OPBBS colored pages

Hi all,

I have searched the internet (as well as this forum) as thoroughly as I could, but unfortunately I still don't have an answer to my question.

As some of you surely know, there is a Chinese group out there that scanlates OP in Chinese and their name is OPBBS: http://bbs.opbbs.net/forum.php
What is remarkable about OPBBS is that they also color some pages (I believe the group that does this is called Panda Team), and the quality of their coloring is mind blowing: http://imgur.com/RP3Lc

I have come across these colored images 4 years ago. They appear to be published on the website each week when a new chapter comes out (i.e. sometimes some colored pages from the previous chapter are added to the scanlation of the current chapter). I don't speak a word of Chinese but I found my way around: every week when a new chapter comes out I click on the subforum which has the pandaman symbol and that's where I find what I'm looking for.

Anyway, here is my question: is there an archive of Panda Team's colored pages?

For the past 4 years I have visited the OPBBS website almost weekly and have downloaded the colored pages one by one. Over the years I have gathered 318 pages. To my great dismay I noticed that I seem to have lost some. In order to retrieve them ( I can't find them on the website anymore) and to be sure that I have everything that Panda Team has ever colored, I would love to know if they have an archive. In case anybody else has some of their work I would love to share.

Unfortunately I can't download any of the files because an error keeps occurring…

I love the OP manga and the colored pages by Panda Team add so much life to it. I'm surprised that so few people know about Panda Team!

Coloring entire pages takes a large chunk of time, skill and effort. I have seen some remarkable selected colored pages before but only from selected artists, not from scanlating groups. Mangastream had utilized colored pages as well, they include submitted colored pages in their weekly OP chapter scanlation releases but it is not a regular thing…some artists just opt to color characters.

*Check the colour prediction thread, other members have posted links to colored pages there...and most of them are submitted at Mangastream to be included in their weekly SJ chapter releases. Hope this helps.

Sorry but I've got no clue about the archive. Though I'd be interested in the coloured images you talked about. Any chance that you could upload them all in a RAR file to share them with us?

The colouring is pretty neat considering they did entire double-spreads or pages. The only thing I don't like is that they don't colour over black parts, but I can live with that.

Those who say it's bad: try to colour a whole page, background and all. Or multiple pages. Of course the result will differ from the colouring of a single character, or just one image.

Okay so I tried to download the archived files on the Chinese filesharing site with JDownloader and it works due to the fact that you can resume interrupted downloads. I can confirm that these are the archives that contain all the colored images together with the corresponding chapters! Downloading that stuff will take forever but it will be worth it.

It's fun because you can really distinguish between the different painting styles of the artists. Some of them I do not like at all, others are absolutely great and interpret OP in a very dramatic fashion, sometimes even "dark".

I downloaded the first chapters from the archives and I must say the colorings are really terrible for Thriller Bark (it doen't go back any further than TB). Once they reach Shabondy the colorings become great.

Is there any chance you can make a .torrent available? That site always gives me trouble, and a torrent I can seed and literally share & care for a few months at the very least.

Unfortunately I don't really know how to create torrents. I just checked how to do it for 4shared and one must have a premium account (which I don't). Is it that hard to download from my links?

The file link that you requested is not valid.

Besides that, that website is also slow as hell, required me to get a login, throws enough ads at me to make my pc grind to a halt… so yeah... I'd call it a hard to download stuff.

As for the 'how to make a torrent' thing... there's tons of websites that explain the how-to-create-a-torrent better than I can. Check out Nyaa for example; they're a perfect tracker for something like this.

When you press the download button on 4shared, you get an option of downloading the file as a .torrent under "download file now".

Hi,

me again. Unfortunately the archives are incomplete: the directory is unavailable for the chapters 481-500. I tried to retrieve the missing colored pages from the forum (http://bbs.opbbs.net/forum.php?mod=forumdisplay&fid=8&page=1), but since the threads are so old, they removed the pictures. Even though I don't speak a word of Chinese (Mandarin? Cantonese?), I have managed to create an account, but according to Google Translate, I do not have the "right" to access the attachments (I guess you must have a certain level of activity on the forum to access specific content). Furthermore, the download links on the Chinese file sharing sites are dead…

Is there a Chinese-speaking person here who could help me out? Thanks!

We don´t have that many color pages because Oda just doesn´t have the time to color a whole page. It´s tough enough for him to even do a color spread.
As you can see, before Oda became such a busy man, he had loads of color pages.

But I kinda hope that he will do more color pages and less color spreads in the future! It´s just much more awesome to see his panels in color.
