Sorry if this is a duplicate thread, I searched and found nothing.
I saw some footage for this game before it came out, and thought it looked pretty stupid. It looked like a generic third person shooter and that is, to some extent, true. The gameplay is standard tps fair. The story though, that's what it does right. This game has god-tier storytelling, it honestly is amazing. It's a shame that it couldn't have been used for a game with equally good gameplay. The story to me feels like a combination of Apocalypse Now and Bioshock, with some breathtaking sequences and quite a bit of choices you're allowed to make that really will make you cringe and kind of feel disgusted in yourself when you think about it. It also goes to places that few video games in my experience have gone. That's all I'll say. Go play for yourself. If you can rent it, do so, as I don't think it's worth $50/$60, but when it drops in price some I'm going to pick it up in a heartbeat and play it again, as I have it rented right now.
