Hannyabal has one of my favorite scenes in all of One Piece. He made Luffy look like a villain, and brought the One Piece world into perspective in that Pirates all over are actually causing civilians harm and the marines/world government are the only defense against them.

Sure the same World goverment that goes after a child just because she knows how to read an ancient language, making her life a living hell, lets a cientist who makes chemical weapons just because he is a subordinate of one of their shichibukai also said shichibukai was running a slave auction, are forcing however is against then or not affiliate with go to make a bridge(that is 700 years old) by order of scum who can do whatever they want just because of their position and normal citzens have to endure it or suffer the consequences of going against then,sons being to blame or hunted because the stuff their parents did or doo.
This is no bashing on poor Hannyball since he has his heart in the right place and he his right about the great majority of the pirates and his job is important but to say the world goverment is the lesser evil when we saw stuff like the CP9 and the tenryuubito and the crap the shichibukai pull it does look like what Kid said that the villains of the world compared to some of then have more humanity.
With that said with posible very bad explained my logic(hope it isn't) Brook also has a great speech about responsability.

Hell we already know how screwed up the government itself is, and I'm sure Lint isn't denying it either, but Hannyabal was the firstcharacter that made many of us truly reconsider if Luffy really is the good-natured rebel we believed him to be. It doesn't steal his thunder what his government does, all that matters is that he was ready to keep the dangerous prisoners he was tasked to guard from escaping, no matter what the cost. No matter how overwhelming the number of enemies was, no matter how many times he was beaten, no matter if he had to die, he stood up if only to buy a few seconds until Magellan would arrive. So please don't tarnish his name just because what kind of corrupt world he was born in. It doesn't matter in the slightest, he's still one of the greatest characters this manga has ever had. :cwy:
