Really? Do that work with all the opposite gender villagers or only the ones of a peculiar personality? 'Cause I would like it if my favourite villager (Faust, a grumpy grey eagle) would have a crush on my character… I would totally put his picture in my house.

I've been buying tree saplings pretty much every day for the past month or so, steadily working towards getting a golden shovel. Once I have it, I'm doing some major landscaping.
Because it was only after buying my 20th or so tree that I remembered I just have to BUY them, not actually PLANT them.

Also, in regards to the above-discussed need for certain furniture… My new and totally obvious suggestion would be to peruse the Happy Home Showcase. Odds are that someone will have the furniture piece you're looking for. I found my Astro Wall in a matter of minutes. Of course, this relies on you having at least a modest amount of streetpassed/spotpassed houses to pick from in the first place, so it's not a universal solution but still a good one.

However, he/she/it decided on the "ornate" style, of which I have NOTHING, and Ables and Kicks today also have NOTHING. You upgrade it as far as you can to the big red store then you gotta spend a certain amount and he/she (Gracie is male in Japan I find it more amusing to have the volume off when he speaks so I'm like 'you go man' srsls) will start to appear. You gotta fulfil 4 fashion checks (it's alright to mix SOME combos but yeah… check online for guides to that) and then he/she will set up shop which will upgrade your shop into a big ass motherfucking shop.
Also why do I love the SKeleton hood so much? Combined that and this jester like mask on one of mine and it looks so good.

I just bought a 3DS and Animal Crossing: New Leaf was high on my list to buy with the system but… then I remembered my experience with the last few Animal Crossings and how guilty I feel having abandoned them. From what I understand the new one makes you feel even more guilty since this time the whole town is depending on you.
My question is: Some people have said that this game can be played for a few minutes a day and that's all it really takes to keep it running healthy. Is that true? Will doing AC every day not get in the way of me playing all the other games on my to-do list?
Or should I forget buying the game and just buy this Shizue figure: http://www.amiami.jp/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIG-MOE-9524 and call it good? (they're selling one at my local gamestore for about $20)

Yeah, I still pop it in at least every other day. Even if just to do daily stuff (money rock, sales, buying fertilizer towards the gold shovel, etc) and preempt any attempt by my favorite villagers to move out.

I've only just started playing (AFTER Pokemon instead of before like everyone else) so I'm not very far in yet.
My house is on its third expansion and is pretty much turning into a hat display and random Nintendo junk from fortune cookies. Don't really have a theme or town goal in mind yet… but I want some wolves to move into town.
Just gotta get rid of some people first.
