      @400MillionBelis:

A theory nonetheless. The most I can give to you is the idea of what we have learned in Enel's cover story coming into play in the Void Century. Skypiea is definitely the last we're going to here about the Sky People and their origins. And, I'm only a smartass when I see it fitting.

So far you're just nipicking and that didn't made theory even a little bit more plausible. Even after I said that I want that to hapenn but now it's pretty baseless. So I don't even know what you tried to prove here besides picking holes in argument.

Is there air in One piece Space?

And could you call space "The Black Sea"?

        Serious questions.

Also apparently you can go to space via balloon so…..... space travel is very possible and I don't really think One Piece would suffer for it. The transition will certainly be more sudtle than say the main charcter's long lost brother coming to the main character's teacher's house and telling him, he is a member of a race pf merchenary monkey people from space.

          @The:

I'm telling you: Monet will be the astronomer. She has been reading astronomy books afterall (and has wings). And the World Government is an alliance formed by 5 alien nations, each nation being on a different moon. Raftel is the place where they began their invasion of the "One Piece world" (during the Void Century), and One Piece is concrete evidence supporting it, Devil Fruit is alien weaponry, Pluton is an alien capital ship, those of the Will of D. are of the royal bloodline of the ancient kingdom that the World Government overthrew etc. etc. etc. etc. I could go on and on.

If Oda does something like this, this series is NOT half way over.

I'm all for it though. Haha… as long as One Piece stays consistently good , I'm all for something like this happening.

First off, I need to mention that I made a mistake and meant to say that "definitely not the last we see…". Stupid unresponsive keyboard :I
Second, I am not, nor am implying, that that theory has evidence for it. That's why I said that "the most I can give you", since there is little to nothing we know about Monet, just ideas based on other idea.s
Third, I wasn't proving anything, more-so on the fact that the "almost baseless theories" you claim are theories nonetheless. I saw you claiming what we can be made of the Monet character as "fanfiction at best", I found it wrong, and replied with my usual sarcasm. Nothing else - despite the varying degree of evidence and intelligibility of a theory, I just wanted to say a theory is a theory nonetheless.

tl;dr My usual attempt at sarcasm and wittiness has backfired after a long while. Seems I got too comfortable. :x

After seeing this I quickly flipped through the first 10 volumes to see if Oda has ever even drawn the Sun. So far I have not found it. All the backgrounds during the day have clouds but nothing round suggesting a sun. Can anyone tell me the first instance in the Manga with the Sun in the sky or rising or setting?
Nami does not use the stars for navigation. When is the first instance in the manga that depicts a sky full of stars?
Yikes I need to go back and reread stuff now.

The problem I have with multiple moons, is that we've never seen them in the actual sky. There's never been a moment where you see two moons just hanging out together. Now, it's possible that their world is large enough and the moons close enough (Eneru traveled the distance pretty easily using what was essentially one step down from primitive rocket power) that certain regions have their own 'moons.' This would probably imply artificial satellites instead, which I find a bit more plausible considering the relative ease of space travel in One Piece.

Consider that Eneru didn't need to seal his ship to protect it from the void. That there was an atmosphere not only in space, but on the moons, one shared by the aliens, as they also did not need any special equipment. The force of gravity was not so extreme that he needed anything more than what let his ship rise into the air, and that the moon was close enough that whatever meager provisions he brought (judging by his forward thinking, probably a few bushels of fruit) were more than enough to sustain him on his trip.

If this were a more science-y series, I'd suggest a Dyson-sphere filled with atmosphere and with artificial methods of regulating the various satellites and their gravity.

Instead, I'm just going to go with it's a comic book where Oda didn't want to focus overly much on the science involved. I hate doing that, but that's really what it looks like. On the plus side, maybe we will get wars between the various moons and aliens!

May you live in interesting times.

May you attract the attention of those above you.

I'm going to have to say that the Black Sea in OP is much less unforgiving than space IRL. If a balloon were actually exposed to a vacuum as in the manga, it would pop. Enel wouldn't be able to survive no matter which way you slice it. I would say that the reason for this is because OP takes place in a fantasy world, that is loosely based on the beliefs that existed during the 1500s. For a similar depiction of space and space travel, see "The Last Hero" by Terry Pratchett.

Wasn't there a thread about the moons, space, aliens, and winged people just a few months ago? And I hope no one is honestly trying to make sense of any of the science involved here, cause this is a series where we have characters hopping 10 times off the ground to do a speedy jump. I'm surprised that some people apparently forgot about the aliens that already exist. I think there's enough evidence to expect a space-related arc or revelation.

And I agree with the comment about watching a 14 minute theory on video. I clicked out of that when I noticed the length.

I totally love the "one piece is in space" theory, but I don't think it's gonna happen. The strawhats into space… well, maybe, but it'd be an arc (one of the last ones too). About the whole "Half of the story" issue, remember that Oda planned One Piece to last 5-6 years in the beginning. I mean, that man is always underestimating the length of his manga

But they are making money off ideas/reviews/theories, not copyrighted pictures, videos, or manga images (take thumbnails). If they get popular enough that people are actually interested in what they say once or twice a week and it's consuming a bit of their time, maybe it's okay to make a few extra bucks a week since it's legal and youtube won't stop peckering you about monetization if you have over 500,000 total views.

The Internet has made it a lot easier for people to make money, and I'm never against people getting out of the corporate grind, even if it's just a little passive income stream on the side. More people need to take advantage of the potential money you can make on the web. If they can make money reviewing a manga series, then I say go for it. They aren't even making much at all anyway with those view counts.

Steps to making money on youtube (only one section of the web where you can make lots of money):
-Be a really opinionated person (or not you can just fake it)
-Start sharing those opinions with people
                              -Be loud
                              -Make controversial opinions
-Make sure your videos don't have any logos on your shirt or anything or in your room, the video has to be 100% yours for monetization
-Make a crap ton of videos where you share these controversial, loud opinions

You should at that point have at least a little following and be getting 1000's or more views on your videos. Then you can just keep growing and growing.

Or you can film your cute animal lol.

However I think with channels that review things be it a movie or a videogame etc. It has to be something that people look for an opinion on before they go out of their way to purchase it. Manga is less like that for the people in this community at least, it's free and it isn't a huge investment of your time… You don't really need to review it, well you can if you're that passionate but reviewing it doesn't deserve to be paid, it should be a hobby in this case.

I understand what you guys are saying. It's like, if it's there than why not?

However I think with channels that review things be it a movie or a videogame etc. It has to be something that people look for an opinion on before they go out of their way to purchase it. Manga is less like that for the people in this community at least, it's free and it isn't a huge investment of your time… You don't really need to review it, well you can if you're that passionate but reviewing it doesn't deserve to be paid, it should be a hobby in this case.

The good thing is that nobody is paying them except YouTube. These reviewers didn't begin on youtube saying "hey I wanna make a crap load of money", it started as a hobby before it was earning them anything. Nobody has anything to lose, luckily, and many people who apply to monetize their videos aren't usually accepted unless they have lots of viewers, though that may have changed.

A youtube reviewer is contributing to the franchise by making the one piece fan community more active and by increasing the interest of fans and non fans in the series even more, which might make everyone spend more money on the franchise.

Therefore, they deserve the money. They are basically walking and talking ads for the series and the people who own the series don't even have to pay them, youtube does. For the people who own the series they are basically free publicity.

Unless the other six moons' surface doesn't reflect sunlight, or due to the influence of an unmentioned factor, then currently the world of One Piece has a single moon only, which can be proven by the countless shots of the nocturnal sky.

The spatial topic is more than six years old and hasn't received any updates since Enel's cover story. Sadly, nothing new to see here.

As has been said, I really doubt this is going to come up as an issue or Oda put much thought into it since we've only seen one moon in the night sky. I mean, I guess you could come up with a sciency explanation that the other five moons are only in the sky during the day when they'd be less visible and set at night or aren't very noticeable to begin with because they orbit at a much further distance than the one we see but…that's pretty convoluted.

Though, I guess multiple tidally-locked satellites would explain why the One Piece planet's seas can be so unstable.

So just to be sure, the criteria are:
~ There will be no explanations about the planetary system of One Piece

I haven't read the whole thread yet, though it came up to my mind after reading the first page of this thread.
They do not have to go to the moon (I actually rather not).
Capone was abducted up to that moon because of it's gravity, and it is assumed that Monet is an astronomer.
The moon that Capone was abducted to probably has a fixed and permanent route, which seems to be in the New World, so to basically survive there, it is needed to know the route of that specific (may be more?) moon (which will be an awesome twist for the New World for me.) so the navigator in the crew navigates through the sea, and the astronomer predicts the route of the moons so you will not be abducted to them.

Alternatively, it's like spotting a one-note character in a single panel of flashback and thinking it's the Pirate King's First Mate… oh wait. I mean, it could be nothing, and Oda certainly won't take ever little chance like this that pops up, but stranger things have happened and little details can come back in a big way later on. Right now, it's harmless speculation and it probably won't play out like this says it will, but dismissing a detail in a panel or screenshot of the anime isn't entirely good either.

                                                                      • You've never seen him do something like that because it has only happened once, buddy.

What remains is that the moons are an interesting detail but the speculation the youtuber offers is completely baseless and is as relevant to the manga as fanfiction. I never once denied the existence of the moons, I merely denied that anything beyond that panel was true.

I never once denied the existence of the moons, I merely denied that anything beyond that panel was true.

                                                                            • Oda, more or less, draws everything. Don't need a reminder.

What remains is that the moons are an interesting detail but the speculation the youtuber offers is completely baseless and is as relevant to the manga as fanfiction. This guy is too loud, too annoying, and his theories from the 2 or 3 vids I've seen sucked. If you want to review anime/manga then make it short, unique, and entertaining. Every retard with a webcam can and does make a YT video. The only thing good about this guy is he suckered in a bunch of people to sub to him, so I will give him credit for getting some people to enjoy his 2hr long videos.

Enies Lobby is an island without night. I wonder if Oda will explain that by placing an isle in the NW without daylight. Cause that would mean EL as well as the other island are always pointing at the sun/covered by the planet himself and cut off of the daylight.
Oda's inspiration for EL sure came from Scandinavia (IDK exactly which country, Finland or Norway) where in one whole summer night there is no dusk so the sun shines for more than 24 hours. Skadi is Scandinavian iirc, she could know which country I mean.

I know this is Shonen after all, but Oda also linked certain weather phenomena together:
the ebb and flow thing @ Long Ring Long Land and the Aqua Laguna @ W7.
Both of them seem to be linked together IMO. This might be far fetched, but even the KnockUp-Stream could be causing this other two phenomena. But its stated that the KnockUp-Stream happens once a month, the Aqua Laguna and the tides @ LRLL once a year iirc.

Though I sumhow doubt the SHs will travel to one of this planets. IMO there is only one moon, the other "bodies" are planets cause one them has its own "moon". Why I am convinced there is only moon that "shines" at night? Oda has put a lot of emphasis at the moon between Whiskey Peak and Drumm KD. Fans wanted to calculate the travel time of the SHs by studying the moon phases in certain panels back then (half moon, full moon, new moon, …)

I also don't think those other planets will be involved in OP. We have Enel and "his" moon to come back in the story, and I think that's all.
But it might be awesome if Oda's Mecha/Cyborg/robot story after OP will take place on one of those planets. @ least he said he'd love to draw a "Robot-Story" after OP is finished. I'd be patient there, it could take a while until that day...

There are a lot of different opinions and views in this forum when it comes to One Piece.

But can we all agree that Roger's ship, the Oro Jackson, had the best figurehead in the story so far?

Whether it be a place where the DFs come from, or a place for refuge, a black void where people travel to, who knows. However I don't think that the strawhats will travel there, seems too large of a leap and a little out of place.

I hate repeating myself but everything in this video was pure fanfiction, completely farfetched. I'm not saying they aren't cool ideas, but the fact that the image only lasted a single second in the series and everyone is going ballistic over it frustrates me. There is nothing to suggest the Strawhats will do anything in space, that's that. Cool, there's a universe out there. That's all we know. Going beyond that is frankly ridiculous.

The Grand Line and the red line are not perpendicular to equator, nor they pass from the poles. This means there has to be some intersection between them. IMO, that's Enies Lobby (this easily explains the "no night" stuff)

They kept all their illegal poneglyph research in the basement, where they worked at night. If the planetary structure of the world was actually very important to the secrets of the void century and the old kingdom then there is no way the scholars would have put that huge model in the main entrance to their library. That would be the height of stupidity.

Look at the planetary picture again. The Grand Line and the red line are not perpendicular to equator, nor they pass from the poles. This means there has to be some intersection between them. IMO, that's Enies Lobby (this easily explains the "no night" stuff)

I assumed (in hindsight) that Enies Lobby always had sunlight because of the Eve tree, mentioned in Fishman Island.
