimation backlog that haven't been put up yet (Outlaw Star, Dragon Ball Super dub, DBZ sub, Fairy Tail dub, Fruit Basket *2001 version *).

I can't wait! I think the last bits of the dub I got to see were very early Marineford. I wasn't able to afford too many subscriptions (CR servers a lot of my needs, so I chose it to my sole anime sub for years) or DVD purchases over the past several years. I look forward to seeing more of it when it comes to CR.
-
There alot of the Funimation backlog that haven't been put up yet on crunchyroll I been wanted to watched or rewatched (Claymore is one of example that I want to rewatch since I finished collecting the manga last year.).

Some good news. The One Piece simulcast on crunchyroll is still free with ad support for non premium members.

It doesn't have a exipred date. One Piece is one of two show that I know will still have free ad support simulcast (The other show is Boruto.).
