Brownbeard was one of the standout surprises from Punk Hazard, and easily one of the best things about the arc. He had some great moments at least.

Funny moments!
Badass moments!
And of course, dramatic moments.

Add a great design, and thats one classic OP character right there.

I've said it before, but if you had told me 2 years ago that BROWNBEARD would be responsible for two of an upcoming arcs most emotional moments, I would have laughed in your face. Yet as he lies broken, betrayed and bleeding, I actually feel for him, and cheer Luffy on to whoop Ceasars ass, for fucking BROWNBEARDS sake.

Brownbeard is a cool guy. A very likeable goof, with real heart to him.

As for Fujitora, well, he's just a guy who summons meteors.

I think I would have liked Brownbeard more if he didn't come off as a naïve, gullible, bumbling idiot for the entirety of the arc. But I stress this is my personal opinion. I don't have anything against his supporters. I just don't get it.

NEVER have truest words been spoken.

Brownbeard was the biggest surprise of Punk Hazard; Oda handled him magnificiently. I just recently re-read part of the arc, and Brownbeard's stand against Caesar was badass, him getting shot to half-death while drugged was devastating, and Luffy's revenge on his behalf was awesome.

And the FUCKING BROWNBEARD BUS.

Seriously, Brownbeard is probably the biggest post-time skip surprise. He's the post-TS Mr.3.

As many people have already said, characters like Brownbeard are what makes One Piece One Piece.
Having a character noone would give a shit, who in another manga would end up long forgotten, actually
making a really pleasant comeback is the perfect proof of how great Oda handles his side characters!

His execution was good, but I'd prefer him to be a new character. The fact that in his initial introduction he got pwned by Hawkins because he was plundering islands and claiming titles made me dislike him, and Oda could've just as well introduced a different character on Punk Hazard, which I'd preferred… As it stands, I am not happy with how he got "reused".
