New Portrait of Pirates figures~!

Was just checking out HLJ since the older Portrait of Pirates 1/8th scale One Piece figures were becoming discontinued, and it looks like Megahouse has added a 4th series~ Their PoP figures are probably the best renditions of the OP character's I've seen, so it's cool to see that they're still continuing :3

The new characters are;

It's good that they made another Nami, since I missed out on the first one. They're due out in late December

This makes the 4th set of PoP figures, joining set 1 (Luffy, Nami, Zoro), set 2 (Sanji, Nico Robin, Chopper+Usopp), and set 3 (Ace, Vivi, Tashigi)

3800 yen – 35 USD, not encompassing whatever obscene postage rates they charge. I'm sorry. I like Captain Smoker, but not that much. Hell, I wouldn't even pay 35 bucks for Arlong!

I STILL don't have series one and now series 4? And what a cool selection! At least if I get series 4 I'll finally have a Nami.

And it's GOTTA be Bellemere. They haven't done any bad guys. And if they were going to do a bad guy I think they would start with a cooler one (who laster longer than one shot). I want Arlong, Buggy and Crocodile when they get around to doing baddies.

I want to know what version 2 Nami is gonna be. If we're getting Bellemere then I'd really like young Nami and Nojiko. That would be so lovely.

Well, 5% discount is better than nothing. We have pictures now so it's not so much of a pot-luck. HLJ is usually good with getting up images soon, so I'd expext to see some before the month ends.

I find the price to be very good for what the figures are (They're around AUS$45). HLJ is cheaper than buying from many places too, since they sell at the Japanese retail price. Shipping isn't actually too hideous. I've ordered the PoP from HLJ before and the shipping is around US$8 if you go with SAL. I'm lucky to live closer to Japan than U.S.A, so it takes around 10 days for SAL. Never had a missing package so far anyway :laugh:

If they do Bellemere I hope they do other characters from people's pasts. Overall I'm hoping for a Shanks, Bon-Clay or Conis-chan XD. Or a Sanji version 2, hehe.

This Nami willl look very nice next to my Sanji figure though. Now to track down a Luffy…

Between Monty and I, we have the entire three sets except for Tashigi and Usopp (both of whom we're gonna try to get.) We already have the shelf picked out in our new apartment as to where they're gonna go XD!

I'm definitely glad its Bellemere and not Bellamy. She was such an admirable character, although I'm surprised they opted for her and not for Nojiko. Smoker makes sense after the Tashigi figure. The Water 7 Nami is also kind of random - I was expecting her in her Arlong outfit to go along with the Bellemere thing. I also would have curled up and died of happiness if she was in Alabasta. But…most importantly, she looks ridiculously sexy. They will be a nice addition to our collection XD

Man, Bellemere is pretty disappointing. If they do other past characters, I just want Red Leg Zeff.

Smoker looks awesome, and Nami looks HOT. But I don't really collect these things… If they made Buggy or Franky or Foxy or something I'd get one..

Ahhh, so that's what her outfit is from? I haven't seen that far (Only up to the end of Skypiea). I was thinking it would also be her Arlong outfit, going by Bellamere, but maybe they opted for something else instead. I hope some of the other characters get different renditions too XD. It's interesting how they also opted for Skypiea outfits for the other PoP series.

The only ones I have at the moment are Sanji and Ace;

However, I'm waiting for Zoro in the mail next week, and Robin should (hopefully) ship sometime soon too. I nabbed her at the last minute when I realised they were running out, but wasn't fast enough for Nami. I was thinking of getting Tashigi at the time as well, but didn't have enough money T_T. Nowadays I have expendable income, and 4 other things on order for later in the year >_>. Just sent through my order for Nami as well.

When the thread was first posted, there were no images, hence my complaint. The Smoker one, the only one I'd consider buying (and that if they dropped it to USD 15 or so only), doesn't look half bad.

I guess I can't indict the price THEY'RE charging, just the general price it starts at. It's a lot of money for a figure. Perhaps it's time for a generic 12" doll to have a cosplay adventure.

Why do the text packages next to Nami and Bellemere end with a heart graphic, yet poor Smoker doesn't get one?

I made it known to the store I shop that I expect a set of these set aside for me (not a true pre-order but they take care of me and I get 10% off so it's all good). I really love the new Nami and can't wait to add it to my (obscenely large) collection.

What I really want in the next couple of rounds of POP is some villains and some flashback figures.

Seriously, who wouldn't want little Sanji and Zeff? Little Zoro and Kuina (sp?)? Little Luffy and Shanks? Little Nami and Nojiko? I would kill for those (not really, but I would pay a lot of money for them).

If I had lots of money to burn, I'd buy them all, but I have to be selective, unfortunately. The only one I have now is Usopp, which comes with Chopper. I'd like to have the rest of the Strawhats and Ace. I kind of want Tashigi too, her design is just too cute.

It would be cool if they did Sogeking too.

I know what you mean DX. My figures have taken over my computer desk, slowly but surely. I'm gonna have to squish 'em all in somewhere. I suppose if I get desperate I can put them on my bookshelf. But I like to have them in a more visible line of sight X3

Yeah, most scaled models are around 3000-5000+ yen. I'd say they're well priced, but they can seem a bit expensive. I wouldn't mind seeing a doll Smoker cosplay though XD

Wow, those pictures kind of make me want to buy the line. I don't really like that nami one, but smoker and bellemere look awesome. Bellemere's text says "nojiko, nami!! I love you" while nami's says "happiness punch." I can't be certain of the rest without furigana .
