I want an app that plays videos in place of YouTube, unless of course their is a way to get it back?

Google has already released to the App Store a standalone iPhone/iPod touch YouTube app, which sucks a lot less than the late, unlamented Apple-developed version. They're also working on a larger-screen version for the iPad, though it isn't out yet.

This news makes me reluctant to connect my iPhone to iTunes when I have access to it in a few weeks… Then again, I never used the Apple YouTube app anyway, instead I just used the safari based mobile YouTube. Looking forward to far better YouTube apps now

thanks, will it still be called youtube or is it going under another new swanky name?

Just "YouTube". It should be the very first result. The icon is just the logo for the site.
