I'm sure this has already been considered, but if Law was working for Doflamingo, then perhaps it was Doflamingo who is responsible for getting him the Shichibukai position? Law may be unaware of this fact and believes he was offered it on his own merit, but wouldn't it be a great reveal for Doflamingo to announce that this was all part of his plan. Maybe that is why he wanted to get rid of Gecko Moria?

Helmeppo did randomly get cyclops shades - why can't Crocodile have ridiculous hair? And Crocodile does show interest in weapons, and worked underground for years. The only thing that forces people to trash the idea is the laughable hair.

Why everyone thinks that the bystanders are on PH itself? I see some sort of screens (just like the big screens used on Shabaody Archipelago during the Marineford battle) so that would mean that they can be right next to PH but they can also be reaaaaally far away from it.

At least the guy with the cigarette isnt someone we have seen(same goes for the female imo but at least that one has some common features with known characters). If you want to compare him or say he is someone we saw compare him with someone who has at least a slight resemble to him and not just say he is a known character who got a freak makeover.

My only hope is Kid doesn't two metal arms LOL. As for the shadowed characters Kid & Tebago (whatever his name is) are the only ones we know. We definitely haven't seen afro cigar before though he kind looks like Shiki a little, and the one in the bottom right could be Hawkins or Sarquiss or an unknown. An ok build up chapter, firebird star was the best part (along with those two not shitting themselves in the face of a more powerful opponent), even being a Kid fan since he wasn't fully revealed I wasn't as happy as I should be. I really hope to hear more about Doflamingo. This arc is weird as I can' tell if it's going to expand to other islands or how long it will last, I do think it's safe to say Doflamingo won't be reached this arc and probably the next.

But I can understand fans who want the unknown ones to be chars from the past:
Oda knows how to bring up old chars back in the story playin quite important roles
(Croc, Buggy, anyone?)
And in the post war arc, it was quite foreshadowed that we c some of them again for sure.
Oda creates a uncomparable network between all those chars webbin together a great main story, so I can understand the people who like to see one of those chars again (be it Croc, Buggy, or the SNs in this case). -

My guess is that the only one able to beat him (from the ones residing at Punk Hazard) is either:
- Law with a proper one-shot MES
- Smoker, old fashioned Logia vs. Logia battle.
I'm calling it now, Smoker will be the one who defeats CC.
- He said his top priority is getting his heart back, Caesar has it.
- Smoke could be the counter to gas, if he compoletely transforms into smoke he doesn't need air. Tashigi simply failed at utilizing the Moku Moku no Mi, Smoker will show how it is done.

That guy already is called one of the Yonkou. If he has an alliance, he has an alliance like WB had back at the war. Though I doubt that judging from Jinbe's story only his crew hunts for DFs without the help of other crews. -

Wow, been so long since I've read a chapter without seeing the spoiler. Feels refreshing.
First up: New cover chapter and I'm betting my ass its about Caribou (the silhouette in the far back looks like him)
The content is just expositions, though we now know BrownBeard has switched sides, and how CC managed to take out Luffy n the rest.
But the sweet cherry on top of the cake is the of weapon-dealer-video-conference thing. It opens up lots of possible plot (for one, Big Mom is also watching and we know Luffy will screw up CC's plan. Who knows, Big Mom won the deal but alas, the weapon got destroyed by Luffy)
And those 2 mysterious silhouette….. Hawkins with a new sword? Capone with his hats off? Totally new character??? Kaido??

In the current situation the one who will bring CC down is Kinemon with his fire sword style.Vergo will go down from one of the guys in the prison (either Smoker after he gets back in his body,Luffy or Law).Still if I am completely wrong I think that Kinemon is going to have a major role in the next few chapters.Many people think that he's going to be the Vivi of this arc,I disagree with that just because it's way too predictable.If Oda decides to go with a story pattern he used before I think the story will start being kind of generic and boring.Just my opinion though.

Okay, I think we are making some progress to uderstand each other.
Perhaps I should have said the explosin is not as large as anime sicne they often exagerate things, esp on attacks that are not clear. By the "ciricular explosion radiating out" I meant just that, it radiates from the center. Its not as flashy as the anime, but in my own opnion, there is some form of radiating out form a center point. Perhap if I had marked the area that I personally see as a ciricular then you would have understood me better and said that as flames, its broken and not a solid circle, I would made myself more celar. I can see your point of view there, since I said circular, people would look for as it appeared in anime- a solid circle.
I re-did the picture to show what part of the flames sugggests a circular radiation from a center point.

It's not pure gas, it has particles of burnt articles, whethter is from a forest fire or cigarettes. According Wki's definion =

I see Luffy beating Vergo as Vergo seems to have an unexplained ability to make Law worthless and it would be Luffy repaying one of the many "debts" he owes. CC and Kinemon would be nice. I don't foresee a battle royale with all these people in the NW but it could happen, either way I have a feeling we've got 5 or 6 more set up chapters before the real action begins.

I think them being Kaidou's subordinates is a good possibility. Rockstar was also sent by Shanks to give WB a message. I think it could be Hawkins but it could also be someone new (more likely). Everytime I think overall picture of the arc is painted and we just have to fill in the pieces, Oda expands the picture. As it is right now with these new players and CC and Law and Smoker and Vergo and Doflamingo and Kinemon this arc is a completely open arc, it could go 1000s of ways atm

I don't think it is an ability, but more like something from Law's past (while he was still working under Dofla). I guess it is either a device similar to the slave collars at Saobody, or Law presented him his own heart as a sign of loyalty.
In any case, I really doubt Vergo has an ability that brings someone like Law to his knees without even lifting a finger.

Anyone else get pissed at Nami in this chapter?
I mean, sure. You can want to help the kids, and you can be idealistic about how you do it. But they have about a dozen giant children who are out of their minds at the moment, threatening to beat them to death while Caeser Clown looms in the background. Take care of the kids first however you can while doing what you can to not hurt them, then deal with the mad doctor with near godlike powers behind you.
Anyway.
Franky seems to be JUST waking up while Caeser is making his announcement. And if he's breaking free, he's not doing it through strength, but by picking the locks with his tiny hands. Or maybe we'll see a return of the Coup de Poo? Failing that, the captured group is going to be used in Caeser's experiment, where they'll make tidy work of Smiley, ruin Caeser and expose Wergo while being broadcast to the various groups.
As for who those four are? Well… two of them are obvious. Kid and Pekoms/Tamago. The cigar-guy being Shilliew is compelling, but there's another figure in that panel, and I can't think of anyone in Blackbeard's crew (from two years ago) that fits his profile. The long haired person with a sword MIGHT be Hawkins, but comparing the profile to the one in the promotional poster for the timeskip Supernova, the clothing, hairstyle and jawline look different. Also, if Oda wanted us to recognize it as Hawkins, he'd put in something that is instantly recognizable about him. Now... if what that person is holding is a card? Then yeah, I'm instantly convinced.

This is the cover of the issue of Jump that One Piece first appeared. While it is issue number 34 it says (in Japanese, right under the big 34) ８月４日 (August 4th), which was the first Monday of August. I guess the magazine could have come out earlier than the date on the cover, which would explain what Greg is talking about, not that I don't trust Greg, it's just that I'm looking at the cover for the issue, and it says 8/4. -

My guess is that Smoker has better control over smoke than Caesar. Its his element after all. If he didn't then Caesar's fruit would seem a little too overpowered, being able to control all gases. But we will just have to wait until the moment comes.
Also, I wonder if CC can manipulate gases within air-tight containers. I mean the gas has to go somewhere, right? Mayble putting on some sort of oxygen mask will help to counteract his abilities, both oxygen deprivation and poison gas.

Caeser should not be able to control smoke at all, there is more than just gas to make smoke.

I'm with you completely on this, and as I've stated in previous posts concerning this topic..What would even be the point of bringing the straw hats into the New World if there weren't, you know, new characters to go along with it? For people to say it makes it less interesting for them to be new makes me wonder if they really have given up hope and just want the same recycled characters over and over..
I get that there are old story lines for characters that are hanging around, but there's a reason for that..It's all going to tie together sooner or later, you just have to be patient because it's obvious that Oda still has a lot of story left to tell..

Caesar is a little bit better as a villain than Hody was. Mad scientist seems better than a racist fishman any day. All the stuff he doing to the kids is pissing me off though. I know nami felt bad for those kids. too bad she didn't know haki. Love seeing Kidd again but was that Basil hawkins at the end of the chapter?
