But Kaepernick isn't a rookie…
-
Happy Thanksgiving fellow football fans!
Houston at Detroit
Washington at Dallas
New England at New York Jets -
Wow, we literally just saw the Lions get cheated by the refs.
If the Lions lose, those Refs better run fast.
-
Second straight overtime game for Houston.
-
Wow, that loss has to hurt.
Go Skins!

It was Schwarz's fault, not the refs'

Not one ref blew the whistle when he was obviously down. You'd have to be blind or not paying attention to not see him laying there. Also the rule is the dumbest thing in the universe. Especially since it negates a challenge altogether.
-
Beautiful, just beautiful
good game by both teams
-
Wow. That victory sure feels hollow…what a dumb rule. As much as I wanted Houston to win, that call just makes things sour. And even so, once again we had to play into overtime. Blegh.
-
I don't feel bad about the play tbh. Our guy recognized an opening when even the other team didn't. They could have still stopped him
their coach fucked up, the refs screwed up, and we took advantage of it just as if it had been a fumble or slip up by the opposing team

sure the refs made a mistake, but Schwarz shouldn't have thrown the challenge. Play was obviously gonna be reviewed like every scoring play and the TD would be taken back. Schwarz himself immediately blamed himself for the mistake.

It's a brand new rule, and after years of doing it one way, can you blame a coach for instinctively throwing it out there?
The problem lies in the rule. It shouldn't negate a review.

I'm not defending the rule. I'm saying you can't blame the refs for correctly applying it. Schwarz immediately knew he f-cked up, it's HIS fault. It's too easy to always put the blame on the refs
-
Houston also fumbled a punt away that the refs didn't overturn. And speaking as a neutral fan, that definitely hit the Texans player. And yeah, that "touchdown" should have never even got to that point to begin with. I actually knew that rule because it happened in the Packers/Colts game earlier this year. What I don't get is why it's applied to attempted challenges on touchdowns and not on turnovers.
Detroit got screwed. They did more to earn the win. Of course it happened early so there's no guarantee they would have won, but they definitely got the raw end.
-
35 points in a quarter. Jets are in for a long night. Especially if they can't hold onto the football.

11 and 3 last week. 101 and 58 overall (not counting the Thanksgiving games).

Colin Kaepernick is getting the start again over Alex Smith, which is a shame in my eyes considering Alex Smith has done nothing wrong. What sucks more about Harbaugh making this decision is that he went through this same shit when he played.

Damn, missed the rest of the week to do picks.

Well, this will be the game to shut every body up calling us lazy, clinch a play off spot, and make sure we get closer to keeping the first seed. So I expect us to play our best of the season so far. I think the team knows that it's an important game so I'm excited more than nervous this week.~! woo! go Texans!
-
Niners deserved that loss. That's what you get for throwing Alex Smith under a bus, you terrible fans!

Agreed.
((wooo, go texans! 11-1 baby! >:D ))
So, can I just say that the Chiefs totally deserved that emotional win today. After what happened the night prior, and then having what it takes to pull off a victory? Even for some of the best teams, even my own Texans, That would be one of the most difficult things to focus on; winning. At least in my own honest opinion. So I say to you Chiefs, and Chiefs fans. What an awesome win. It doesn't matter who you played because you came out there with passion emotion, heart, and a drive; a goal, if you will. and you achieved that goal. Well done I say. Well done!
now all I want is the ravens to lose. :/

I agree. My Packers are going to make a run once we get damn Matthews back and our defense isn't in shambles. I'm predicting Packers over Falcons and Ravens over Texans for Superbowl. You heard it here first :P

I had really wanted the Raiders to win last night, and I was really hyped when they managed to get 3 sacks in and a touchdown during the first half, but I had to go to bed during the second half, and from there they weren't able to catch up apparently. I'm no football expert, but they're defense seemed…uncoordinated? I don't know, they just seemed to be all over the place at times.
-
Skins vs Ravens…. we've (apple) just reached overtime...
hands down.. BEST GAME OF THE WEEK... it doesn't matter what comes on next... this is game of the week!
Matt Damon is awesome. Old school cereal is better than new school ya damn rugrats

It became too tedious for me.
LOL well I (pear) needed Cincinnati and the Steelers to loose (I'm a Ravens fan).
Falcons…. I'm disappoint
Wonder what team Matt Damon likes? Back in the earlier days of football tickets didn't cost as much. I HATE the way of today!!!!
-
Bears chances of getting to the playoffs is in jeopardy.
Ravens-Skins game was a classic. Hope RG3 is ok.
-
Fuck the Chargers.
Now they find it in themselves to not only win, but actually score points in the second half. For once they dominated the entire game, and, on top of that, they recorded the franchise's first ever regular season win against the Steelers.
I know I should be happy about the win, but it's too late, and if anything, they'll somehow win out and then Spanos another reason to keep the Dastardly Duo around. -
I would like to see the skins get into the playoffs so I was hoping that the Giants would lose. I wasn't surprised that they won. No fret tho… the Falcons lost this week so they will be out for blood next week and the Giants have just appeared on their menu!
-
That Redskins game was amazing. So was the Cowboys game for that matter, and I didn't even really care about it. I hope RG3's sprained knee doesn't limit him much. I'm definitely rooting for the Redskins to make the playoffs. They just need to win out against a very easy schedule and have the Giants lose to either the Falcons or Ravens on the road. Although I suppose the Giants might then get the Wild Card and scare me anyway.
But as a Packer fan, the game of the week for me was Chicago losing to Minnesota. Thanks Cutler! If the Packers beat the Bears next week, they'll clinch the NFC North then and there. The fact that I called the upset only makes it better for me. I don't even want to hear about the injuries considering all the players the Packers are playing without. I'm seeing a lot of similarities to that 2010 run lately. Mostly in overcoming a mountain of injuries and finally finding a running game in December.
Great game tonight that I'm not sure whether I'll be able to watch or not. I'm out of town and I had to go to a sports bar last night to see the Packer game, which was decently interesting. I'd have to do the same thing tonight, which isn't impossible but I can only bail on visiting family so much.
-
Texans I'm disappoint
I was expecting AT LEAST an even game.
-
Yeah that was surprising.
What? I watch NFL games from time to time. I'm still loling at the cardinals for going on a shit streak ever since losing to the rams when they were 4-0.
-

LOL I know right? At the beginning of the season I was like "Damn the 49ers and Cardinals aren't taking any prisoners this season" but then they showed their true colors later on. Same thing happened to the Eagles this season. I'm still mad that one of their early wins came from the Ravens
-

One of these things is not like the other.
The Niners are still kicking ass this season, and they will make it back to the NFC Championship and probably to the Superbowl IF Smith gets the start back.
The Football Gods don't look favorably on the mistreatment of a QB who has done nothing wrong. -

The Football Gods don't look favorably on the mistreatment of a QB who has done nothing wrong.Sorry for the confusion. Let me clarify this. "Damn the 49ers and Cardinals aren't taking any prisoners this season" is indeed the exact thought I had the beginning of the season. When I made mention of the "but then they showed their true colors later on." portion, I was only referring to the Cardinals. This misunderstanding is my fault because I did not properly make the distinction in my post. And yes the 9ers are kicking ass, but preferably I would like to see the Falcons go at it with the Packers in the NFC champs.
-
The NFC is fairly wide open. The Falcons, 49ers, Packers, and Giants could all just as easily make a run through the playoffs as the others. All 4 teams can be seemingly invincible when they're clicking. I'm not sure I can see any other NFC teams run a 3 game gauntlet through the playoffs (with those 4 teams) to the Super Bowl under any normal circumstances.
-
Smith won't be back in the lineup unless Kaep gets hurt or starts throwing 3 picks a game. Right now I'm not seeing much of a difference between the two besides Kaep's running ability. A 50 yard run two weeks in a row which broke a 49er record for a QB.
Smith has the experience and just knows the playbook better which is why we had to burn timeouts so we wouldn't get a delay of game.
Niners and Pats should be interesting. This is the NFL so yeah the Pats can blow out this team or that team but they can also lose to the Seahawks and the Cardinals and then blow out the rams. The Rams are 4-0-1 in the NFC west…The NFL is unpredictable which makes it great.

Late, but the redskins game was gold. My house was roaring of skin fan's, and bawlllinggg raven fans lmao

You a fellow Marylander? I grew up in Laurel (most of my extended family still lives in and around the area) and our house had the Redskin faction (which included those who were Baltimore Colts fans) and then the Ravens fans. That's why the Skins are my "NFC Team" kind of. Though I moreso passively root for them. When both them and the Bolts are done I fall back on the Ravens, but I hate having to do that.
-
Ravens are falling apart, they need to fix their broken defense before anything else. I think they're down to 5 of their original starters on D.
-

Oh Laurel, my cousin used to live there. I'm up in Annapolis currently, my house is also skin faction but my neighbors and one of my uncles are all Ravens.
-
Houston looked awful last night. Both of my super bowl picks just got manhandled this week.
-
The Bucs losing to the Eagles pretty much erased their playoff hopes :'(
Oh well.
Fantasy playoffs are well underway! I want that trophy!
