@Bucephalus:
yes, your poorly informed, myopic opinion
I don't really know what basis you have to call Zoro sexist, but I'm going to assume you're referring to that chapter with Monet. If you really take the time to read Zoro's actions, there proves to be a much stronger argument for him not slicing her up because she was weak, not because of her gender. Then again, the chapter itself was rather equivocal, so there's no explicit yes or no as to whether Zoro has sexist tendencies. Still, this is a poor example. Any other examples I can think of would be Tashigi complaining that Zoro won't fight her because she's a woman; he established very early on that this is not the case: it's because of her resemblance to Kuina.
Anyway, even if Zoro does have semi-sexist qualities (which is surely contestable), they don't obfuscate his other qualities as does Sanji's 'chivalry.' CCC noted that Sanji has been Flanderized, and I'd say that's pretty accurate. I was just reading bits of the Baratie arc the other day and you'd swear it was a different character. Granted there were no women during the bulk of that arc, but he had so much more going for him. As the series progressed he developed into this weird, drooling goon. And that's just considering his sexist nature. Don't even get me started on his apparent abandonment of his dream. That gag in Fishman Island where he said he'd found All Blue didn't even seem like a gag to me. When Zoro commented on the cheapness of Sanji's goals, I totally agreed. Does the dude even give a shit about the All Blue? He sure doesn't show it. Does like to dance around women though…
I wouldn't say Sanji has abandoned his dream as such, it just isn't mentioned as much as some of the other Strawhats respective dreams.
The Strawhats that have dreams that can be achieved in an obvious fashion are obviously going to be mentioned more, for instance;
-
Luffy wants to become Pirate King, so he aims to find One Piece
-
Zoro wants to be the world's greatest swordsman, so he aims to defeat Mihawk
-
Robin wants to find the Rio Poneglyph, so she heads for Raftel were she believes it's hidden
-
Brook wants to get back to Laboon, so he heads for Laboon the only way he can
The other Strawhats dreams are more abstract, aren't really possible right now or don't have a clear cut way to achieve them;
-Sanji wants to find the All Blue, but except for it being in the Grand Line, he doesn't know where it is, while the crew are journeying to Raftel, he's just hoping he comes across it, but would most likely search the entire Grand Line if he's given the chance.
-Nami wants to draw a map of the entire world, she won't be able to achieve that for a long time if ever, certainly not until Raftel is reached
-
Usopp wants to become a Brave Warrior of the Sea, there is no clear defining point as to when that is achieved
-
Chopper wants to cure every illness, similar to Nami's circumstance.
-
Franky wants to sail every ocean with the Sunny, again similar to Nami and Chopper's situation.
These dreams are never mentioned in comparison to to Luffy, Zoro, Robin and Brook's, not because they've given up on their dreams, but because they aren't as relevant right now to the Strawhats journey, aren't as clearly defined or don't have as many relevant points that make them spring to mind.
