I don't know whose "Game of the year" is better, Gamespot or IGN.
Legend of Zelda: A Link between Worlds

By the way I've been adoring this game. The dungeons feel so much more constantly active and interconnected than any other Zelda game, which are usually room-oriented
It's basically like every dungeon is a Water Temple, except instead of being frustrating it's a smooth and cohesive ride. So far of the real meat, I've beaten the Dark and Ice Palaces.

Mmm lick those tears up

I completed this game 100% in normal mode a few days ago.
It was awesome. I had so much fun. Definitely one of my favorite Zelda with OoT and ALttP.
It's just a shame you unlock Hero Mode only after you finish the game. I'm too good at Zelda games to be challenged by the normal difficulty. -
We're finally getting this game next week. That should line up perfectly so right when I finish Bravely Default I can go out and get it.

Bought this game 3 days ago and finished it just now…. I loved it!
It was truly a nice nostalgic feeling, since I haven't played a Zelda game in a long time, Ocarina of Time being my very first actually back on Nintendo 64 (which I had to get for 3DS as well, just because) and I must have played Minish Cap on Emulator a few years ago, so I totally digged the good ol' puzzle dungeons and item hunting
10/10 for me, just totally worth it, but still sad it's already over...

Oh chicken challenge why do you have to kill me inside. That 999 seconds in the chicken dodge game is the worst… bye bye 100% even I can't be that obsessive about it only got to 237 after quite a few tries...

Yup pretty much summarizes my feelings.

Yup pretty much summarizes my feelings.
–-----------------------------------------------------So I've reached Lorule for the first time now and I'm not sure if I'm just getting too smart for Zelda games or if the dungeons are especially easy and short.
Not that I'm complaining cause it's nice to have a game that's a bit lighter on playtime after coming off a long jrpg.Aside from that the game is a blast and I'm in love with the "turn into a wall painting" mechanic. I'm not sure yet what to think about the renting system but for now I think I prefer the freedom it offers compared to that rewarding feeling that you normally get from getting your new shiny item in a dungeon.
-
The dungeons are definitely really short and (overall) easy, though some of the extra dungeon reward items require a bit of extra cleverness to find. Also dat Ice Palace.

Dat Ice Palace indeed. Cool dungeon and all but that thing kicked my butt, maybe I should have done other dungeons before this one.
That boss was actually tough. Oh well at least I can spam more items now next stop the woods. -
Ok just took the time to finish this including getting everything I can, all upgrades, heart containers, bottles and what not.
Which in all in all was a bit too easy I think. I didn't even search too hard for any heart pieces. I was only missing 2 in the end that were in caves I just forgot to bomb free/unblock with titan mitts. As such I think the only true "challenge" in this game is the ~17 minutes chicken dodging.
Well ok I guess there's hero mode or the no heart increase runs but that's not necessarily the kind of difficulty I was looking for.I wish some of the extra stuff would be a bit harder to obtain. Especially remembering arkham city's riddler trophies which had some pretty smart ones forcing you to try stuff and use your head. Maimais I guess were ok but since I did do them at the end it wasn't all too challenging just going to every map piece systematically and checking for the sound, instead of wondering which one's I've already gotten.
I liked that they finally made rupies worth something. I was starving for them almost right until the end(Probably would have been fine if I did the tower arena thing earlier).
I love the freedom you have in tackling every dungeon, I hope this trend comes over to the 3ds zeldas(considering the interviews it seems very likely it will).
The whole Lorule/Hyrule dichotomy was pretty cute and the ending!I don't know it's another really good zelda game, it's fun and satisfying to play and anything I'd have against it seems just really nitpicky.
Oh yeah my favorite dungeons where the desert and swamp palace. We're finally getting this game next week. That should line up perfectly so right when I finish Bravely Default I can go out and get it.
I can't help but notice that it's going to be the exact opposite for me. Finished this today and starting Bravely Default tomorrow night.
