Looks like Fishman Island had some strong impact on the series sales-wise as well, it sold 10 million less than last year, but still a huge lead to the other series. It's still nice to see the series is still doing amazingly well.

Sales of volume of both lists seem to more or less match, so I guess the time skip helped boost sales in older volumes.

Its all logic for sales to go down, since the pic has been reached. Both 2010 and 2011 had Marineford + Strong world +OP hijack in japan + Timeskip.
Next one will probably be in a loooooong time.

Read my post and compare the number of the newer volumes. They sold more than last year… If anything the sales of old volumes went down, which is of course very normal

After the explosion of 2011, One Piece is back to the 2010 numbers. And that's understandable. The War arc triggered an exponential growth of reader audience that Oda himself never expected too happen. And now, when almost all new readers have caught up with the ongoing mammoth of our manga, the growth has returned to a much more steady pace. Until another plot event of similar scale - or even the very finale - no one should be expecting the sales to rise in the same manner.

S'all good, and One Piece is still a bestseller among bestsellers.

Also, Uchuu Kyoudai are doing fantastically for a realistic seinen about space, brothers and dogs. Everyone should be reading and watching it.

Well… I don't think it really works like that, it's more a case of less people being willing to spend money on One Piece, especially on Fishman island Arc.

all the latest volume in 2012 which is FI arc sold better than the last years volume at the same frame of time..
One Piece sold more than 37 million last years was because of new readers buying all old 55+ volumes of One Piece.. also from the old list, it shows that all the old volume sold 400000+ copies for each volume last year.

I don't get Toriko. reused 80s designs and boring characters. I do like the fights though and a lot of characters have interesting abilities in the series. Just not sold on the characters personalities or designs to this day.

I just don't see why Fairy Tail sells that much. It's a cheap rip off of One Piece. I tried to get into but i couldn't get pass the horrible namkama cliche fights. Bleach Bleach Bleach, it's fallen so low.

or why don't you compare that panel of Lucy blowing something like a wind with a panel of king picolo attacking Goku with his ultimate technique in Dragonball volume 13? its far earlier than nami vs that BW woman with toge toge no mi..

if you want to know more about rip off in the manga, go check Black Cat and Cowboy Bebop, or maybe Samurai Deeper Kyo and Rurouni Kenshin and many other more that I already forget their name are. they are some manga that blatantly ripping of DB, Death Note and etc.. there are many cases of rip off but FT and OP is not one of them.. and there is a different with nitpicking and rip off. but people most of the time just want to believe what they want to believe.. just see whatever they want to see.

Since that'll be ~10 years from now, there'll be a whole new generation of kids who'll kit into One-Piece,a nd by that point they'll all have to buy ~150 volumes worth of material.
