! Woah, the Genaha Rush was badass. I'm so glad I recently found a place to download the latest raws, so I know what you guys are talking about. XD Well.. In a sense, anyway. I can't read japanese. ;_; I wanna know what the DBZ refrence was about. Ga-oh makes a good King Kai. XD
Aside from that, I have a question. has there been anything said about DVD releases? I keep missing this when it airs. (I forget to watch it. I atleast caught the finish of Halekulani and the intro to Cyber City..) I've only seen about 10-12 whole episodes since it started airing.

Last nights was hillarious. Best part-
"How did you know we were here?"
"I read the caption on the bottom of the screen!"
XD! Just like Dub Piece. -
I loved softons popularity rating went up after just one line XD
also, "There's no crying in anime!!'
Oh yeah was the 100t hammer a spoof on usopp's 5 ton. It looked a lot like it, but I doubt it.
-
Rofl @ the popularity meter. This episode was pretty good. I was really tired when I watched it though, so I don't remember most of the little jokes.
I did love Bo-bobo and Patch ignoring Jelly when he got attacked by the purple energy ball. XD
-
No one Likes Don Patch! =D
Anyways Who else thought that there would be an explosion, I did.
(P.S. Remember when Bobobo's hand became big? Now think Recent One Piece Chapters.)

Latest Bo-bobo chapter…
! Well it looks like Bo-bobo is willing to forgive Namero (apparantly), but the Third's followers aren't as forgiving. But hey..at least we have the most obvious Ryou appearance of his cameos this week…then again, Sawai wrote that chapter last week, so it should be obvious.

I hate how Bobobo is always so forgiving. He's such a push-over. If I were him, I would've just kept on beating the crap out of Namerou. I hate Namerou now… But then again, Pokomi woulda stopped me too... Aw to hell with her.
shoots self for dissing Bobobo characters
-
Sorry if this is a stupid question but can someone explain why Namero's hair is white instead of black? Because at first glance I thought that was Gasser before I noticed the school-uniform.

I think most of the time, Bo-bobo discovers the weakness of the character as something internal and ends up beating some sense into them before giving them another chance…or pointing out said flaw. I think one of the few villains I can think of that he didn't do that with was OVER/Torpedo Girl, but more because he was beyond all sense of reason. (while he did send OVER to "school", it was more to see if he could learn it on his own...but luckily, or sadly, he's still as psychotic as ever when he next appears)

RANDOM DISSCUSSION BREAKING POST!!
As I may have metioned before (I forget), Do you thing that Cartoon Network may fund for the continuation of Bobobo Anime? (Like The Big O)
Situation Description from Wikipedia (It's the Big O Season 2 Description thing.):"Initially there were only thirteen episodes created, abruptly leaving the plot with many questions left to be answered. Because it had more of a western setting and explored western themes the series did not make a huge impact in Japan. (The fact that it aired on a satellite network, WOWOW, did not help matters.) But due to the popularity of its American broadcast, Cartoon Network took the unprecedented step of supplying funding for the creation of a second season.
On August 3rd, 2003, a second season of Big O co-produced by Cartoon Network debuted on the Adult Swim programming block of the same network. This second season continues the Big O storyline beginning with the last part of the first season's last episode, but there are some obvious differences in the style and narrative."
The Anime was ended before the end of the inital series, so we don't have the Manga to see the ending in English and People may be confused by the abrupt ending. So people may be left with questions. I have no idea if they would change it to a more American theme if they did this (JAPANESE PARENTS!!!) but we have no of those complaints here, so it would seem possible.
-
No chance in hell.
However, if Naruto ends up succumbing to Filler Hell and is cancelled, I wouldn't doubt for a second that CN would fund a continuation of it.
-
Personally, I would love to see CN and Toei come together and finish at least the first part of Bo-bobo. Maybe eventually do Shinsetsu as well, but take things one at a time.
Heh…as for Naruto, I was hoping maybe it would succumb to filler hell (even if the fillers seem to show more on some characters than Kishimoto ever did), but I guess the fans both in Japan and America are too stubborn to let the show just end. Then again, they have about a year and a half of manga now so it should be ending already...and if they breeze through those first two arc quickly, then just start doing some more meaningful filler. (as in stuff with some of the other characters or real missions outside the Orochimaru/Sasuke/Akatsuki matters)
-
BAKA SURVIVOR AGAIN! I'LL CATCH IT SOON!!!
AND H.P.S.J.!!! EXPLODES INTO FRENCH HENS!
Anyways Bobobo looked more like Chicken Cordon Bleu to me.
-
"This show is a mystery!"
LOL, this one was great. It was cool how the dub kept in Baka Survivor and HPSJ, even though they aren't the OP and ED.
3 episodes until Denbo appears.
-
Man, every single line in Bo-Bobo makes me laugh. My favorite lines and scenes were:
-"Mystery Sad Sack!"
-"Man, these cookies are good. They must have cost a lot of money." "My friends deserve the very best. I charged it on Jelly's credit car!"
-"I'm stealing your scene!"
-When the lion inside Bo-Bobo's afro eats Super Rabbit's head.
-When the narrator points out that Super on Super Rabbit is spelt wrong. -
Its sort of amazing that Sad Sack gets some of the best stuff in the episode considering how everyone had thought he was "lame". Then again, he does come back later…
Tonight's episode is an automatic win for me...but after looking over the footage for next week's in the manga, I just hope its a lot zanier than it was drawn (at least the title in Japanese is probably the only Nube reference we'll ever see in the US...though the gag itself only lasted two panels in the manga)
-
@Mr.:
3 episodes until Denbo appears.
Denbo in two? Yatta!
-
I WANT AN EXPLOSION IN THIS EPISODE OR I WILL YELL.
Anyways tonights Episode is:
Libraries and Driving Tests! And a Donut, there better be a donut.

Geneha Cannon was amazing. I really hope Shinsetsu stuff is put into JUS.
-
@Cap'n:

You know, one thing I've noticed about recent chapters is that there's been a bit too much seriousness and not enough silly, unexpected randomness. Sure, Sawai has learned a bit more about how to construct a tale (personally I think the changes started in the Reverse Maruhage arc), but week after week with a couple jokes and lots of great action…well OK, not complaining of the action, but this doesn't feel like the series I fell in love with!
-
So, what happened in the latest dub episode? I missed it.
-
So, what happened in the latest dub episode? I missed it.
Not too much of note. The best part were that Don Patch and Jelly/Tennosuke admit they can't read…and Bo-bobo and Softon fighting the stupidest car-headed villain ever.
Oh, for those keeping track: 10/7/06 = DENBO TIME! (Toonami listings just released reveals that it will be airing then)

yea i noticed that as well, it doesn't have nearly enough jokes as the first part but i still enjoy it. I hope Shinsetsu get more jokes in it.

"I really wish I could read japanese."
I found that whole scence halirious.

Shinsetsu 38 (or, why Ataru wishes he had anything more than the first Shinsetsu volume:)
! HOLY CRAP!?!?!? THERE'S TWO BO-BOBO!?!?!?!? So then we either have one of three options: clone, this is the original and "Shinsetsu Bo-bobo" is someone else, or something completely different that only Sawai can come up with! Other than that, its a huge exposition chapter introducing all of the main sections of the Third's forces…and it looks like his grudge with the original Bo-bobo team (of which only four are allied now) has not gone away!
-
I'm starting to wonder - since bobobo was cancelled in Japan, will the series keep on going in the US?
-
I think the new Bo-bobo is definitely a clone.
I love Shinsetsu, but I can see what you mean with it becoming more action oriented. Like I noted in a Reborn thread, it's interesting how gag manga can go on to become something very much action oriented. I like Shinsetsu because I think it offers a good mix of gags with awesome asskicking (Geneha Rush/Cannon were awesome beyond belief).

I think from what I've seen is that Sawai seemed to slowly get in line with the attributes of the Shonen series with his silliness occasionally shining through. (with Don Patch and Tennosuke still in the series, that's bound to happen) If I were to rate the series (well even though I've yet to see all of Shinsetsu), here's how I'd rate them in content:
-Vol. 1: Complete randomness, even Sawai himself admits that
-Aitsuhage Tower-A Block Amusement Park: The series begins to start having a bit more structure, even with a lot still having randomness, they do seem to be fighting for a purpose in each arc.
-Gunkan/Pomade Ring: More structure is added as the crazyness continues. The series isn't as random, while the structure of "mysterious underlings Bo-bobo must fight" is introduced and a definitive "team" is formed (particularly with Tennosuke being a Hajikelist, even if he isn't seen from again after the arc ends). The most definitive arc until OVER.
-Hatenko/Evil Blood Mansion/Z-Block: A bit of a reprieve, a bit more randomness and of course the weird stuff that goes on at the "strongest block".
-Hajike Block: A more layered story begins to emerge as this arc slightly links towards the next. Hajike Trio officially formed, while the villain fight it a combination of action and weirdness.
-OVER: The definitive arc of the series that invents the formula used for most of the rest of the series (until the Reverse Maruhage arc) Memorable villains, a shocking twist (Torpedo Girl), amazing and crazy battles, weird fusions (BoboPatchnosuke) and the first "ultra special super attack" (the Planetary attack).
-Halekulani/Hallelujah Land: Somewhat of a hybrid between A-Block Amusement Park and OVER, villains and fights aren't as memorable (best: Don Patch/T-500, the triplets), crazy fights, and a consistant, long battle against one final opponent which slowly becomes tedious with attack after attack. (this started actually against OVER, but the fact that he's Torpedo Girl half the time of that fight makes it feel more fresh)
-Giga/Cyber City: Slightly crazy fights, but mostly a rerun of Hallelujah Land with only two really classic battles (Sonic, J) and an even more tedious final battle than Halekulani! Can't really go too much further without spoiling it.
-
Where is everyone getting these new chapters?
-
i get me raws from http://teamangelsub.free.fr/Ritual.htm they have the most recent bobobo raws- everything else i got from here and spoiled myself with wiki.
-
I'm starting to wonder - since bobobo was cancelled in Japan, will the series keep on going in the US?
How can it go on without anything from Japan?
-
Big O continued in english with Cartoon Network/Toonami's help, I think. If they could do it for that, they could do it for Bo-bobo.
-
I think it really depends on how successful Bobobo is in America (I don't know how popular it is). It it gets great rating then who know?

Didn't I ask pretty much the same question on the last Page...

I think that the continuation of Bo-bobo is all dependant on all involved: Toei, CN, Jump and Sawai himself. Toei and CN at least are doing business with each other, particularly since they are making that Powerpuff Girls anime..even with the liberties done to the characters
Toei also does seem to have the ability to continue stories after the original anime ended. It happened a couple times in particular with Jump mainstay Kinnikuman: the original anime ended just short of the final arc, and then they animated it years later in the early 1990s. Likewise, Toei also animated more of Kinnikuman Nisei (Ultimate Muscle), moreso becasue of its success in America and to continue the storyline it was locked in than for any Japanese purpose. (it did air in Japan, but over a couple years for merely 26 episodes) Considering that Bo-bobo ends in the middle of a plotline, they could, if CN commisions it, animate the end of the original series (through the Reverse Maruhage arc and even the Hair Kingdom) As for Shinsetsu…I say if the American show remains consitant and they even find success in Japan, we may see that later on...

DENBO-CHWAAAAAAAN NEXT WEEK? O_O
This week: the end of the Shibito and Kuruman fight, and the start of J
Next Week: Denbo vs. J…that's all you need to know. -
ROFL, Torpedo Girl pulled a Matrix.
"I wouldn't wish that on anyone! Even our producer! Oh, wait. Yes I would."
The narrator never fails to crack me up.

@Daisuke:
One week til Denbo-chwaaan  !!
Yep, Denbo next week…but some of you might be wondering how the heck she shows up with Bo-bobo fighting J and Dengaku Man in another part of the world. Trust me...things get interesting next week.

Did anyone else read the new American Shonen JUMP? It seems VIZ is getting serious about BoBoBo, and is pushing out some pimpin' action figures.
-
@LC:

My guess is its from the success of the anime…but that still doesn't excuse them from sitting on the manga. (though if they do anything special for the near future, it should be the "Reverse Maruhage" arc since that's where the anime abruptly ends)
-
volume 2 of part 2 -
That's a kick-ass cover.
-
Is this volume out?
-
Definately is. I do see that Bo-bobo is released about quarterly since the chapters are a bit smaller than a lot of the other Jump series, so they need more for a collection. So the next one should probably not be released until 1/2007.
-
Spoiler for new chapter:
! Torpedo Girl and Hatenko are back! Appears that Bo-bobo wants to train with "the torpedo", probably to further help his Shinsetsu abilities. And Hatenko…well, not much to say except Pokomi got embarrased by him. Oh, and all those cameoes...
! The best thing is that the funny is finally back courtesy of Don Patch, Tennosuke (their rendition of Beauty and Heppokomaru is great) and Gaoh (poor forgotten koala)!
