Opening 17: "Wake Up!", January 19th

Wow I'm so glad I unsubscribe to him a long time ago. He gets on my nerve. Did he think he's funny or something? That's embarrassing.
most of the onepiece "reviewer" are kinda useless.Their "comment" of the chapter is usually just repeating what happens in it..and when they try to do some prediction, they are usually totally wrong…and not the "he totally couldn't have predicted that" kind of wrong, but the "i don't really know what are the already established rules of the onepiece world" one.Even live reactions are usually kinda ridicolous
! there were people screaming or crying when sabo showed up..I mean, I like sabo ,but screaming around?
I only found one that's usually enjoyable while "live-reactioning",but he is now on hiatus for some personal problems it seems

Oh god…... Congratulations you are now the most disturbing One Piece fan-boy. I feel ashamed for everyone.
Wow…
Remember back when being a One Piece fan wasn't embarrassing? This guy just ruined it.
-
Finally got a chance to see the opening. How to describe it….
Busy, for one. It's certainly fast-paced and the music is energetic, fitting for the arc that's about to premere in the anime. But it had the usual "crew does stuff on Sunny, then cue shots of everyone using powers to beat up mooks" montage, then again.....fighting the Admirals. Somehow I liked and didn't like that.
Luffy talking with Blackbeard? That's pretty cool. Showing Doflamingo and his crew was pretty neat too, although the opening as a whole is a giant spoiler.
! Nami/Brook/Chopper turned into Jora's art, I think that was my favorite part
-
-
I didn't realize there was a new opening.
…
Well that was terrible. It was really obvious this time that they were padding the opening for the 2 minutes. Blech. I'm sick and tired of shots pans of the characters standing watching the sunset like it's the best fucking thing ever. Whatever. I like the end though, when it actually did something interesting. Spoilerific, but One Piece openings aren't exactly known for being discreet.

@The:
Here you go
I love you so much

Omg.
So many whiners.
CRY SOME MORE -
Omg.
So many whiners.
CRY SOME MOREYeah. Because criticism is just "hating", and obviously it doesn't have anything wrong with it because it has a wave of critics.
This opening is pure perfection and a masterpiece of art.
Like the shit I took this morning.
-
Looked at the opening quite a few times.
I like the animation so much that I still hadn't paid attention to the music.
It doesn't seem bad_,_ I only liked "We Are" so far LOLDon't read all the pages of the discussion, sorry, and can't remember well, but have the Mugiwara outfits already appeared in some color spread?
-
Don't know why they drew Blackbeard with his old appearance.
! Wouldn't want to spoil his pimp new braided beard, though.
-

Well your shit must have been a bundle of sunshine.
Like you.

omgwtfbbq.
just watched it on YouTube.
at first I think am I getting mature, or this song is very childish with addition of everyone colorful costume.
hope to get Latin aroma cuz this is Dressroa and Doflamingo yeah.and then the next thing, Trio Monster vs Admirals. Mind rape.
-
Jesus some of you people must shit bricks every morning with the grumpiness I detect.
Anyway, on my second and third view I decided I really like the song as well. It's growing on me.
-
It appears the sign wasn't up. How can people know they're not allowed to take enjoyment out of anything without the sign? -
Just watched it. I didn't really like it. It was catchy, but there have been way better openings. I haven't listened to them in a while, but this one seemed to go on forever. Would it kill them to shorten them by a minute? I didn't like the dialogue in the middle either.
You know, why do anime actually find the need to constantly change themes anyway? American shows tend to stick with one song (Not to say they never change them), but anime tend to constantly get new ones. Beelzebub had like 90 episodes and about 9 or 10 openings (Maybe. I don't know the actual number, but it changed really often). On the other hand HxH hasn't changed the song(Though, I haven't watched in a while. Since episode 92), and have only updated the video. I think I prefer it that way..
-
I wish they'd go back to the 1.5 minute intro and outro combo. Ever since they dropped the outros and doubled the intro length they've all seemed very drawn out and underwhelming. There's just something wrong when the title card doesn't appear until 5 minutes into the episode.
-

Yeah he's the definition of a piece tard.
-
That was so disappointing , such huge spoilers.
I really loved the debate about Fuji, admiral or shichibukai…
-
Oh god…... Congratulations you are now the most disturbing One Piece fan-boy. I feel ashamed for everyone.
!
The fuck?
What he needed was to get laid, but I guess it's too late now, after this vid.

@Aru:
I won't even tell what I think about people who spoil a lot of great stuff in an opening - this alone would be enough to make me angry. I can take a small snippet or a shadow, like Doflamingo in the last opening fixing his glasses, but this? This is punching someone who only watches the anime with a hammer while screaming into his ear every last bit.
@LordEnel:
That was so disappointing , such huge spoilers.
People often complain about openings spoiling things, but bar something really obvious and major like Robin joining the crew (And that was totally a bizarro spoiler well before the story was actually to that point) most of the time the little clips, without context, don't mean much of anything to a viewer, and they don't know its a spoiler or an upcoming scene unless someone is yelling at them "That's a spoiler! How could they ruin that?"
ESPECIALLY when shows mix in random clips of stuff that never happens or have massive upcoming character montages in every opening. They've had Shanks and Mihawk in every opening since they started, and Blackbeard since he became pertinent, and all the warlords since we saw all of them for the first time…. but it doesn't always mean those guys are coming.
Manga reader: "Oh no, the opening showed off that new character, how could they give that away?"
Anime watcher: "Who is that guy?" -
I just remembered that opening with Robin. It was before I started following manga. I was like, wtf is that lady doing on Merry?
But I think Luffy and those ID prisoners dropping down on Marineford together was lot worse.
-
The one thing in the opening that is undeniably spoiled is
! the blind guy in the bar next episode being Fujitora, something that's not revealed until several chapters later. Not the biggest spoiler ever but something that isn't meant to be known right off.
Unlike the random snippets during the Dressrosa scenes, it's clear right off that this guy is an admiral just by the way he's dressed and standing alongside Kizaru and Aikanu as one of the "big 3." Not to mention his face is right in front of the screen making his identity in the next episode unmistakeable.
-
As much as people disagree about spoilers, some of the arc's mystery will be absent with 3 major character identities are thrown out us. Don't get me wrong I really enjoy this opening (just not cringe fan responses):
! Issho Fujitora is a Marine Admiral. Weird how they decided to go forward with it, the full trio hasn't even been revealed yet!
! The existence of faeries are indeed true and they are actually dwarfs.
! Viola works under Doflamingo. -

It appears the sign wasn't up. How can people know they're not allowed to take enjoyment out of anything without the sign? There's a difference between enjoyment and outright being obnoxious, especially when some of us don't find the wasted spam posts funny at all.

This. I wasn't bothered too much with the spoilers considering, well, Robin; everything in the Dressrosa part was pretty decent and pretty safe if you ask me. The pan shot of the Donquixote officers wasn't much of a surprise considering they did the same thing in Opening 5 (well, minus that spoiler they added).
Fujitora on the other hand…but whatever. I just love that I know his color scheme.
Also no flashy clothing for Chinjao q.q

I honestly liked it.
General Franky Vs. John Giant made my day.
-
I like this opening. Wasn't really expecting the admiral stuff but it was cool. I liked the Blackbeard part, I was really shocked to see him. The rest of the opening was cool, can't wait to see this stuff animated!

How many chapters did it take between the introduction of the character and this being revealed, again?
How long is this character on-screen for in the opening, again?
How many other characters does this character share the screen with in the opening, again?
What are the chances of someone actually paying close enough attention during both the opening and this character's scenes that they'd actually notice, again? -
When I first started watching OP, I was taping it on VCR (yeah, it's been that long). After watching it the first time, I'd go over every single frame of the opening and memorize every single person appearing there. I think I was like 16-17. My bro was 10-11 and he did the same. Not saying everyone is like that, but still.
It's funny when I think about it, at first I thought it was going to be some short anime, and that those guys who appeared on the opening will be all the enemies he would face. Seems hillarious now.

What are the chances of someone actually paying close enough attention during both the opening and this character's scenes that they'd actually notice, again?1)around 9/10 chapter..so 9/10 episode at least in the anime (probably more since they will probably fillerize dressrosa a bit since we are this close to the manga) ,that means 2 and a half months too early at best
2)just a few seconds, but a few seconds that people are going to watch before EVERY episode..they might miss the detail the first time, the second one..but sooner or later they are going to notice .! 3)the third question doesn't matter, since she appears in the spread together with all the doflamingo family members,so it's not like people can notice her and don't understand what her inclusion means.
4)as I said, the intro is not something you just watch one time..it's gonna play before every episode, one way or the other, peple are going to notice. -
There's plenty of people that just skip the openings so they can get to the actual episode. Not to say there wouldn't be some people that would spot Violet but really, what does it matter? Not like we're seeing so-and-so walking around.
-
I have a friend who absolutely refuses to read the manga and watches the anime exclusively. I showed him this opening and asked him to analyze the opening.
"not a fan of the song"
"at least it shows some cool fighting scenes with the marines"
"although sanji would probably get killed by old man kiz"
"the bandana (on luffy) doesnt look good though"
"cool new characters, nice animation"Although my friend may be an outlier, he wasn't upset or notice any spoilers that may have occurred in the opening after watching it a few times. I thought it was a great opening IMO, definitely gets me excited for the show.
-
Crunchyroll now has subs for the opening, starting with Episode 630.
-
I like the opening and song more than I did a few days ago, the opening has some awesome moments (the fight scenes and Blackbeard talking imo), and for the people that don't like spoilers (like me), it didn't spoil Dressrosa much at all.
-
I liked this opening a lot, Time skip wise this is probably my favorite opening yet. Luffy V.S BlackBeared scene really has me pumped for that fight, I can't wait till Luffy sees the guy again, man tension will be nuts

This op is crazy.
From the strawhats fighting the entire marine force,
To Blackbeard mocking Luffy and he returns his mockery with the classic pirate king statement and dives in to fight,
And then the whole Dress Rosa scenery and characters
It's just crazy
