I thought I'd share this one great site in particular for those who want to expand their jazz and instrumental collections.
I](http://rappamelo.com/) came upon it while looking for Nujabes discography, but not too long ago I actually realized that the site was still being updated, daily! A lot of good stuff in there. Excellent place for jazz and instrumental artists in particular. All the way from 1939 to 2012.

By the way this guy was generally the tastemaster of the internet when it came to music
He died of cancer a few years back, but his entire blog remains here and it's a great place to look over if you never have.

If you want a real source of very hidden gems across all kinds of music, try this. That dude knows his music.

Since I found Comus awhile back I've been itching for some more good you know what ever they are… Acid folk? :S (That's according to wikipedia, I have no clue!)
-
Comus is awesome. I can't say I know of anything that's like them. You could try the similar artists from Last.fm.
-
Here ya go

Magma and Univers Zero on the first page.
Eh, not that similar too Comus though.
I'll check out some of those artists anyway,
thanks a bunch! -
Could I ask here if you guys know some artist who sing /play in the style of Jamiroquai and/or Outasight?

Last.fm artists that are listed this way aren't "similar"
They're just bands that people who listen to one artist also listen to when enough people listen to them
it's why when pitchfork gives something a good review, that artist's "similar artists" turn into everything that Pitchfork gave BEST NEW MUSIC too. because its most common artists in people's libraries just turn into that
at least that's how it always was when I was on last.fm in 2007

In my case it would seem true. I checked some of the bands in the link Sakonosolo provided. It was mostly progressive rock. And while Comus is kinda progressive… It's not really rock. :S
Still. Lots of good band on the list.
I mean... Magma and Univers Zero. :wub:EDIT: Forgot to say that Spirogyra was on the list and pretty much what I was looking for... Maybe something with a little more drive. But yeah. :)

I think it also compares the tags that are put on the artists but even if they're similar or the same genre doesn't necessarily mean they'll sound similar. Exuma was one of the similar artists and I think he sounds cool. What sucks is that a lot of the bands I like, like Comus, only get a couple albums before splitting up.

If you want to experience the many facets electronic music has, I can recommend this site.

I'll check out Exuma again then. :) Lists like these are cool but humans are much better at determining things like these.
Comus really only made that one good album(First Utterence) in my mind… :/ -
Here's something similar to the above I think. Lets you hear the different subgenres of metal. Since electronic music and metal are the genres that are split into a bunch of subgenres the most .

Comus really only made that one good album(First Utterence) in my mind… :/They have 2 or 3 albums but their first one is the only one that's worth listening to in my opinion.

I'll be 100% honest: I think I don't even know a single band in there (at least, concerning metal and prog).
I'm having a ball here.
So far, tried and liked: Spite Extreme Wing, Hammers of Misfortune, Mammatus and Eternal Elysium (listening to them right now; they FUCKING ROCK. Like, REALLY HARD).
And some others. This is gonna be long.
-
I don't know if I said it in here but if you like Hammers of Misfortune, listen to Slough Feg.
-
They are next then. Hammers are good so far.
Any album in particular?
-
Traveller is my favorite. It's a concept album based on the tabletop game of the same name.

I'm guessing this would be the place to ask this instead of making a new thread, so here goes:
Does anyone know of any Russian bands whose styles are similar to Neue Deutsche Härte bands'?I love NDH and while dreaming one night a brilliant idea came to me: bands I like go to Russia -> Russian fans seem to love the bands I also love -> so maybe Russia also has similar music that I would like but it would sound fresher because it would probably be in Russian. I know I don't have good logic but it peaked my curiosity.
-
Is NDH stuff like Rammstein? The heaviest Russian band I've listened to (out of not very many) is Amatory, they're sort of death metalish I think. Sorry if that's not what you mean. On that note though, I love Nena a lot and would like some recommendations of more stuff like her, Neue Deutsche Welle. Russian artists specifically but any language is welcome. Last.fm only has more German music on the recommendation list.
-
Yup, Rammstein is considered NDH. And I gave Amatory a try. I liked the first song that came up on the YouTube search but after that songs had more screaming. So yeah, they seem too death metal-ish for me. :/ But yay for hearing one new song I like! :D
Searches Neue Deutsche Welle on Wikipedia and looks at convenient list I've only heard of two artists listed there, so I can't say I know much about it… And I don't know of much of anything Russian. >.<;
-
NDH is basically a crossover genre between industrial and alternative metal, charcteristic to the German scene, isn't it. Honestly, I am not familiar with the NDH outside of Oomph and Rammstein, so I will try to go by the most simple definition.
The closest to your request is Digimortal. Strong vocals, both melodic and aggresive songs, incorporating traditional metal and industrial synthetic music. Also, they are Fear Factory fans. The other bands sound more like industrial moving towards alternative, so it's hard to give a clearer definition. Listen yourself and figure out if they fit what you are looking for.

! (Bumblebees) and Tetrayder are two bands from the more experimental scene, but they still share the industrial elements.!
! lol Amatory. I haven't listened to them since at least 2005. It's as nu metal as it gets. -
Searching for some trip hop songs that would be close in in tone to these,
!
I rather like the calmness those songs generate, I'm less fond of it if they turn to melancholic.
Those are just examples, but to name other bands of the genre who have quite a few songs that I like gorillaz and massive attack, I guess.
Didn't have much luck finding anything else though, last thing I checked was birdpen. -
Heh, I was going to recommend Archive before opening your spoiler. I would like some recs too.
