僕はアニメの素人だからコンテまでは全部見ているんですけど、
完璧にはイメージが出来ないので。 長峯さんありがとう。
! （映画ありきで原作を書くわけにはいかないので）海軍の歌は
原作に出てくる予定はないですけど、これから演出として使って
もらう分に違和感はないです。
! 僕は完璧主義だから全部自分でやってしまいたいけど。。。
! チョっと関われば映画はよくなるなって思ったのは、うるさく言う
人がいないんだなと。
! 最終的に作品を守るために必要なものは、コンテの段階で僕が
口を出すという権力。
! 監督に口を出せる人なんて立場的にいないしあっちゃいけない
んだけど、監督が脚本を変える力を持っているし、最終的にその
コンテをみて思い通りの背フィルとか割り当てとかいじれる権力
を下さいと言ったら「総合プロデューサー」だと。
! 鈴木おさむさんのネオ海軍やゼットの設定は練りこめば面白く
なると思いました。
! ちょっとずれてたら原作に迷惑がかかる所でしたし。
! 原作では赤犬と青キジがまだ喧嘩していないので、そこから
鈴木治さんに話をして「えっそうなんですか？」という所から
はじめていますし。

2009年公開のストロングワールドの制作時期で負担が大きくなり
1作品に2人担当という形になりました。
! ワンピースに関しては一人ではまかないきれない位なので分けて
やります。

とにかく軽々しく言えないくらい頑張る人です。
! ソウルミュージックも好きだし動物も好き、映画も好き、特に任侠
ものが大好き。
! そして最終的にそれがワンピースに向かっていく感じです。
! 1週間の仕事の流れは、月曜日が締め切りで漫画が上がって
ないとならないので、ネームに3日、作画に3日、締め切り前の
週の火曜日に打ち合わせをして、「こういう話にしましょう」とか
「これはダメですね」とか話し合います。
! この他にも尾田さんの場合はカラー原画やグッズ、映画の監修
などもあります。

! ワンピースはルフィが突っ走るとみんながしょうがないなとついて
行く。壁にぶつかるとなにやってるんだと引っ張って立て直す。
! サブキャラも非常に強烈な個性がありますが、ゾロが「ルフィが
船長だからいう事に従う」といった事で、ルフィが一味にとって
どういう立場かが色濃く出ました。
! ルフィは、グランドラインを制覇、ワンピースを見つける、海賊王
になるという3つの信念があるので、今回は自分の大切なもの、
誇り、支え、自信を取り戻すためにゼットにぶつかっていきます。
! だからやられても心は折れないんです。

Whoa, Hattori John-Baptiste Akira is back as One Piece editor? I recall he had someone else for a while.
And man, he sure looks older too.Don't have that bishounen thing going on anymore, looks more like a hipster than Jesus now.

Oda only gets 3 hours of sleep because he's busy laboring over the comics. Thnik about that the next time the comic is on break instead of whining. Seriously, I knew he was really busy, but that's really unhealthy. I have to imagine a lot of Oda's time on break is spent catching up on sleep (as well as spending some time with his family)

Jesus Christ, Oda. I hope you're okay (how long have you been doing this…?) This isn't as someone who just thinks of you as a comic conveyor belt but as a charming person.
Please consider sacrificing the art quality a bit if it lets you sleep longer.

On the plus side, you guys are really fast when it comes to one piece news -
It's actually not THAT bad if you have one or two days in the week to fully recharge your batteries, as well as one or two 20 minute naps during the day. I know at least 2 people who sleep merely 4-5 hours and have no problems at all…so I wouldn't expect anything less from someone like Oda. The pressure to constantly deliver content of this quality would kill me tho.

I've got university business to take care of during the day and work at night, so I never get more than 3 hours of sleep on weekdays.
To make up for that I sleep till 6pm on Saturdays. -
i sleep 3-4 hours every weekdays and 9-12 hours every weekends…LOL
sleeping shorter keeps my mind awake and alert, when i get more sleep, the harder it is for me to get out of bed.

It's very rare that I get more than six hours of sleep per night during the weekday. Everyone should get at least five hours of sleep at night I feel. Three hours doesn't sound healthy at all, and sometimes I think Oda would be better off if he didn't try doing so much. He strikes me as the kinda guy who just can't say no when asked to do extra stuff like bonus illustrations, or anime designs and what have you.

God I don't like the sound of Oda's sleeping hours at all. Those are like a doctors sleeping habits.

I hate to say it, but this almost seems relevant to one of One Piece's themes:
"A life isn't measured by how long it lasts, but whether it was lived courageously, happily, and without regret."
Gol D. Roger dies this way. Ace dies this way. Every character who dies in a flashback dies this way.
While it's too much of a reach to assume that Oda himself will "die this way," he certainly doesn't have any qualms about it happening in his fiction. Therefore, I'm not too surprised to hear he's living in a way that would be detrimental to his health, yet very beneficial to his work.

t think Oda is doing all this sidework to his manga just for the money. He loves to give his fans material everywhere he can and so he is not afraid of working like crazy man. Afterall he should be a damn rich man by now and as long as he has still the power and pleasure to do a lot of sideprojects he will do so. Hopefully he will settle a bit down later and then gets his full concentration on an awesome series final.(not that this wouldnt happen anyways) -
