Well, I finally finished the series.
That….. was a goddamn masterpiece.

Ruby's speech (through written letter) was so well done, I get emotional every time.
Best parts of it for me:
"You told me once that 'bad things just happen'. You were angry when you said it, and I didn't want to listen.
But you were right. Bad things do happen. All the time, every day. Which is why I'm out here. To do whatever I can, wherever I can, and hopefully do some good.""We've all lost something, and I've seen what loss can do to people." Shows Jaune staring at his weapon/shield

"Then for the people we haven't lost yet." Ruby wipes away some tearsLike a silly sauce, just finding these quotes and putting them in the post has made my eyes drip. XD

It's definitely the most emotional volume, so much so that I almost forgive them for Volume 3's ending.
! End of Vol. 3 went from 0 to 100 SO FAST. I remember actually reacting like "GAAAAASP NOOOOOOOO".
! Didn't think Penny would die. Pyrrha's death was predictable due to spoilerish opening of doom, but the moment was still so harsh. Ruby watching her friend being disintegrated into thin air, and Jaune.. it still hurts :(. Yang losing her arm was a shocker too.
! But I guess they had to be harsh to encourage so much growth, healing, and character development, cuz all of it has been fantastic.
! I'm seriously enjoying Weiss right now. I even loved that after her father told her she wasn't the heir anymore and she was confined to her house that she collapsed on her bed for a brief cry but then realized that no, she was too strong to be affected over something so menial, and goes and practices summoning her sword guy xD. I'm excited to see her new moves in action the most.
! Also if Qrow ever dies I will be devastated. Killing off the father figures is my Achilles heel, and it's worse now, knowing that Qrow is this solitary lonely bad luck man.

Volume 4 was definitely the recovery period.
After being floored to the canvas in volume 3, volume 4 served as the supportive coach for the heroes.
They sorted through their emotions, found the motivation and means to stand back up,
and now they're ready to box again in volume 5.Uncle Qrow is probably my favourite character, I love every single scene that he takes part in.
His semblance is so cruel though. It's no wonder he drinks all the time. He's carrying some guilt and burdens for sure. >_>
I also love that he's voiced by Vic Mignogna (Edward Elric). -
I heard Mounty left enough material for Volume 5, so that makes you wonder what they could do after it.
! Also, I fail to see any indication of Phyrra's death in Vol 3's opening unless it is something very subtly.

So there was a RWBY panel at Anime Expo today, and from what I've heard it was announced that Volume 5 will have at least three character shorts, one each for Weiss, Blake, and Yang (I've seen mixed reports on whether Ruby is getting another one). Unsurprisingly they will be premiered this weekend at RTX, but apparently they will be released publicly in the following weeks, which is a far better turnaround than the three months it took for the Volume 4 character short to be released following its initial showing.
So yeah, that's coming up soon.

I'm really hoping they do a more expansive look on racism, there were touches of it in book 1 and book 3 but with it being stated as such a problem and blake's role in the story being to fight it we needed a lot more than we got

! Finally Yang got to do something, she's probably my favorite character but it feels like she didn't have like anything at all to do the last season. And there's a reunion! Huzzah!

I agree, it felt like the first time they got close to what the fights used to be under direction of Monty (may he forever rest in peace). Even though the choreography was still ways off, the fight had a dynamic and fluidity to it that hadn't been seen in RWBY for a long time, at least imho (thinking back to the debacle that was the final fight of season 4 vs. Tyrion & subsequently the Nuckelavee ). Cinder was also long overdue for some retribution, even though she will probably be back later.

also when do you guys think movie 6 comes out on Amazon prime? I've been watching it there, or is there somewhere better to watch it? (also confused if there movies or episodes because on Amazon Prime they have them all as one long movie but on other sites they seem to be separated as episodes)
