Eiichiro Oda messege about new Knowledge King Contest in Japan!!
-
Franky Statue will be installed on 21th November 2020 .
-
That's great to see how Oda is not living on some kind of cultural island, like some other authors, and that he's constantly reading, watching stuff… I mean, you don't find the inspiration for such a long lasting franchise, otherwise. Is there another thread that I missed about the opposite situation (One Piece references from other artists)?

Brook's looks great! I was hoping they'd make him standing, but knowing how tall he actually is I could understand why they made him like this. So looking forward to Franky's!! I'm sure it is going to be SUPER!!! regardless of whether he's standing or on Franky tank mode.

Wait isn't the one who drew that the guy who wrote a few popular romcoms that may or may not turn out to be a truck wreck.
Wow I didn't know he would one day draw something for One Piece.
Well considering his current series, I could see why. -

One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Wish I could have it in my home.
The lack of Doflamingo in the warlords section is a surprising omission, but aside from that it's just about perfect.
Some more stills of it from twitter:
-
Truly majestic.
I think they didn't include Doflamingo because the sculpture is only using characters who are still active… but Mingo, Crocodile and Moria would make it better indeed. I also miss the admirals.

Gold Roger at the bottom, carrying the age of pirates on his back is really cool.
I kind of wish Vivi and Sabo got on there somehow. Both are important and likely to be key to upcoming events so it would've been nice if they got on somehow.
