Bleach: I saw no reason to dedicate another chapter to this "fight"….I mean, what did we even see?
Grimmy falls to the ground defeated, monologues about how he really wasn't here blah blah metaphysical speech blah blah.....then just fades. The brain in the jar immediately made me think of Aaroniero, which is a good thing....right? But why a brain in a jar??? Is it his "imagination" or actually his brain...? Sorry, it just caught me off guard.
Yachiru's missing....hmm, could make for some interesting drama. But really, the Quincy girls we saw way back (part of Bambietta's posse, right?) are gonna attack Kenpachi? Ladies, please, don't embarrass yourself. The dude just beat a kid with the broken power of imagination….you can't top that.

Sakura manages to escape, and Team 7 officially joins up again. We're really hammering in the whole "Naruto = Jesus" metaphor, aren't we, Kishi? Just restoring Kakashi's vision so easily? Kakashi takes a moment to reflect on how his students have changed, what with their prospective goals and whatnot. I guess it's (kinda) a heartfelt? moment, but really out of place. And it just makes me miss Naruto Part I.
But seriously, Madara being Aizen-like was very frustrating.

Although we are led to see those girls as fodder since they walk in group, there is no real reason to think they are weaker than the other sternritter. So in fact Kenpachi would be fighting against 4 SR at once and maybe Bambietta as well if she is alive. But I doubt will be Kenpachi fighting them, this could be a good chance to throw a lot of underused characters in the fray (if we have to take useless fighting, at least I hope Kubo uses the chance to develop forgotten characters instead of wank the same as always)

Considering that he already killed three Stern Ritters off-screen in the first invasion and Kubo went out of his way to remove Yachiru and Isane from the battle (awww…)....sigh yeah, I smell more wank.

Naruto was just garbage. Madara is Aizen where everything went according as planned from the very beginning and jesuto is just bad overall. Way to go kishimoto taking out all sense of danger, by making the main character into a god essentially.

Bleach: I have a bad habit of trying to find the good thing in garbage, and you know what's good about this chapter? Yachiru disappearing is actually something interesting and worth caring about. Plus, the four sternritters, whether they are a match for Kenpachi or not, could do a number of things. They could have Yachiru hostage, or they could just be a distraction from her finding him. The story could go anywhere now! Maybe we'll forget about that floating brain? Who knows. I can't imagine it!

I've been trying to like Sakura for the longest time, through all the hate she gets, but that was just too much. Sorry girl, but you are useless.
I almost feel bad for her. What is she even supposed to do in their so-called "teamwork"? Her one and only saving grace has been stolen by Naruto who doesn't even know what the hell he is doing.
Its at times like these that I remember why I still love the female characters in One Piece, despite them becoming increasingly passive and targets for fan-service. At least they have memorable personalities and unique powers and even DO things like FIGHT, being ENTERTAINING and USEFUL.And for some reason I found Kakashi looking from student to student hilarious. Like he is looking at them one by one and thinking just how bad everything has gotten and wanting to leave before he is dragged into the clichés as well.
As for Bleach, I'm speechless. Thank god its over, Gremmy. At least the missing Yachiru thing is mildly interesting.

That MGS was the only one I ever played, don't really remember most of the plot, there was some doomsday spider mecha weapon I think? But I still remember the story arc and meaning of this boss character, it was genuinely heartwearming and tragic, especially that last battle
I also remember incredibly old sniper, ghost man and BEEEEEES -
It was Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, still in my opinion the best in the entire series.^^

Like I think there was some kind of limit to Gremmy's power, when he was dealing with Yachiru and forgot to deal with Kenpachi….no wait, never mind. But you know, let's just keep imagination to meteors and clones! Like we're playing Final Fantasy or something.
What I mean is, there were virtually limitless ways for Gremmy to...not even kill, but to stun or wound or damage, whatever.....and he gets beaten like it ain't no thing. Kubo throwing in metaphysical philosophy really didn't help matters. In the end, he suffered to the Aizen Effect. And it just makes me wonder why no Quincy has sticken to "gathers reishi, forms weapons" since...Kirge?

Might as well kill Bach and take his throne, nothing could stop that fucking ability, except touching the hilt of the sword before release, which is so difficult and specific It might not be a weakness at all, unless Kubo would come up with some reiatsu density bullshit, I think that was even mentioned in the Kenpachi novel that Ken would have been able to withstand it. Doesn't matter anyway, because absolutely nobody was able to stand up to it anyway in the series. It was so goddamn good there was never a need for Aizen to go bankai -
If I recall correctly Aizen never even used bis Shikai ability on Ichigo which would have ended the match quickly. Was there any reason for this or was it just (to borrow a term from Meta) the Aizen Effect?

Kubo really should have just given Gremmy powers based on what his opponent thinks (and thus utilizing the power of suggestion) rather than his broken "unlimited imagination power" ability. The result would have been the same, but at least it would make it seem like Gremmy wasn't a super all powerful being that was inhibited only by his own lack of imagination.
Heck, if Kubo REALLY wanted to be pretentiously deep but at the same time make this lack of imagination "make sense", how about a lame ass flashback of Gremmy being some brain dead kid that played too much video games or something. At least then Kubo would be pretentiously preachy, profound, and at the same time EXPLAIN why Gremmy was such an unimaginative doofus. But nope, BRAIN IN THE JAR!

Yeah, the thing bothering me the most with the sternritters is how the group abilities lack anything in common. Since Kirge we don't see a quincy that looks like a quincy, because their abilities range from anything to anything to the point you can't even see what it the common root there. It feels like just a bunch of weird people with powers instead of a clan.
I'm up all night to get lucky.
