Ironicaly, Maynard has the best track record of VAs that are not up there with Admirals.
And Onigumo probably has the best track record at killing marines. Or was it Dobberman? I think it was both anyway, not sure.

I think it was Onigumo. Doberman ordered marines to leave wounded soldiers on Marineford.
Akainu also killed one. (As far as we know.)
And Aokiji was introduced before SH actually got to LRL land.
When was he introduced then? I thought we first saw him at the end of LRL.
@Galaxy:
Thanks! His first full appearance is so memorable I totally forgot this.
Actually, people rarely speak in detail why the scenes are actually good. They seem content simply trying to dismiss my critisisms.
i havent reread the arc,but i'll try making a list of stuff that i liked in dressrosa.note:i like dressrosa, but i personally think it could have been a lot better.
Doflamingo is one of the most hyped characters in the series, so it makes sense that his arc is lengthy and fleshes out his island / crew to the point that it has. Other arc boss' like Moria, Lucci, Enel, Crococodile etc were introduced within their own saga. Having the arc coincide with Oda prepping future allies just adds to the bulk.

aokiji more than 16 characters of love

- the design of and concept of dressrosa is really quite pretty.both the locations, crowd designs, toys design looks really refreshing.
2)we get to see a really well populated, decently choreographed huge fights in collisium, with lots of gladiators and other people.
the characters introduced through the tournament really seems to bring the new world into light.it doesn't matter if they play a role or not in the future(some have already done),at least to me.they give us a good idea of the various places in the new world
3)dwarves are a fun and neat concept, with some good characters, though i admit they haven been developed well.but i at least find their tribe, culture and abilities nice.
5)i thought luffy vs chinjao was pretty good, but that's just me
5)this one needs no mention, but is a huge plus for the arc:reaally nice, sad back-stories.i doubt there is anyone who didn't like law's and senor pink's backstory(if there is,i don't know what to say).of course, don chinjao's,baby 5's,dofla's,riku family's,kyros's and rebecca's are really good in their own right.of course, some people might not like the huge amount of back-stories,but really, what's not there to like?
6)of course, the antagonists-the donquixote family.there are a lot of members, but generally i think they are a little more developed than, say the Baroque Works.yes yes,the executives were a disappointment, but at least i see that only in the fighting department.design and character wise,i think it comes down to personal preference.
well,at the time, that's all i can think about.granted, there are many flaws, but they seem to need no mentioning.
overall,i can say i enjoyed the arc more than punk hazard, but less than a lot of pre-ts arcs.
Well said. I still stand by what I wrote earlier (it was such a relief finally getting that off my chest) and I most certainly have more complaints, but this arc has some really nice points as well. I'd like to add a few.
Bartolomeo and Cavendish. This duo quickly became some of my all-time favorite characters, and chances are they will remain so for many arcs to come. They're completely unique in a manga with hundreds of characters, their abilities are fun to watch and both have a clear agenda. Dressrosa wouldn't have been the same without them, and in a way they fill in the hole left by Sanji's group. While this goes for both of them, it goes for Bartolomeo especially. I loved reading about him during the coliseum matches, and it was a lot of fun trying to figure out what the hell his power was.
Speaking of which, I personally enjoyed both Gladius' and sugar's fights. They have some bumps here and there, but overall they were actually quite good. Bari Bari Pistol is the most adorable finisher, and the whole mix of Usopp's speech (even if him running away felt a little OOC), Sugar's ridiculous defeat and Usopp being declared GOD is some of my all-time favorite moments. And then all hell broke loose, and even if the aftermath has had mixed results, that one chapter when chaos was unleashed was great.
The reference to Noland. The dwarves may add to how overcrowded the arc is, and personally I think it might've been better to put them in their own arc. But you can't deny that the sudden throwback to NOLAND of all people was amazing. It's stuff like this that makes One Piece good.
When Fujitora actually did something and brought down the comet.
Pica was beautifully drawn, and so was the sunflower field.
Hey guys, not sure if this is the right thread to post this, and I'm a week too late, but I think this sums up many people's complaints about the arc, or Law in particular. Hope you like it!
!
Hey guys, something has been bothering me, in fact every time I tried to sleep, my One Piece manga pile kept falling on me. Ever wonder what would become of the colosseum fighters after Doflamingo gets defeated? Do you think they will follow Luffy to the next arc? I don't think Bart would stand there and wave as the Straw Hat pirates sail off. And what will the Marines even do? Will they tries to capture Luffy? Do you think Luffy would form a pirate fleet made out of these colosseum fighters?

All implications point out that marines will act in Alabasta like way.
And Luffy's isn't the kind to lead a massive fleet. I think he will just dismiss them. And they'll probably be happy about it, when they learn he is going to fight two of the Yonko…

All of the Yonko.
All of the Yonko.
Well, yes, but he is actually in state of open war with one right now, and he will be in state of open war with two at the end of this arc.
What I meant is in the nearest future. Shanks and Blackbeard are more of a long-term plan.

Of course. Didn't mean to say you were wrong.
Although, some people will actually be welcome to the idea of fighting Yonko with Luffy.
Cavendish in particular will love the fame it will bring to him.

Buy a shelf. Or move the pile elsewhere.
Anyway all the Colosseum fighters have their own countries to return to afterwards.

Well, not all. Suleiman is banished for war crimes, and I think that so is Orlombus. Some of the others are bounty hunters. Barto has it's own little criminal underground going for him, but he will drop it to help Luffy, he seems like the kind of a guy to do so. And Cavendish was a murderer in his country, so I don't think he is missing it much.
The question is how many of the will go with Luffy after they learn he has two Yonko on his neck. Including Kaido, who was hyped up as being plenty scary.
I still hope Bart joins the crew but I'm starting to think he's just going to be an ally.
Sometime soon I'm going to reread Dressrosa…for the idk maybe 4th time or so lol. I kinda wanna wait for the right moment though.
Probably just the S.O.P start onwards though. I've reread the colosseum too many times to wanna read it AGAIN. Well...aside from when Sabo joined I suppose. I might reread that.
a few people said there would be Bellamy and Barto together like Coby and helmeppo or fullbody and jango… but i actually believe that Cavendish and Bartolomeo could be a possibility.

It´s happening already

Definitely ally, but we probably won't see most of these guys anyway until the war against the marines or Blackbeard. Could be interesting though if some of them came to help in each arc from now on.

I feel like they will go their own separate ways, but give Luffy a way to contact them since multiple fighters admire Luffy and have fleets of ships. I can see Zo being a smaller more self-contained arc and then when we get to the conflict with Kaido, Luffy will call on his fleet. After all, he is going to need a fleet to take on Kaido's fleet while the Straw Hats themselves go for him/his main base of operations.
Some of the coliseum fighters that aren't going to be Straw Hat allies may go off and pop up in other parts of the story when we typically get some world building exposition. The may also come back as major/minor antagonists in a later arc or get a cover story. Your guess is as good as mine, but those are some possibilities that I can see being pretty plausible.

They'll probably just go back to their countries if Doflamingo loses his title within the GM. The ones who defeat the shichibukai's executives won't be rewarded but they won't be so involved with what has happened so far, since their first objective was the Mera Mera and (how could anyone know) that an Admiral and two Revolutionaries would end up in the island? Fujitora doesn't seem interested in them so they are not part of the main problem for now.
Bart had the time of his life with part of the Strawhat crew and he also has his own crew. I wouldn't be surprised to see him promising to help Luffy in a near future and waving goodbye.
Marine's biggest problem now is what will Kaidou when he realizes that not only the Smiley factories are down but all the guns and Odin-knows-what Doflamingo was trafficking for him. My bet is that Fujitora will bring this subject to the Reverie but will think twice before getting involved into a Yonkou's rage, even though the oportunity is right there. He wants to end these pirate's advantages so he is also expecting Luffy to defeat Doflamingo.
Luffy already "conquered" some territorium in the Shin Sekai. I can picture him saying now because it is something dangerous for them and also saying that it is their choice, as long as they don't stay in his way.

I loved how Bartolomeo was just simple mobster with control over 150 cities before he became Luffys fan
It would be cool to see in future some random mobsters helping Strawhats and then get to know that they are Bartos people.
I bet the Barto Club will be the biggest crew at the end of the series. Full of SH groupies!
Completely unrelated, but does anyone think twilight or night will occur soon? It's been quite a while since the exchange at 3. I could see Doflamingo conceivably going down during sunset for extra memorability, both for us and for the citizens.
Funny enough, it's now evening in Jimbei's cover story.

It's probably been 2-3 hours since the Doffy-Law-Fujitora fight.
Just a guess though, it seems that way. What time does the sun set in the one piece world.

It seems pretty consistent. Around plot-thirty, I would guess.
Two hours is the absolute minimum it could be, going by the King Punch. My guess would be closer to 6 pm, maybe even a little later.

Should get the Pile-Pile fruit and organize that stuff!
The Cage is starting to look like an onion, no wonder why everyone is crying, ba dum tsss!
!
Took me a while.
Did I just spot a running gag, or am I gasping at straws?
Chapter 737: "it's not viscous, it's sticky!"
Chapter 782: "this bastard is so clingy" "I resent that, I'm sticky!"
I'd like to know how close these two scenes really are, considering Mangastream usually isn't the most reliable and true to the source material, but anyhow, it does seem Trébol gets offended when people don't get his DF's properties right.
Ed: While we're at it, man this two week break would be such an awesome time for the Powermanga guys to release a new batch of chapters. I know real life has been a bitch to them, but I've realized I can't properly enjoy my Dressrosa if it doesn't have their quality standards.

From cnet:
Luffy: Damn this guy…!! Why’s he so gloopy?!!
Law: ......!!
Trebol: The word’s “sticky”!!

Thanks for that. Viscous and gloopy sound way more similar than viscous and clingy.

Awesome. Can't wait!
Vergo, Monet and now Trebol all seem to have "died." Most likely they have disappeared from the story, but my question is; do you guys think we will see a cover story involving the Don Quixote family that centers around those three meeting up again? Just a thought I had a moment ago.
@Galaxy:
Yeeeesss!
BTW, looking for translators? You won't be using cnet's translations anymore?
BTW, looking for translators? You won't be using cnet's translations anymore?
For now we're continuing to use it, but if possible, we'd like to get a translator of nearly the same caliber so people don't have to deal with Mangapanda/Mangastream for too long.
But no huge rush. If we end up catching up to the latest chapter soon, we'll just be about 1.5-2 weeks behind.
The PowerManga translations are so much better, helps that there's also way less edgy swearing. Thanks, Galaxy!
does anyone think there might be a big falling out coming, or some sort of conflict between luffy and law, because law wants doflamingo actually dead, not beat up and left to think about things. will luffy do it? if luffy doesn't, will law? will luffy allow law? this seems like it would have to come up at some point, and maybe we will have to have dialogue about death with the hero, although i hope not.
My guess would be Sabo capturing Doflamingo.
Luffy would hardly be able to question his big Brother and the Revolutionaries can benefit a lot from someone like Doflamingo.
Damn thank you guys for your superb work. It just sucks that chapter 775 was not included but oh well, one of the best chapters of the series is worth the wait
This is the stuff. The translation is great, and the scans are cleaner and bigger than Stream's.
But wait a second. . .what's this? According to this translation: "The Happou navy from the Kano country. . .I'll have to remember them, you never know who might wind up as your enemy!"
Zoro doesn't discard the Happou Navy as future enemies?

Its important to know the names of your rivals. Isn't that right, Shakky?

It's the same in Viz as well:
!
I don't think Zoro is aware of Chinjao pledging his fleet to Luffy.
Does Viz also says Trebol is Dofi's Right-Hand Man?
