Hahahaha
Luffy will have another monster(slime) to tame when he sees it :D
Chapter 668: Pirate Alliance
-
-
@nodensuke:
That was an awesome chapter, but I'm too tired to talk about it all right now…
I will say this though; I said it a few chapters back.
1. I definitely called the part of the WG trying to develop giants (I'm sure a few others thought the same)..
2. I think Smoker and Co. while looking for a ship to report the details, end up finding Sunny and use it.
I called a lot of things about Law and they've been coming true… though now there's debate:
Does Law have a weakness to 'cute' things (e.g. Bepo, Chopper), or does he just not like things being put on his head (other than his hat of course)/hat? Maybe it messes his balance up? XD either way, I SAW HIM SHIVERING SLIGHTLY THERE
or shuddering
meh
Law being weak to cute things is defo a headcanon for me.. seriously.
It's just
too
adorable
<3 -
That's a weird argument, though. If he had asked for members who could use water or electricity, he would have needed Nami.
If he had asked for members who could incapacitate enemies without hurting them, he would have needed Usopp.
And so on and so on and so on. The point of a varied team is that everyone has different strengths. No one doubts that, but there is something like OVERALL fighting abilities.. Marco can do stuff that WB couldn't… The nurses as well... Probably WB wasn't the strongest out of the crew after all
The SHs are different. Nami and all others are close to ther overall strenght of the monster trio
-
Hey look a Grimer appeared. Luffy should catch it.
!
In all seriousness good chapter it's pretty obvious it's, not Shanks Law wants to try to take out I'm thinking Big Mom is who Law wants to take out.
LOL at when Usopp tried to put Chopper on Laws head law was like "Oh hell no"
-
I'm actually a bit sad; my hope was that Robin would have basic haki as well, color of observation preferably. She's had training with the arguably the most covert and cautious bunch of the world, and imo one of the women also having haki seems fitting to round off the crew a little. Also, let's not forget she did beat the crap out of Tashigi in Alabasta, and that woman has haki (Smoker said so), be it not enough to withstand Law. So that is a bit disappointing to me.
Then again; Luffy might not know, and Robin might not correct Luffy out loud around Law because she's actually tactful like that.
Chances are Robin do possess haki. She definitely remarked that Luffy has haki when he took down 50k people. She might have dabbled with it… or not. But she did have 2 years to observe Dragon. So don't be sad... just yet :D

<3I wanna say that that face was just Law finally snapping from the interaction with Luffy's crew. He was expecting to be the one in control, but was thrown into the zany antics of the Strawhats that would normally break a man's will in seconds. He is so serious half the time, he doesn't know how to handle them…
This is fantastic~
-
Its been confirmed Sanji and Zoro can use armament haki. But its been shown before that those 2 can use observation haki as well during the end of fishmen island arc. Now all that's left is to see is if they have conqueror's haki which personally, I wouldn't want them to have it.
-
Zoro and Sanji confirmed to have Haki, the Monster Trio became the Monster Holy Trinity
-
People really hate admitting they are wrong, there is a monster trio get over it. I'm guessing the next arc will involve the Joker after they defeat CC, maybe this will be an arc that actually involves more than one island. As for the Yonkou I doubt Luffy would want to take out Shanks in a covert way, he wants to match his strength. Luffy knows all the Yonkou except Kaidou, so I'm guessing since he is stubborn he just happily decided to take on Kaidou. Luffy being dumb enough or badass enough (however you see it) to be on the bad side of 2 of the 4 emperors wouldn't be surprising, it'd actually be expected. I'm convinced it's not Big Mam or it would have been made mention, Shanks and Luffy would have refused, Blackbeard and he'd be angry, Kaidou and he has no clue who the hell he is (so he'd laugh). Besides Kaidou is the only major character in the story who has been known about for so long but hasn't made an appearance
-
Am I the only one who saw the Sabo reference on the cover page with the brothers cup on the crate next to Ace's grave, or did someone point this out already. If so Sabo may be in the New world.
-
In all seriousness good chapter it's pretty obvious it's, not Shanks Law wants to try to take out I'm thinking Big Mom is who Law wants to take out.
The evidence all points to Shanks.
Law was seen with the strawhat at Amazon Lily looking at the hat with a pensive expression. This look makes me believe that Law holds Shanks in a light not really known to us, but we will get an explanation soon hopefully. He was very inquizative about the hat and it's previous owner and Im sure he was thinking about Shanks.
Plus adding the fact that Luffy was genuinely pleased with whoever Law proposed taking down.
-
I have a theory
and
I just wanna place it here
the yonkou CAN'T be Shanks. not yet
why, you ask?
'Why are you so certain you crazy mcnugget?'
BECAUSE:- Shanks told Luffy to return it once he was a great pirate. It's too soon for that.
- Having ONE alliance doesn't make him a BAMF great pirate. he needs ALL OF THE ALLIANCES (or.. yknow… a fair few more), and may need to kick the buttox of a few more Yonkou before reaching him < u >
And judging by Nami's reaction, we have a debate here... whether:
- it's Kaidou/Blackbeard (too soon? no?) and she's surprised Luffy accepted because that means TWO yonkou he's against...
- it's Big Mam and she's surprised because she may not have expected Luffy to have wanted to do that.
...that or the whole crew but Luffy ain't keen on Law...
I wanna see some of Law interacting with the other
Sanji: [/sees nami in his body] <3 <3 <3 THANK YOU FOR BLESSING THIS UPON MEEEE~!
Law: You can go back no.
Sanji: DO NOT WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANT!
Nami: = A = get out of there now, sanji-kuuuuuun.
Sanji: DB< SH- ah! I keep forgetting it's you, Nami < A >that's gonna be funny… cause Sanji is like, chivalrous or whatever you want to call it, to women, yet Nami is in HIS body and he is in HER body...
...TO THE OUT OF CONTEXT THREAD! -
Meh, this chapter, at least to me, confirms it then. At this point, if it were Kaido or Big Mom, Luffy wouldn't really react to it I'm sure. If it were Blackbeard, I'm sure he would have a solemn, even pissed off reaction. The fact that he seemed so happy and gleeful would point to Shanks. He would finally get a chance to see Shanks and even try to overtake him, which has been Luffy's goal since meeting him. The fact that Law would be helping to take on his idol and chief rival would definitely make him happy.
The way Nami reacted after Law said the name points to it being Shanks, too. It was a look of worry. I bet she was worried about pitting Luffy against Shanks.
It can still be Big Mom (high chance) or Kaidou, of course. It all depends on what the "key" is and if it's cheap or not. Luffy wouldn't defeat Shanks in a cheap way. Or even probably Big Mom, for that matter.Graht chaptuh. Really enjoyed Namji, the way Tashim-ker stands with her jutte, all interactions within the chapter… and then there's even a slime monster at the end with that awesome Punk Hazard style intro-box. Woot.
Oh, and can I just say that Luffy looks freakin' adorable in that snow coat? My Little Protagonist Can't Be This Cute -
I called a lot of things about Law and they've been coming true… though now there's debate:

<3Or maybe having a tanuki on top of his head will take off some badassery points. A guy like Law will probably shiver on just the thought of it :D
-
Great chapter…can't believe we might see Luffy and Law going against a Yonkou!
-
It's not Shanks nothing points to it….I think you all just want it that way really bad lol. Has to be Big Mom,I think Luffy takes his rivalry with Shanks very personally.
-
- Shanks told Luffy to return it once he was a great pirate. It's too soon for that.
As Law said, he wasn't talking about going directly at Shanks at this point in time, but to assess and plan to take the Yonkou on later in time. I'm sure the culmination of whatever Law has planned won't happen till far later on.
-
Is there a possibility of Chopper utilizing the drug the kids have for his Rumble pills? To perhaps improve upon his bigger forms (Heavy and Monster point)
-
This isnt gonna end well. I mean Law has most likely some kinda evil plan involved with mass-murder weapon, drugs or whatever the evil genius is hiding in the island. Its not Luffys style to use cruel, unfair methods like that.. Its more like: Arrive. Kick ass. Leave.
-
This whole making Giant soldiers raises the question…Where the Giant division from the war originally normal-sized people?
hmmm, interesting...
the reaserch was not completed,so no,they are real giants
anyway..somebody shared a cup of wine while putting the newspaper on Ace's grave…sabo?
-
Anyone else feel like Luffy saying "Even if he is a bad guy… you guys have trained for 2 years" means he knows how truly strong his crew is and we haven't seen it yet. I mean think about pre-TS at Enies Lobby going all out to the point of exhaustion WHEN they have to do that again I think we'll understand their true power. I do have a feeling Joker, CC, Yonkou, and Law's crew are "all part of the plan" and Law will betray Luffy EVENTUALLY.
-
Or maybe having a tanuki on top of his head will take off some badassery points. A guy like Law will probably shiver on just the thought of it :D
Would be a valid point were he not the kind of guy to use a big snuggly speaking/sleeping (at the time) bipedal kung fu polar bear as a pillow . u .
-
Am I the only one who saw the Sabo reference on the cover page with the brothers cup on the crate next to Ace's grave, or did someone point this out already. If so Sabo may be in the New world.
Seriously… I didn't see it. You are sharp! It may not be Sabo but someone definitely took the time to report to Ace what's going on with Luffy... and also have some shots of wine.
-
It's not Shanks nothing points to it….I think you all just want it that way really bad lol. Has to be Big Mom,I think Luffy takes his rivalry with Shanks very personally.
If you want to go down that route, then there is no proof that it's Big Mom either…unless you have a better explanation?
-
Would be a valid point were he not the kind of guy to use a big snuggly speaking/sleeping (at the time) bipedal kung fu polar bear as a pillow . u .
True but the look of "Oh fuck these guys are complete tools, what the hell did I do" when Chopper is tied to his head is on a new level of uncool.
-
This was a good chapter, again. It's nice that this arc hasn't had a bad chapter yet(for me) and it's been around 14 chapters, I think.
-Ace's and Whitebeard's graves, huh? okay.
-Too bad, we didn't learn which emperor it was Law is going against.
-I enjoy Law's annoyance at the crew.
-It's nice that the body-switching was brief and hilarious, it might've become annoying after a while.
-Well, looks like the goals are set for the crew and Law.
-Chopper on Law's hat is priceless and then.. he proceeds to use Chopper as a phone-strap thing for his sword.
-Oh, so were the prisoners from Impel Down? How'd they get free from the ice?
-I see Smoker and Tashigi are fighting fine in each others bodies.
-The slime-monster reminds me of the monster in Nausicaa and it's freaking creepy to me. Perhaps a reference to those "weapons"?Looking forward to next chapter. I think the set-up part of the arc is nearing it's end.
-
As Law said, he wasn't talking about going directly at Shanks at this point in time, but to assess and plan to take the Yonkou on later in time. I'm sure the culmination of whatever Law has planned won't happen till far later on.
He's always told Luffy and Nami which yonkou…
THAT'S WHY WE DIDN'T HEAR WHAT HE SAID < A <
cause yknow
Oda is trolling us . u . -
If you want to go down that route, then there is no proof that it's Big Mom either…unless you have a better explanation?
Well, the face of Luffy might tell. If it was BB he would have had an "angry" look on his face…Kaidou, he probably doesn't even know who he is, so he wouldn't care...to take down Big Mom was in his plans anyway, so...
But then again, I'm far from being sure of that -
MmMm~ very nice chapter. Love the progression at the moment.
I'm thinking these first few arcs in the new world (including fishman island) will all be a part of a Big mom saga. Tied together with themes of drugs and of course leading up to a confrontation with Big mom. It would mirror the start of the grand line where they got mixed up in some Shichibukais business and ended up taking him down. This time though, it'll be a Yonkou.
-
True but the look of "Oh fuck these guys are complete tools, what the hell did I do" when Chopper is tied to his head is on a new level of uncool.
More like a new level of lols.

DUDE Shanks is like the most important (living) person in the world to Luffy why would Luffy help kill him?
-
Is this discussion rly about wether Franky belongs to the monster trio because he did blast open a door with a laser beam?…
Well, having such an advanced technologie in his body sure would attrack a SCIENCE guy like ceasar, but that would also count for pacifistas which we know are nowadays no match for the monster trio.
Iam personally no fan of the monster trio -thingy, but afterall Oda himself called them like that and it was obvious that those three(for now) will be able to use haki. -
This chapter unveiled the God-Warrior
-
-Law's interest in the Strawhat
-Nami's worried look at whoever Law proposed
-Luffy's genuinely gleeful lookthese are my points…You could even use the idea of why would Law backstab Luffy and why would that be worrisome.
Now I'm injecting my own thought process into this so bear with me. What if the notion of the backstabbing has to do with Law wanting to kill Shanks, thereby violating what Luffy wants to do? Luffy trusts his crew to take care of things while he takes on Shanks himself.
This is a very far fetched theory, but if you wanna go the route of "no proof!" then remember this is all speculation.
-

<3He's quite clearly shaking with an expression of suppressed anger on his face, not because he thinks Chopper is so adorable.
He is feeling humiliated by their antics. -
Great chapter!
And Luffy is a clever man… just look at the chapter!
"Are you going to betray us?"
"No."
Problem solved. -
Strawheart pirates… I like it.
Logia monster... not really.
-
Ceasar Clown caught a muk.
Also Sanji and Zoro haki confirmed.
-
If you want to go down that route, then there is no proof that it's Big Mom either…unless you have a better explanation?
Dude, if there's "NO" proof that it's Big Mom ,there's even less proof that it's Shanks.
Haven't Law and CC already referenced her when talking about "Candy"? aside from this minor convo ,lets use abit of logic,it can't possibly be Teach since he has an Aura of endgame surrounding him. Kaidou seems like any confrontation with him will come through Drake's development. Finally with Shanks I feel like along with Teach he will be either Luffy's final encounter or further motivation to take down BB [[maybe Teach defeats him down the line ?]]
Either way I think we'll know who it is by the end of the Arc.
-
He's quite clearly shaking with an expression of suppressed anger on his face, not because he thinks Chopper is so adorable.
He is feeling humiliated by their antics.lemme just take a closer look… if I take a while to edit this it's because I either died laughing and then somehow haunted the computer to reply, or I couldn't stop staring . o .
EDIT (wow that was fast for some reason) - that doesn't look like suppressed anger to me...

all that comes to mind is...
'DOKIDOKIDOKI'
DAMN ME
DAAAAHH
oh well. -
Oh man. Why do Oda always like to keep us hanging and create a frantic speculation war within their fans? Which is what is happening here.
-
I agree. Honestly, if put in Laws position of knowing that there is a relationship, most likely a positive one between Shanks and Luffy would you make the gamble of asking Luffy to fight him? Law is a thinkin' man. He wouldn't do that.
Also Shanks is clearly setup to be one of the series "closing" characters. Someone who will have a major effect on the last couple of arcs of the story. To bring him into the light now would be a blunder on Oda's part.
Nami reacted the way she did because… that's how Nami always reacts. She never fully expects Luffy's recklessness until it happens.
Would Usopp fight his father? He idolizes his father much in the same way that Luffy idolizes Shanks, not gonna happen.
At the end of the day it's most likely BM. She has already been introduced, Luffy has a clear motive to defeat her, and we already have a rough timeline.
As for the Haki portion... yay. It's finally confirmed that Zoro and Sanji have at least one type of Haki. CoA. They most likely have CoO too but hey.
Also I don't want Zoro or Sanji or anyone in the SH for that matter to have CoC. It's 1/1,000,000. CoC is present in people who are leaders, people with great will. While every SH has great will, not all of them are leaders. CoC should be reserved for Luffy and Luffy alone.
-
Ooh, I didn't even notice that this is the coverstory's last part. I guess we won't be seeing anyone else/they're in the new world?
-
Things I want so bad:
- to be right about the whole Law and his weakness to cute things which he attempts to hide < u > cause yknow.
ol' zach MUST suggest such ridiculous typically fangirlish stuff
DEAL WITH IT. - SHUSHU.

…dear god someone help me I'm being brain washed @ A @ - Apoo having an air ship.

We shall name it the 'loltruffle'
because why the dickens not?
and the face?
it's more like '._______________. what's happening?'It really is a genius panel, that panel and the inability to hear what Yonkou it is makes this chapter great by themselves.
Anyone else think Magellan-esque ability when they saw the Slime? I was like wtf is Magellan doing then I realized he was at ID. Now all I want is CC defeated so we can know Law's plans.
-
Allow me to roll about in all these loltruffles at your antics and wait for the next 15 minutes to pass by so then I can head home and then get nagged by the mother to get thine behind outside into the hot hot sun @ A @

http://www.apforums.net/showthread.php?t=35359&page=3&p=2584629&viewfull=1#post2584629
DUDE Shanks is like the most important (living) person in the world to Luffy why would Luffy help kill him?
If you think about it, what did Law actually say?
http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/667/19
He said "take down". Barring the translation, this is a general way of saying killing the target. However, Luffy could take it as just beating them. Of course Law probably wants to kill whoever he is targeting, but Luffy just wants to beat Shanks.
What does this generate? A conflict of interest that isn't pronounce to Luffy quite yet. Once it is established what Law's intentions are, I'm sure Luffy will disagree and then fight Law. However, until that is made clear in the confrontation, Luffy will be acting like Law and he are just gonna beat Shanks and that's it.
Now onto the matter of why Luffy would want to attack Shanks.
-to prove he's surpassed Shanks
-to return the hat
-to see his rival againYou have to remember, Luffy is a pirate. He has always respected Shanks and idolized him, but he also called themselves rivals. Luffy wants to beat Shanks and prove to him that he's the better pirate. Just because he worships the ground Shanks walks on doesn't mean he doesn't want to beat him to a pulp in a fair fight, even if that means being a little dirty-handed like a team up, but that is what a true pirate does. Luffy will use Law's help until he gets to the plateau where Shanks is, that's when all bets are off.
-
I'm on the Shanks train cho-cho baby!
-
Judging from Nami's reaction, I'm really leaning towards it not being Big Mom. If it were Shanks, that would explain her reaction and Luffy's immediate joyous reaction because he's finally going to get the chance to prove himself. He also gets to return the straw hat, which in return would mean he has become a great pirate.
I can already picture Garp's reaction to finding out Luffy went after Shanks.
Although, it may be unlikely, it's got a better chance than Kaidou or Blackbeard. Pretty much rules them out to be honest.
-
Also the "gleeful" look Luffy had could just stem from the fact that the faster he takes out Big Mom ,the faster Jinbe joins the crew.
I'm just saying there are billions of possibilities for why he was Gleeful at Laws answer.
