Oh looked, I'm a discovered now. I guess I'll ask this then.
On the assumption that you desire children, or on the hypothetical standpoint of you having them. I ask, would you show One Piece to them, and what age would you start?
Personally, I'd show them it when they're around 5-6. I'm not the kind of guy who believes cartoon blood scars (especially when the blood in One Piece looks so much like ketchup, especially when animated) children, along with the presence of boobs, and penis jokes. And kids curse behind your back anyways. XD
(Of course, in my case, I'd show them the manga when they're just a little older, since the blood there is just a little more intense; what with actual scars being made in intense ways, such as half of Whitebeard's face being blown off and all.)
I believe that the message behind One Piece, is much stronger than any of those, "bad influences", and the themes are strong enough to reach a young audience. They talk of friendship in hope, in the face of real adversary. Luffy is a hero who wins, not just through dumb luck and determination, but also through strategy, and experiencing defeat. And the fact that he is defeated at multiple times, just makes the theme of "follow your dream", all that much stronger.
Edit: Never did mention this: I'd probably show them two episodes a week and let the munckins grow up watching it if they'd take an interest in it. Phew, how the years would go by.
Edit 2: I wouldn't, force it on them, if they didn't like it I'd stop showing them. Or do you call showing them Disney films forcing something on them?
But that's just me, what would you guys do?
