I didn't expect them to put the episodes from Fishman Island on there, but I don't mind it that much.
i guess technically they never did say where they would pick back up,though it does kind of screw the people who were trying to watch it all the way through.
A real slap in the face for newcomers loyally following Crunchyroll for the episodes continuing beyond Water 7. I doubt they want to jump ahead 100+ episodes.
Good news is that Crunchyroll is back to delivering HD episodes.
It's funny though. Back when Crunchyroll announced they were going to simulcast One Piece, I told myself that it would take about a year for them to upload all 600 episodes. I'm sure Toei and/or FUNimation are related to the production delays.
Anyway, here's some interesting news.
Hey guys.
So I received an email regarding OP. Just to keep you guys updated, due to production delays 326+ will be uploaded in late August.
Even though we suggested at the panel we would have 517-618, we ran into some unexpected issues so I'm afraid this is the new upload schedule:
Next week (7/26): 542 or 543-574 (HD, w/ next ep previews)
Week after (8/2): 574-618 (HD, w/ next ep previews) and 619-628 are planned to be changed to the broadcast version with the original opening. After 8/9 is TBD for now.
Sincere apologies for the inconvenience.
If I'm reading this right, this means that not only does Crunchyroll have the rights to air the next episode previews, but they supposedly have Hands Up as well.
That's really dissapointing, I really wanted to rewatch thriller bark and saboady in HD. I guess funimation made them delay it because of the dvd release or what?
As has been mentioned before, they are up in funi's site, not the most ideal for everyone I understand though.

No crunchyroll just has issues with getting there content available quickly, why would Fishman Island be up? if they didnt have the eps, I heard Naruto & Bleach took forever to get fully up too

Actually the Thriller Bark episodes are on Hulu as well, right now the first 7 episodes.
Did not see that, thanks for the heads up, though I doubt many would want to deal with the commercials.
Some minor news. Episodes 1-325 now have their next episode previews.

A lot more are probably coming soon. I've been doing the translation for a bunch of them.

Will they switch over the 326+ episodes to Toei material which should be HD and subs that aren't burnt in? To have everything after 207+ in HD would be good too

I don't know to be honest. I'm just doing previews right now and the raws I get suck but I don't know what they'll do for final encodes.

There's your answer to that!
This is really awesome.

Yep, Hands Up is on 591-618, but still absent from 619-628 (for now).

Yes, finally!
I even checked to see if Mirai Kokai was added in 207, but it's absent. I guess that ending's a lost cause.
Episodes 207-231 are now in HD on Crunchyroll.
Still using Eternal Pose though.

Also, they're using softsubs on those episodes. Yes!
So let me see if understand this, they release the episodes first, and then the quality later?

Well that does it! If they fixed "Hands Up!" but didn't switch to Mirai Kokai (which I just confirmed on my Ipad) then this ED is officially stuck in legal rights hell. At least Crunchyroll and Toei are making efforts to give us consistent quality.

They probably just wanted to get the episodes out as fast as possible, and now that they're "presumably" unable to do 326-516 at this moment, they're updating the 16:9 episodes that they had in 480p to 720p.
Ah I see, thanks for the info
Here's the odd thing about Mirai Koukai: It aired on TV Japan, in HD, with FUNimation subtitles. Hell, I even uploaded a clip from that airing to dailymotion. Really not sure what's going on with it.
There's the answer to 326-390.
Seems 326 is coming out this upcoming weekend though… since it says "5 days from now" in the video library.
I have a question, the episodes 517-578 are they available in 1080p or just in 720p ?
I ask because i have a french IP thus i can't see because the license of One Piece does not belong to the Crunchyroll in France.
Thanks in advanced.

All of them are in 1080p :)
I have another question, to download on the Crunchyroll's website do I need to have a account premium (so paying) or are the episodes free and so everyone can download them without an account ?

The episodes can't be downloaded with a subscription… well not legally at least.

You dont download the episodes, rather you stream them. But yes, they are free free for everyone, and you do not need a premium account to access them.
So the episodes that we seen on website such as nyaa are downloading illegally ?
Because we can olny watch them on streaming ?
And the one who download them do it with a illegal software ?
Thank you very much for your answer :)

I'll field this one.
The only way to watch One Piece legally outside of getting the DVDs is to stream it. The legal channels to stream are Funimation's site, OnePieceOfficial.com, Crunchyroll, and Hulu. Crunchyroll is the only site that offers the episodes in HD.
A site like Nyaa is a torrent site thus it is not legal. The only way to download a torrent is to use a Torrent Client program. While they do have these programs to download off the internet for free and the software itself is not illegal using it download copyright material is.
Usually among anime communities it is encouraged to always support the commercial release so we can have legal access to more material but I'm also aware that when it comes to other countries it's a rather dubious situation.
In this instance I would encourage you to do your research, especially on the internet laws in your country, before making any decisions on something that could have potential legal consequences.

Aren't the episodes on the funi website HD, well not all but, or is that a lie?

Those with premium subscriptions get the episodes in HD.

Ah, OK. I indeed do have the premium subscription. Though it stops 3 to 4 episodes into the new world /return to sabaody. That's where subscription to crunchyroll comes in handy.
yes, so if i have understood, One Piece is free, no need account for watch on the Crunchyroll's website in 720p or 1080p.
And the Crunchyroll does not offer the possibility to download these episodes, only streaming is possible.
Thanks for your help.
So… Crazy Rainbow is absent from the 284-310 episodes that were just updated to HD on Crunchyroll. That's... odd.

Probably has to do with the rights with that boy band that got one of the endings removed. Bah. They could have at least replaced it with Brand New World.
They had Crazy Rainbow up before when they just had DVD encodes. Really don't see what could've happened to keep them from having it. Just so odd.
Yeah, 284-310 now have the Strawhat version of We Are! as the opening. Pretty weird considering that they were able to put 'Hands Up' back in.

Could they have least replaced it with a prior widescreen, HD opening?

Wow, and here I thought the stuff that was out on DVD was "safe". So what this means is pretty much our chances of getting any of the OP/ED on the DVD releases uncut is still a gamble depending on the licensor's stand at the moment.
They've started 391+, which makes it look like the entire catalogue will be up by the end of the year (only thing pushing it back that far is 362-390, which they've announced will come up much slower, with breaks).
Worth noting: We lost the We Are cover and Share the World songs on Crunchyroll.
That's awful. I hope that doesn't mean FUNimation didn't get them.
This is really unfortunate. I hope the simulcast rights for those openings can be obtained at a later date or else that's just one big shit in the oatmeal.
Worth noting: We lost the We Are cover and Share the World songs on Crunchyroll.
Yep.
I hope you all like Jungle P, because that is the de fecto opening for 100 episodes straight now. In the next week or two we'll see if they actually decide to mix it up with Kaze wo Sagashite. No great loss if it's not included, but that would mean yet another 30 or so episodes of Jungle P…
Worth noting: We lost the We Are cover and Share the World songs on Crunchyroll.
Everytime I hear a song is lost on Crunchyroll I get more concerned for the DVD release. Even though, from what I understand, the licenses to stream and the ones that Funimation has for their own content are different it still bothers me when "(insert name here) J-Pop Group" here wants certain contractual things to happen to their music outside of Japan. What's really frustrating is this seems to be specifically a Toei thing since I've never come across these problems with Bleach, FMA, and Naruto which all tend to use quite a few J-pop groups. It's also disheartening because it has me checking the Hulu/Funi sites to see if they still have their openings up (which they do). In the end I tend to lay blame on the Japanese business model because it is my understanding that at times whomever is working out the details of what comes here and what doesn't our market is never the priority so 5 years ago Funi/Hulu got the clearance to have the opening, but now it isn't okay for Crunchyroll to have it.
SMH
New update. It seems like every episode of One Piece has their respective episode descriptions now.
410-516 (excluding 492) are going up tonight. All that's left is the 361-390 gap.
Edit: Opening 12 skipped (Jungle P runs until Marineford), and Opening 14 skipped (One day runs from Marineford to the timeskip).
