The Summer season ended , so let's be nostalgic and talk about our memories of those distant beautiful(or not) moments!
**So what anime did you really watched? Which one do you dropped? which ones were a big disappointment but you still endured till the end? Which ones were a delightful surprise? And which ones will you miss and hope for a next season?

The chart, to remember this good season:**

      !
      For me:
I Watched until the end(or still watching):

      • Watamote (What a good surprise, Excellent. I hope later they make another season).
      • Danganronpa (I don't really liked it, but it was overall OK).
      • Free! (Really good series, it had female fanservice, but I don't have doubt about my sexuality!😉:ninja: So it was irrelevant for the overall enjoyment).
      • Gatchaman Crowds (It had catchy opening and ending songs, it had some good parts, but after watching half of it I realized that nothing of importance was really happening, and the main character is super weird, not in a good way. But in the end was a good, almost OK, watch)
      • Gin no Saji (Great and relaxing series! Now waiting for the next season!).
      • Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi (Really great surprised. I really liked this anime, everything was done really well, except the ending, the last seconds of it, I hate when they do this kind of endings. I'm really Hoping for a second season in the future).
      • Love lab (Another really great surprise. Excellent anime, Frivolously waiting for a second season).
      • Rozen Maiden(2013) (Why did I like this anime so much? I don't really know, it seemed like nothing really happened, but it was fucking enjoyable nonetheless. Waiting for a second Season).
      • Senyuu (Season 2) (As good and funny as the first Season. I don't think a new one will be made, but one more is always welcome).
      • Stella Jogakuin koutaou-ka C3-bu (I really liked sometimes, but the last 3 or 4 episodes, specially the last 2, were utterly disappointing. Overall was a Ok watch).
      • Kingdom (Season 2) (Very Good, but the manga is still thousand of times better. Will continue to watch!)
      • Shingeki no kyojin (Excellent anime overall, really well made. Super Waiting for a second Season, I hope it will only take 1.5 years for it. However, still disappointed in how the last episode was treated).

I Dropped(If you think one of those is overall good, please tell me, I will try to give it another chance, sometime in the future. This time I will marathon it):

      • Blood Lad (Not really funny)
      • Coujigen Game Neptune (Only good point was the fanservice, and it wasn't even that great).
      • Fantasista Doll (Bad imitation of Sailormoon with fanservice)
      • Gifuu Doudou!! Kanetsugu to Keii (It felt boring)
      • Inu to Hasatmi wa Tsukaiyou (Not really funny)
      • Kiniro Mosaic (How can an anime have such a great first episode and in the next one turn into a generic school slice of life with irritating cute little girls? I don't know, but Kiniro did it)
      • Kitabuku Katsudou kiroku (Nothing really catched my attention, and everything seemed pointless)
      • Maji de Otaku na English! Ribbon-chan (I really laughed and laughed when watching this anime, unfortunately it wasn't made with that intention)
      • Makai Ouji - Devils and Realist (It seemed a little interesting, but not that much for me to care(at least at the time), and the boy love insinuations didn't helped)
      • Servant x Service (At first I really liked, but the relaxing slice of life feeling, that it was giving me, for some reason, disappeared and I decided to drop it)
      • Uchouten Kazoku (For some reason I didn't really liked the first episode and decided to drop it)

Overall this Season was a really GREAT ONE, I now hope that the fall is as good or even greater!

Attack on Titan was a 2-cour anime, so it started in the previous season to this(spring season) and ended in this one.
          It is in this chart:

          !

I too want for a second season of Free! but a prayer circle O_O!

Not sure why we'd need two threads for a fairly mediocre summer season.

I fully watched only five shows. Just a few words, in my order of preference:

Watamote - instant favorite. a somewhat realistic view of a closed and anti-social person. funny and eventually emotional without being cheesy. great performance by Izumi Kitta as the main character. highly recommended, although it seems some people get offended when it hits too close to home.

Danganronpa - having never played the game, i liked the anime a lot. especially its surrealistic atmosphere and over the top characters that were never taken too seriously. a story that kept me curious all the time. the end was a little bit anti-climatic. i've heard from game players that things were skipped, but i never felt like i was missing anything. everything essential to understand the plot is there.

Genshiken Nidaime - the new generation is not as awesome as the original team, but still a pretty good series. Madarame is excellent as always. the excessive Hato focus dragged down a couple of episodes (i can't get used to the floating girl inside his head). on the other hand, the new voice actors didn't bother me at all.

Kimi no Iru Machi - another show i wasn't familiar with the original source, although i was aware of the rage and jokes. watched it because i'm a fan of director Yamauchi, and wasn't disappointed. thought he did a great work with what he had (12 episodes to tell a story of an unlikable couple of main characters, and full of plot conveniences and coincidences).

Gatchaman Crowds - only show i regret watching. uninspired and poorly used cast, including the biggest Mary Sue of a lead in a long time. thin attempt of social commentary. just boring most of the time and the end was terrible.

Still planning on watch Kamisama, Spoon, Uchouten and SnK in the near future..and that's it.

I watched around 11-12 shows, and dropped the rest after one to eight episodes. The best show me and some of my friends agreed on is probably Uchouten Kazoku, since everyone seems to include in their favorites list. A close second for me would be Gin no Saji, but it's still got nothing on the excellence and perfection that Uchouten showed from midway to the end.

Free! - Was good. Interesting. Kinda gay at times.

Kingdom 2 - Good shit as always.

Gin no Saji - Great show. Intersting, funny, relaxing. Can't wait for next season.

Shingeki no Kyojin - One of the best shows in a long time.

I probably will give Uchouten Kazoku one more chance. In reality I didn't really liked the first episode, and because I had already a lot of series to see, I drop it. Let's see if it gets better.

My recap in 3 tiers based on how much I enjoyed them :

High : Shingeki no Kyojin, Majestic Prince, Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi, Blood Lad, Kingdom S2

Mid : Free, Gifuu Doudou, Gin no Saji

Low : Hyperdimension Neptunia, Gatchaman Crowds, Makai Ouji, Inu to Hasami

Surprise of the season : Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi
Disappointment of the season : Gatchaman Crowds
Favorite Opening song : Gatchaman Crowds
Favorite Ending Song : Shingeki no Kyojin

As for the long running anime, Space Brothers and Hunter X Hunter are still as awesome as ever.

Will comment on stuff I've finished so far, only done with about half my summer list.

Gatchaman Crowds - Easily Anime of the Season. Hope they do more with this in the future, Hajime is one of the most refreshing and fun MCs I've seen in a long while. Soundtrack is amazing too. Love the art style as well.
Gin no Saji - 2nd best anime of the season. All around good feels. Will watch s2 and maybe pick up manga.
                        Free! -
Watamote - Surprisingly good adaptation and still miserably relatable. The alternate ED songs were all great, and episode 11 was sweet. Though it prolly will be our fault she's not popular when the western fans responsible for buying the manga volumes skimp out on the Blurays.
Shingeki no Kyojin - Pretty meh adaptation. You can tell where they put their budget, and the last episodes had too much filler. At least they're improving some stuff with the Blurays. They shoulda ended it like how it happened in the manga. The "Shingeki no/Attack on _____ vids" were the most fun thing.
Blood Lad - Started out interesting and entertaining but by the second half I was lost. Was fun and colorful though.

Still watching: Rozen Maiden, Senyuu, Brother's Conflict, Hakkenden, Servant x Service, KKK, Dog x Scissor, and Danganronpa

I didn't pick up any new shows (still trucking along with One Piece and Uchuu Kyodai) but I did catch up on Railgun S. The whole first arc covering the Level 6 project was great, nice and dark with more action than I had expected. Some head scratching moments (Toma's fight with Accelerator was a little too over the top in some aspects compared to the original version, and Misaka's destroying millions of dollars' worth of equipment and the city barely tries to stop her?!) but I enjoyed it over all. The second arc was quite a bit weaker and filled to bursting with the manufactured saccharine quality that I've come to expect from JCStaff's Railgun filler.

In conclusion I liked it overall, but what was filler was very, very obvious.

Oh well, might as well comment on this one too.

Personally, it was a rather weak season for me. Not rarely did I find myself being hesitant whether to click on that 'play' button or not, and sometimes it just felt flat-out boring to watch a certain show. Here the break-down
-Danganronpa (I've heard a lot about this show and apparently the anime didn't quite manage to adapt the game's greatness. My opinion? It was entertaining to watch but nothing too outstanding)
-Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi (a pleasant surprise of a show; the story was good and it scored big time in the visual department)
-Monogatari 2nd season (I feel like watching this as a whole is better so I might put it on-hold once the current arc's over)
-Genei wo Kakeru Taiyou (it tried to be Madoka and failed epicly; utter trash)
-DxD NEW (Boobs. Action. Akeno-san. Some more boobs. Can't go wrong with that.)
-Watamote (this one had me rolling so many times. Absolutely loved it)
-Gin no Saji (I love the manga and the anime's as awesome.)
-Gatchaman Crowds (I still have three episodes left to watch but I'm (impatiently) waiting for the sub group to catch up; I like this anime quite a bit)

My favourites would be Watamote and Silver Spoon.

The level 6 arc went on a little too long for my taste. It was basically a recap arc from Misaka's perspective.

Uchouten Kazoku is easily my favourite of this season. Followed by Silver Spoon.
Kingdom still has't got the animation it deserves, but story is great and the characters are great.
Free! was actually quite nice little thing to watch (I didn't want to watch it at first since it's not exactly my cup of tea and nothing about the premise seemed interesting). Animation is really great and characters are likable.
Blood Lad is okey but there is nothing really memorable about it.
I liked Danganrompa the animation. It's kinda like life

! you want to get out of school and by the end it turns out there's only despair awaiting you outside.
The biggest disappointment for me was Watamote, not because it's bad, but because I've heard everywhere how good it is, while I find it really bit boring with few laughs here and there. I've made it to episode 8 and I've dropped it.

From Spring season I've watched Shingeki no Kyojin and I love it. I've started watching Karneval at some point, as my friend recommended it to me, but I've dropped it after 4 episodes.

I agree with Uchouten and Silver Spoon. Uchouten had one of the most perfect episodes I've ever seen in anime, and was generally pretty consistent. So two novel adaptations that ended this year (SSY and Uchouten) are at the top of my 2013 list.

                                        Let's see…

First, I finally dropped Dog & Scissors (Inu to Hasatmi wa Tsukaiyou). God only knows why stuck along with this until like episode 8 or something. There was something that kept me going but I finally realized the show is terrible and they were basically shipping a harem with a reincarnated human-dog while doing boob jokes and shit. Terrible series with horrible characters.

Gatchaman Crowds: I watched the first couple of episodes and found it interesting. Due to time I put it on hold, but I think I'll finish it up.
Attack on Titan: Fantastic series and I look forward to seeing a second season some day.
Monogatari S2: These episodes have been even better than Bakemonogatari in my opinion. Nisemonogatari went the fanservice route while still being relatively interesting, but this season has really focused on character development and plot progression and I'm a big fan of it.
The World God Only Knows S3 - Goddess Arc: My favorite arc so far and I'm crossing my fingers for a fourth season or some OVAs to cover the manga material that was skipped.
Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi: Fantastic series overall, but as others said, the final few seconds were a bit annoying. Still a great series, but I hate when my emotions are built up only to be for nothing. I won't spoil what actually happens, though.
Danganronpa: Pretty good series overall, but the cheesiness, especially toward the end, was a bit over the top. I mean, "hope bullets"? Really? I hope the blood is not pink in the uncut version.
Genei wo Kakeru Taiyou: In my opinion this was an overall okay series. Calling it utter trash is too far in my opinion. It did address some interesting concepts in a rather dark approach. What I'll say is that the ending was pretty rushed and anticlimatic, but I liked the villain and the main cast. But I also hate when characters die and are brought back, but I called that ahead of time.
Fate/Kaleid: While a magical girl show, it was interesting in its own right (while actually picking fun at magical girl shows) and had some entertaining moments and good animation. I'll be checking out the original Fate series, as I'm sure they're much better. That's really the only reason I watched this spinoff since I'm planning on watching Fate/Stay and Fate/Zero, but this series was still enjoyable enough and pretty short.
Rozen Maiden (2013): I'll just pretend this is S3 to keep myself from going crazy since it pretty much is, although it technically negates anime-only material from S2. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised they made this after 8 years and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm really hoping to see another season that adapts the future manga material because it's very interesting later on.
Watamote: Fanastic series and hilarious. Sometimes I feel really bad for Tomoko, but other times she makes a complete ass out of herself and deserves what she gets. Either way it's a comedic/depressing series, but it has some charm to it. I'm sure a season 2 will come some day.
Blood Lad: Started off funny and quickly turned into a standard battle anime. Not bad, but nothing outstanding either. Still, I'd watch if there was a second season.
OreImo (OVAs): While there are many things I like about this franchise, there are also many things that make me cringe, specifically the incest that went from slightly hinted to full blown. All I'll say is that Kuroneko is the best character out of the franchise. Period.

I also dropped Servent x Service after one episode. It just wasn't funny to me overall and it didn't catch my attention. I never even tried Free or any of the remaining titles.

Onto the next season I suppose.

It was nice seeing Kyoto beautifully animated as well, the art was spot-on.

In the Weekly Shonen Jump Thread, Aohige said that his favorite Robot pilot anime was Gunbusters A.K.A Top o Nerae! I watched it and it is really good and opposed to Gurren Lagann(which Aohige said it was is second favorite) it his strongly based in science, giving a different charm.
After watching Gunbusters I went to watch DieBusters A.K.A Top o Nerae! 2. I only watched 2 episodes, but my first impressions is that is really bad. I don't like the characters(The main character is really bad, and it seems almost everything is just eye candy for the viewers, but not really consistency, from the fights to the fan-service. True be told the first had some Fan-service but not of this level(Ex: The Gunbusters seat is a stick between the pilot legs).
Well I will give it another chance! Well, I only have 4 more episodes to watch so is not a big deal.

Eh, I missed out. Though I did end up watching some of the Dangan Ronpa anime, and for what it was, it wasn't half bad. If it ends up coming back for a second season, I wouldn't mind watching it.

It'll be interesting to see how the anime deals with the sequel game.

I'm too lazy to talk about all the shows I watched but some of my favourites from this season were Uchouten Kazoku, Love lab, and Majestic Prince.Majestic Prince had some weird designs but my Got when it got to the action it was amazing, the best CG I've seen in an anime. Love Lab was funny with surprisingly good animation and was a breathe of fresh air with it being a show with an all girl main cast without any tact on Yuri. Uchouten Kazoku was great, great setting, fun characters nice pacing, now I'm really starting to like everything P.A Works puts out.

Also whilst it wasn't perfect I did really have fun with Stella C3-bu. From what I've heard the manga was just a standard all girls club gag manga with some yuri. The anime actually had a story, with character development, and it was hilariously like Star Wars and Spec-Ops the line. Also it felt like it really took advantage for the fact that it was a cartoon. It's a real shame that it's Blu Rays sales tanked because it deserved better than that.
