This show is pretty much the japanese version of "kick-ass" except it's way more light hearted. There's only 2 episodes out and I'm already in love with it.
If you need more convincing here's the kick ass Op:
The whole OST is pretty damn good.

I've only seen some of the art, but I'm getting a ridiculous Viewtiful Joe feel here.
I saw the first episode last week (about to watch 2) and it feels very low-key, almost like Tiger&Bunny but without the actual heroics. Or maybe that'll change with ep 2?

It's really nothing like Viewtiful Joe (which the world could use more of), aside from that kick ass suit design.

There is some "heroics" alright. It's more like a comedy series, I don't expect him to ever actual be a real superhero, but I do expect someone to eventually dress up in super villain costumes and try to fight him.
He just needs to BELIEVE IN THE HIM WHO BELIEVES IN HIMSELF.
I do expect someone to eventually dress up in super villain costumes and try to fight him.
I can't imagine how silly it'll look if we get a villain wannabe trying to fight the hero wannabe. :P
I enjoyed the first 2 eps especially his speech in the first one.
I wonder if the "umbrella problem" is a real thing in Japan IRL.
^ Last I heard, umbrellas were a common way to harass/bully someone in Japan.

Is a real thing all over the world, and something that nobody cares! (You never lost a umbrella? Chances are that somebody took it)
Is like stealing a pencil or something. That is why is funny that he was so workout, because of it.
At least the cop had a emotional connection with that umbrella.
Well if nobody is sold on this series after this episode, I-I just don't know.
Everything about it was great, I couldn't stop smiling the whole time.
! Now he's getting training, he's one step closer
I'm really enjoying this series. Samurai Flamenco's speeches are the best and I love that it lokes like like he is going to become a true hero little by little.
Pretty good show, though I wish I knew more about toku shows.
Oh my god, Episode 4.
! SAMURAI PUNCH! SAMURAI PUNCH! YES!
! And the Idol is annoying but awesome, I was grinning this whole episode. This show is gonna give me smile lines
Good episode.
Someone needs to make a Flamenco Girl kicking balls gif.
I'm not really sire why but the whole justice speech sounded pretty awesome. And so is the music.
Another Solid episode, the Double Flamenco kick topped it all off. The next episode is called "Capture Samumenco" though, so I think things are gonna get even more intense next chapter.
I'm not sure what to think about this new development.
It was completely unexpected but the show is gonna be so different from now on. We'll have to wait and see.
Fantastic episode. Didn't expect that.
! Guillotine Gorilla … What a ridiculously awesome idea !
Definitely one of my favorite anime this season.
Welp, they managed to ruin a perfectly good original anime in 5 minutes. I really hope there's a twist that reveals that crap didn't actually happen or something. Still watching though.
Granted, they did complete most of the early plot threads, what with Samumenco cleaning up the city and people accepting him as a hero. It would've been a given that they'd head in this direction to make it a truer Tokusatsu/Kaijin story, but there was very little build up (if any) and the Guillotine Gorilla was just too ridiculous.
If he only became stronger or something, it'd be more believable… but he went and grew metal studs/screws, hair, a fucking guillotine in his abdomen, and had a bomb. Wut?
This latest episode! What?! Can they do that?! What?!
Whhhhhhhhhhhhat?!
Okay… I've calmed down. That said, yeah, they probably could've used more build up to this. I don't know, I'm sure this was the reaction they were going for since there's no episode preview.
I haven't freaked out watching a show in years. Holy crap.
Chance of the show jumping the shark: 90%
Scratch that, it's more like 97% now. The only thing that's missing right now is Saitama.
When I heard that this episode would shock me I expected Goto to die or something. Halfway through the episode I started thinking that Masayoshi being Batman was the big twist everyone was raving about, because that was a total surprise. But I was wrong.
On one hand, I'm glad that the show is now officially more than just Kick-Ass: The Animated Series. And I do think it's cool in a cheesy way, the whole thing reminds me of Getter Robo. On the other hand, this came so completely out of left field that I don't think anyone could possibly have seen it coming, so in a sense it's a slap in the viewer's face. If there was even a tiny bit of foreshadowing to this, it wouldn't feel so out of place, and people wouldn't be worked up. But there was none that I noticed. Then again, maybe the surprise is supposed to be half the fun.
In any case, Samurai Flamenco has me intrigued and I'll definitely keep watching. Next week can't come fast enough.
You could say that Masayoshi saying that this looked like a final chapter at the begining of the episode was foreshadowing a big twist. But no, it's not enough.

I thought this show was called Licensless Rider: the Animation. Isn't Saitama some cheating B-class hero?

Now that you mention it… crossover fanart would be pretty cool.

Right, things going too well is generally a hint that something bad is going to happen, but a junkie turning into a cyborg gorilla with a guillotine for a stomach was still outside anyone's expectations.
Speaking of which, it looked like the drugs were going to supress the man's transformation. I hope they will expand on this.

I'm pretty sure they will. The guy didn't want to transform, so I assume KT triggered it. I'm starting to think Konno might be behind it.
We're just supposed to be left in shock and awe right now, which is why there was no episode preview.
I just started following this show today and enjoyed the hell out of all the episodes! Then, the last five minutes of today's episode happened…
I mean, I was expecting super-villains with gadgets to show up, or anything that isn't outside the established setting...but this? I'm still gonna watch it weekly, and I know I'll still be entertained but this sudden shift of genre still isn't a good sign.
I'm seriously hoping that King Torture won't turn out to be the same robber who murdered his parents...
...
I didn't jinx anything.
I'd hope KT isn't the same person who murdered is parents.
i thought the point of that was Masayoshi didn't have a hero's backstory. There was no chance of him solving his parents' murder.
The current events are kind of like a shocking monkey's paw.
Ever since I heard its name, I knew this anime was going to be awesome. And I wasn't wrong.
EDIT: WHAT THE FUCK WAS UP WITH THAT LAST EPISODE
Maybe they inhaled some of dat meth that flew everywhere.
!
Episode 8 summary, google translated from the official website's preview:

It was no dream or TV stunt.
I knew it. Let the madness begin :D
What could be more despicable than stealing an umbrella?
! Buying a store's entire supply of apples, that's what.
Twas the act of an apple fangator.
Great episode this week.
I laughed a lot at those "crisis meetings" with the prime minister.
That show is just too awesome.
The lackluster, uninspired, halfhearted meetings with heroes doing the gruntwork remind me of–------One Punch Man. :O
And we even have a kaijin supervillain with various ridiculous monster designs and names and quirks.
Went into this show 100% blind and episode 7 just fucking floored me. I have no idea where this is going for a 24 episode series, what to expect any time soon.
Just. UH. It's really good until then I guess?!
I'm waiting until the end to pass judgements on the overall story, but all I can say is that this anime is QUALITY central.
That said, episode 8 was hilarious. The horse and cobra's plans had me in stitches.
I'm really curious as to how KT's plan is supposed to work here, and what is this "quota"?
Last note:The new weapons and costumes are awesome. They're going full HAM with the office supplies and I love it.
So after that twist, they went to a nonchalant episode with some amusing villains. That's… okay? I dunno what I think anymore, guess it's gonna take more than one episode to see where this goes. Also that was a weird focus on Goto's foot at the end there.
That snake was just too evil
Does anyone else think King Torture is a nerd just like Masayoshi? He sends out one monster each week after all (as in, one per episode). And he refers to himself as the 'source of all evil'… yeah.
One more week and I still have no idea where this is going. For a moment there I thought the blie girl was going to get killed.
And I second the idea of Torture being a mad superhero fan that just liked the villains more.

Yeah like I legitimately have no idea where this show will be in another five episodes.
"They poisoned the water with a serum that makes people gossip!" "I bought out all the apples at market!"
This is going hard Showa tokusatsu at least– incredibly authentic. I was expecting everything to go grimdark after the fucking GUILLOTINE GORILLA so bloodily decapitated guys. Instead we get a completely straight faced sincere take on kamen rider.
WELP. Shit has officially gotten real.
! Looks like News guy went full evil, but him asking the manager to marry him as his last request was still kinda sad.
I feel like this show is a descostruction that isn't sure on how it wants to deconstruct the genre, like a parody or witha serious tone. The result is something really weird, but I'm liking it for some reason.
And it's 2-cours if I remember correctly.
It is 2-cour, and KT is mimicking Toku shows which is really odd. Well, there's a lot of odd things about KT, like how his technology is more advanced than our and why he considers Masayoshi the "hero".
I am confident now we won't be able to fully judge it until we're closer to the end of the series. These first 10 episodes have continued to make such giant leaps and wide turns that I don't think one can fairly criticise it for doing anything right and wrong because like
Who the fuck knows where we'll be three episodes from now haha
I think this is great though? I think I really like this? It's so precariously perched on whether it will ultimately go down in flames, or be pretty fine though. I think we can all agree on that.

! not fully yet. This was a surprising episode though. It really is no way to tell where it goes now.
! mari confirmed for getting blown the fuck out.
! Mari confirmed for told.
! Moe and goto are best. Masayoshi is iron man
