Phew, round 3 really had a bit of everything. Close matches, landslides, snoozefests, brutal fillers and of course…amazing campaigns! Pretty great for everyone who isn't a parrot. I guess.

But anyway, it's time guys. We are one tiny round away from the srsz business tier of the Arlong Park Character Tournament - The Semi Finals! Our 8 greatest contestants are merely one battle away from making AP history!

So let's take a look at the terrifying matchups:

Well he has the slight handicap of being dead for 400 years and (aside a brief mention and a tiny memorial to him this arc) not having shown up in the story in a decade.

On one hand, I have no idea about the first match.

On the other hand, I feel pretty good about Zori, Jinbe and Brook.

The first one is too hard, I love Doflamingo to death but I watched Nolands flashback few days ago and it almost made me cry so I dont know..
In the second I am voting for Jinbe, I just love the dude, besides, Whitebeard had his time so.
The third is hard as well, Zoro is cool but Garp is just… garp.
The foruth is easy, Afro Rockstar for the win.

Also amused how Buggy once again has to deal with Brook. I'd say that's the one match that seems fairly difficult to choose.

I probably will go with Whitebeard. Jinbe is great but I don't know if I can vote against Pops.

Not sure yet. Doflamingo would make a great finalist, but I really like Huon's campaigns so far.

Super difficult, never thought I would say that. Zoro is pretty great currently and he even got some cool campaigns this year.

Brook vs. Buggy-Geez. Buggy vs. Eneru was too hard to decide, but this? Not only are they both amazing, they're both part of the OtoBugFro trio of yore. Probably gonna support whoever's losing at the time.

Sooo… I was pretty happy with the results of the third round. Out of all the remaining contestants, Doflamingo is the only one that I wouldn't like to see as the winner of the entire tournament. The other seven are all characters I like quite a lot; and of course the fact that Noland is still in the race is awesome!
So, what I was hoping for the next round (this round) was that Noland would get a relatively easy match, if that's still possible at this point, so that he might have a chance of advancing once more (although that's getting more and more unlikely this far in the tournament. But hey, I can dream, right? :P); and that Doflamingo would get a very difficult match, although I'm not sure who would be able to take him out after he defeated Kuzan, so that there wouldn't be anyone in the semifinals that I didn't like.

And then I saw the match-ups for this round...

Well, I guess I better start making campaigns again. I hope I won't run out of creative and original ideas.

It's kind of sad really, but 2010 completely ruined Whitebeard as a tournament contestant for me. He's probably my favourite OP character to date (sans perhaps Ace) and every time I read Marineford I just can't help loving him with all of my heart, but I find zero joy in voting for him anymore. His march to utter domination back then was so convincing and so incredibly fun that it fully exhausted his tournament attraction, and seeing how pretty much nothing he can pull off can compare to the exhilaration that his advances caused back when the arc was still fresh and everyone was intoxicated by it… it just leaves me cold.

Thinking of it almost makes me tear up, actually. I want to love and support him so much, but I can't. There just isn't any feeling to be tapped into anymore. Downsides of a lengthy commitment.

Pretty much the same for me, though what you describe is how I feel about characters from old arcs that haven't showed up in years, in general.

For example I don't watch Alabasta anymore, because I've seen it all as a teenager several times in a row, and it's become something of an "old hat" for me. Not bad by any means but worn out due to age and new things happening.

Though I remain nostalgic about the animation from back before the timeslot switch but that's another can of surströmming entirely.

Easy votes for DD and Whitebeard. Jinbe is so overrated I don't dislike him that much, but his poor performance at the war…(yeah, yeah the water was frozen and he couldn't shoot kamehamaha's :ninja:).

Damn, Zoro vs. Garp I don't think I'll ever be able to vote against Garp, but Zoro needs to win this years tournament! wouldn't mind if Grap wins it though. Saying it now! one of them is going to be this years champion!

Don't care about the annoying ones, but I guess brook is still a better choice than buggy.
