Create Your Own Devil Fruit

I thought up of a Devil Fruit quite awhile ago, but then Oda made a better, less OP version of it for Viola…sort of.
I called it the think-think fruit, or the mind-mind fruit, which essentially gives you a control panel to other people's minds. It was designed for an OC of mine, so I had her character in mind while I was developing it.

Name: Think-think fruit/Omou Omou no mi
Type: Paramecia/smile (maybe not a smile fruit. It's still in production to better suit the character and context I've assigned it to, so I haven't decided quite yet)
Abilites: Allows the user to detect and enter the minds of others (including ghosts and anything with sentience) within a limited radius. They can cause minor figments, like visual illusion, noises, etc. Once they've trained enough, they can also cause figments of pain and emotion. The user needs to concentrate to cause major figments. The order of difficulty is as follows:

1. Sound– very easy to perform. Dangerously easy, in fact-- you may accidentally let one of your thoughts be heard by your target if you aren't careful!
2. Images– Just make sure you know your stuff, else your target won't be fooled. (Assuming you're trying to fool them.)
3. Taste– As long as it's something you're familiar with--you can produce flavours you can imagine.
4. Minor touch– like hairs being brushed or chills down your back--something your target will feel, but it's nothing big.
5. Smell– surprisingly difficult. It works similarly as taste. The reason it's so difficult is because smells are deeply connected with memories.
6. Pain– You need to train really hard for a really long time to be able to use this. This won't actually physically harm the target, but it'll feel like it. It's especially difficult to focus the pain on a specific area, instead of an overall pain.
7. Emotion– Yeah, this is the god-tier of this Devil fruit. It's pretty easy to cause quick emotional bursts or samples, but if you want a lasting anger/sadness in your target, good luck.

In addition to creating mental figments, the user can also read the minds (s)he's entered. Simplest is surface thoughts, then subconscious thoughts, then, eventually, memories. Even memories that the target can't see clearly, if the user sharpens their power enough!

Suitable users: Somebody pensive, quiet, intelligent, observant, and with a good eye for detail. Organization and self-awareness help, too. The power itself aids the user's memory, so they don't need a photographic memory beforehand to be able to use their power successfully.
This fruit is more strategy-based than it is power-based. Luffy, Franky, or Zolo would not gain much from it. Usopp, Law, and Robin's personality would be more suitable.

Tag Tag Fruit- Parmecia

Has the ability to tag an object or person making them become it which causes everyone or anything to runaway or move towards it. They can choose the number of people that can be affected by this tag game. The effects stops when that person is 200 feet away. It can work the other way around by making run toward that person that user tagged which would cause them to crumble under the tagged person. The tagged person is fully aware of what is happening but cannot control themselves. The user can also tag a person to runaway from the user or towards the user.

I got this idea from a minor X-Men character named Tag who was unfortunately killed off too soon for my liking.

Chupa Chupa Fruit- Zoan

User can transform into a chupacrabra, most commonly descripted as a reptile-like creature, appearing to have leathery or scaly greenish-gray skin and sharp spines or quills running down its back. It is approximately 6 feet high, and stands and hops in a similar fashion to a kangaroo. This variety is said to have a dog or panther-like nose and face, a forked tongue, and large fangs. It is said to hiss and screech when alarmed, as well as leave behind a sulfuric stench. When it screeches, some reports assert that the chupacabras' eyes glow an unusual red which gives the witnesses nausea. It has the ability to paralyze its victim with laser beams. Retractable Bat like wings to fly.

Ability: User can change the size of themselves, and/or any object they touch.
Experienced Use:
-less time to increase/decrease object size.
-can effect multiple objects at once
-can effect internal objects like human veins and organs. (Very op)
-can effect objects on a cellular level (mabye increase the size of bacteria in the body) (very op)
-can effect specific parts of an object instead of the whole thing.
-greater size variants ( ie increase an pebble to mountain size or a sword length to county length.)

Name: Sekkan Sekkan no Mi (Sarchopagus fruit);
Type: Paramecia Key
Ability: to mold solids and liquids into a sarcophagus - or multiple ones. These sarcophagus are quite dense and heavy, and can't be breaked by the one who is inside of it - he needs external help to do it. Sea water and time won't affect it, but Haki can break it (even though breaking it won't be a quick event).
The user can become a sarcophagos at will; the ones inside a sarchopagus are preserved until it reopens.

Moves ideas:
1)create a line of sarcophagus so quickly that it hits continuosly the opponent.
2) the user launches himself in the air and turns into a sarcopahgus up there, creating a hammer-style move.
3) create that kind of coffin with spikes on the inside (used in Medieval Torture; it makes an appearence in Berserker, as a way to torture Griffin).
4)create multiple sarchopaghus inside each other, like the Russian doll (I believe it's called Mamuska…? Or would it be Matrioska?)
5) creates sarcophagus underground and launch them into the air, as some kind of gargantuan hard bullets.

Shin Shin no Mi (True True fruit)
User is able to touch another person and make them speak only the truth.
Downside is the user can only tell the truth as well.

Warai Warai no Mi (Laugh Laugh fruit)
Through laughter the user can build up air within their body and float.
They have to cry to counteract the floating

Though you can get past the need for a translation if you find a good English word like yoga or mega. I'm saying I wouldn't allow a rabbit rabbit fruit unless there existed a good two-syllable word in Japanese to back it up. Usagi is too many syllables, and I can't accept shortening it. And I don't think I fully understand that method Oda uses for shortening so I avoid it. I was googling and noticed some person used kuukan. Seems to me that's four syllables (koo oo kah en) and not two (koo kahn). Is this making sense? Sorry for the essay essay no mi. I don't think I'll do more because explaining kills the mood. Good ideas, by the way.

Oda also uses Japanese phrases that relate to the ability and also European language terms that relate to the fruits ability.

Like how Horu-Horu comes from taking the first half of the world "Hormone" in English.
Vice-Admiral's Laundry fruit ability is the Woshu-Woshu no Mi for Wash Wash in English.
Therefore the Rabbit Rabbit fruit can be the Rabbi-Rabbi no Mi instead of Usagi Usagi which like you said doesn't work. Oda's method is easy for the readers to understand and create their own imho.

Allows the user to become, create, and control beans.

Hōmu Hōmu no Mi (Homing-Homing Fruit)
Hōmu = Home In
Paramecia
Turns all of the user's attacks into homing attacks that chase after the original target. During physical attacks, the user's body elongates.

Cant believe how many idiots/people probably havent gotten past the first few episodes dam near every creation already exists as a part of another devil fruit that already exists and those that think the rumble ball is what allowed chopper to use more than 2 forms aside for the original form you are dead wrong 2 years later only proved that theory he was able to use those forms anytime he wished the only thing he lacked was the str and training to use it at will the rumble balls true purpose was to give him the power to use those forms without the required training a true one piece fan would have known this the moment he used a 8th form called the kung fu point without the use of a rumble ball. 9Th form if you count his original form that he almost never uses that is all i have to say

Subtle Subtle fruit
Once the fruit is eaten, the user becomes highly elusive and incredibly difficult to track, even in single combat. Though In this case,it is not so much that the user becomes proficient in the art of stealth, but they become very easy to ignore. By eating this devil fruit, they gain a subtle existence and become a "forgettable man".

This fruit user fades in and out of memories at the passing of a second, whether it be the memory a perfect stranger, a close friend, or even an opponent out for their blood. One moment you two may be locked in a fight to the death, then the moment they're out of sight, you're standing there wondering what you're doing, how you got there, and why you have your sword drawn. In addition, the user leaves hardly a trace of where they've been; their feet leave no prints, and they have no scent to follow. The user has this effect on themselves regardless of how they outwardly appear; a user in a vibrant and gaudy clown suit would go just as unnoticed as a user draped in camouflage. There are ways to register the user as more than an insignificant memory. Foregoing the universal weaknesses of water and seastone, one way is for the user to develop a strong connection with another, either friendly or antagonistic, which will cause the effects of the fruit to wear off on that individual. The effect can also be bypassed by a person with keen skills of perception, such as highly acute senses, a sharp mind, and of course, Haki.

What it does: This power grants the user the ability to harnass the power of the sun's rays to either use it's energy to enchance their physical attributes, such as being made stronger or faster, or to keep the energy inside of them and make the area around them very hot and/or bright.
Disadvantages: Obviously, not as useful in the night or deep underground.

Powers: Can hypnotize a Person to see (and feel) Things

Range of Power: From Masshypnotizing that is pretty much harmless and only acts as a Distraction to hypnotizing a single Person, that can actually kill that Person.

Strength: Even Logia and Haki-Users are not immune to it, once the Victim looks into the Users Eye it's almost over

Weakness: User needs to have Eyecontact with Victim so blind Characters as well as Brook are completly immune to their Powers. Needs to concentrate and therefor cannot kill multiple Victims at once since the User is focus on hypnotizing everyone (if Powers are used on one Person another Person can break the Hypnosos)

The Full Sail Man wears his bed sheets as a cape. At one sheet he hovers, two sheets he levitates, three sheets he's properly volant. Any thrown object is sent on a flight path, and a little haki is the beginning of a sheet metal defense.

This fruit is super enough for Franky.

Here's an idea. Let's say, for example, Nami ate a gojo gojo no mi, and let's say that makes her a reciprocation girl with a sync ability.

Zoro would crave tangerines/oranges, have a better sense of orientation, and his swords would use the clima-tact's tempos. Nami would feel like knocking back a few, experience haki, and, with a rod in each hand and one in her mouth, proceed to tatsu maki, pound hou, and rock your 3,000 worlds.

Allows the user to create mirrors. The reflections can be used to confuse or fool enemies. The mirrors can also work as a burnig glass during a sunny day.

Allows the user to create and turn into mist. Good for catching enemies by surprise as mist is common near water and nobody would assume a DF user behind it.

Tooth Tooth Fruit: You have the ability to grow teeth on any part of your body. Can be used as weapons of course, and even change into "fangs". There is also a way to make a tooth shield to protect you from attacks as well.

It's the blind-blind fruit.
The user has the ability to turn themselves into a tiny bundle of sensory organ rays that can fly at the speeds of those rays in nature. The user also has the ability to detect those rays in the proximity and to detect the coherent of those rays as the rays travel into the sensory organs of the enemies. The user then can fly toward the sensory organs of the enemies without being harm because all enemies need sensory organs to see, and what they see must involves rays that are not destroyed in the paths reaching the sensory organs. As the user reaches one of the organ, the user can create illusions on the the enemy. Either that or the user can kill the person by turning their organs into light.
If the user invade someone like a fire user, the user may get burned if the fire user burns up everything in his body, including all the visual entering his eyes.

Extract-extract fruit.
The user turns into a cloud of light rays, and can fly at the speed of light. The user can grab any two or more different things, by solidifying the things, and pull them away from each other. The user can extract life energy from a person by pulling it from the person body. The person can also merge with things like life energy to amplify his own power.

Ketsu ketsu no Mi (Blood Blood no Mi)

The fruit would be a mysterious dark red colour with tear-drop patterns on it. Stem would be black.

Once eaten, the user can extract blood from his/her opponent, which would burst out of the body and causing grievous injury to the opponent. User can also speed or slow down the flow of blood in the opponent's body, causing them to pass out or die. The extracted blood can be formed into an indestructible iron shield (since blood contains iron) or any other iron structures and subsequently manipulated by the user.

The user in turn can utilize the blood in his/her own body for above purposes (without consequence) and have a limitless amount of blood. Virtually indestructible body - when the user is cut or severed, the wounds would bleed and then reform back without any effect (like Akainu's lava or Crocodile's sand). When trapped somewhere unable to breathe, the blood can be utilized for oxygen.

109 pages, TLDR. Forgive me if I use one already mentioned.

Dial-Dial no Mi: Turns user into a living Dial, able to absorb multiple forms of energy and matter like light, heat, impact, sound waves/music and gas, store them (in the same sort of capacity that Caribou's storage worked), and then release them at will. Can only choose one type of thing to absorb at a time, but can store all types and release in any order at will.

Memo-Memo no Mi: Can memorize, consciously or unconsciously, everything happening around them with instantaneous speed and accuracy in unlimited capacity. Works well for melee fighters so they can memorize their opponent's style instantly and counter it. Also makes one a perfect witness or spy. Or for learning foreign languages rapidly. ((Not anything like Pudding's DF ability.))

Jinei-Jinsei no Mi: Bring life to any inanimate objects that resemble living beings. Not just abstract things like 'that cloud looks like a dog', but intentionally crafted things like statues or paintings, including reflections in mirrors or water (which will have attributes like being made of glass or liquid, but looking exactly as they do in their reflective forms). This would be the only non-Zoan DF that could be eaten by an inanimate object and still bring it to life.

-Manipulación del agua: al igual que Cocodrilo es capaz de hacer cualquier terreno a su favor a través de sus poderes. así también puede el usuario con agua. Al inyectar sus poderes en el mar, puede convertir gran parte de este en un aguanieve y caminar y luchar contra él. Bastante práctico.
-Permafrost: de manera similar al método de Crocodile anterior, también el usuario puede convertir el suelo en Permafrost. Sin embargo, debido a que aún permanece en cierta medida, no es tan poderoso.

Abilities: -Transformation in any animal species -Substitution of animal parts with others (for example, a tail for a full snake) -Detachable parts of the body
Limits: It can't use more than one species per part (for example, impossibility to grow two snakes, but just one)
Weaknesses: Random, depending on the animals used

Hoshi Hoshi: Paramecia: Limitless will power gained, everything you want will instantly happen.
Special ability: Makes the user ineffected by Haki because of extreme willpower.
Limits:Every desire of damaging the opponent directly (for example, wanting about the enemy on fire) will damage the user too, by 50% damage (half the user's body will be on fire) -Desire to kill results in fainting.
Weaknesses: Itself (it's always active)

1st is normal human form or whatever they are

2nd half genie half human : The person grant wishes for themselves but not for others. They cant wish people dead, They cant wish for someone to fall in love with someone, They also cant wish a person to lose their devil fruit. The wishes can backfire on the person (For example) Say you wished that a rival's pirate crew will crash in the sea, well your wish might come true but thats because they crashed into your ship. (There are better examples just the first i came up with)

3rd is full genie: In this form there wishes become more accurate and do not have nearly as many drawbacks. They may also grant wishes of others but can only grant 3 to that person. Same rules above but they also can not wish for more wishes. The drawback of this though is that in this form a genie lamp will appear under the user, and if someone were to get ahold of it they could trap the user inside of the lamp. So ideally you would want a trust worthy crew member to hold onto it if you were to transform into this form

Don't know enough to come up with a name for the fruit, but it allows the user to switch two other peoples' Devil Fruits with each other.

Possibly, a beginner or less experienced user could only switch them temporarily and they would switch back on their own after a set amount of time, and a more experienced or awakened user could make it permanent, with only the user being capable of switching the fruits back to their original users (or upon being knocked out, as is the case with a few other fruit powers like Sugar's). The user can't switch their own fruit with a different fruit either temporarily or permanently.

Some ways this fruit would be beneficial:
-if you have two people that are unhappy with their powers and want to switch, you can give them powers they'd be happier with

-in a combat situation, you can weaken your enemies by exchanging their fruits with one they're less familiar with and might not be able to use as well

-if your allies are dealing with different situations that they'd handle better with a different fruit, but it's not feasible for them to go to the others' locations because they're busy fighting enemies or inside a death trap or behind restraints

Some weaknesses, aside from the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses:
-in a combat situation, swapping enemies' abilities might not always give you an advantage. It would mostly be useful against enemies who are overly reliant on their Devil Fruits and have nothing else going for them. If they still have skills outside of their fruit like a mastery of Haki or a weapon they're proficient in, you'll still have that to worry about. Swapping out your enemies' abilities also doesn't necessarily mean they won't be able to use their swapped fruits well. They could get a decent enough grasp of how it works if they're fast learners, or understand enough to make do from seeing their ally use it enough. Zoans and Logias are probably similar enough in functionality that swapping two of them won't be too much of a hindrance unless they're vastly different Zoan animals. It's mainly Paramecias that would struggle, since their abilities can be so different, or two enemies with different fruit types.

-if this is a fruit where all of its effects are reset when the user is knocked out, and you're using it to give people abilities they like better, that could be annoying if you get knocked out a lot and they'd have to keep coming to you to get their powers switched again.

I have thought of a fruit for a while now. Based on a crew I am creating in my head for funs

Genko Genko no Mi I believe that would translate to the Language Fruit.

Technically you will be able to communicate with anything and anyone. Furthermore you are able to take in text really fast as well so you are a beacon of knowledge. The owner also becomes really apt with martial arts fighting styles due to the fact that his awakening helps the user in reading bodylanguages and thus you are able to learn any kind of martial arts with ease.

The latter was more of an awakening as well.

The power to use all of the devil's powers. It is the strongest fruit but limited to people with CoC and the will of D(evil). The eater unfortunately will die within a year and within that year they could obviously turn the world upside down. The only character in all of OP who can walk on the ocean floor unimpeded, the only character in all of OP for whom wealth becomes meaningless as they can produce all the jewels in the world without limitation, the only character who can become any and all of the logia simultaneously, the only character who can awaken the entire world and turn parts of it into zoan clones, and use all the abilities of the paramecia type in one body. The only DF that can potentially defeat the supreme authority in the world of OP.

The DF confers the eater with the power to make their dream a reality. It is an overpowered DF, its only limit is the eater's creativity and mental strength. It is why Im is immortal and all-powerful. It is in the same tier as OP.

Roke Roke no Mi (Rocket-Rocket Fruit) - Allows you to generate rocket jets on your body. Has a variety of uses including flight, exponentially amplifying the speed of attacks, or burning objects with the flames.

Kagu Kagu no Mi (Smell-Smell Fruit) - Amplifies your sense of smell by a hundredfold, and allows you to generate any scent that you've smelled before.

Teki Teki no Mi (Adapt-Adapt Fruit) - Renders you immune from a harmful force after experiencing it once, e.g. becoming incapable of getting frostbite again after getting it once.
