I do believe that One Piece is a large sum of wealth, as well as the true history of the void century. If the secret that Law wants to use to defeat a yonko isn't one of the ancient weapons, one of them could be there too. All of these would lead nicely into the huge war with the world government that is most likely going to be the final arc.
Not gold, coins, or other typical pirate booty. The fact that Buggy doesn't wanna go get it proves that.
I bet that Raftel has a bunch of junk about the void century and lost civilization, but what Roger himself left was a single chest filled with a journal of his travels and a sentimental object from each member of his crew.
Like Luffy, his nakama were his most precious treasures.
The legendary treasure One Piece is the Straw Hat.On Raftel though there is the Rio Poneglyph which contains information about the Void Century and a note from Roger saying something important.

Ehh, I always thought Buggy doesn't want to go after it is because he knows the dangers of the new world, or he has too much respect for Roger.
It'll be the contents of the GS ball.
Friendship!!!1!!!!1111
A note saying 'Your treasure is on another island'
But yeah. It's probably nothing and the whole adventure is the experience.
@Galaxy:

If it were because of the dangers of the New World, he would've at least lamented at some point that he couldn't get a great amount of treasure that only he and 3 other people (that are still alive that we know of, none of which have any hunger for sweet loot) know how to get to, just because he was too weak. Instead, he had a map of the Grand Line and was ready to go face whatever dangers there were so he could find Captain John's treasure.
If he had too much respect for Roger, he wouldn't have trashed Luffy's hat way back when. Buggy knew full-well that the hat originally belonged to Roger and how precious it was; he just didn't care (which brings up a whole lot of questions, but that's another kettle of fish). It'd be weird for a man to be fine with destroying one of the last mementos of his former captain, but have too much respect to go after the treasure he left behind for anyone to find.

We don't know what Buggy tried to do during the 20 or so years leading up to the present story. Maybe he gave up on trying to go for the One Piece and decided that Captain John's treasure would be easier for him to find.
It's possible that Buggy joined the crew after Shanks received the hat from Roger, and didn't know who it originally belonged to (unlikely but possible). The respect aspect only comes in due to the fact Buggy was seen crying at Roger's execution, and he worried about him prior to the battle with Shiki.
I really hope it's not only FRIENDSHIP!
It should be MONEY! and something about the void century.
It's the piece of meat attached to Velgo's face. That…or Sabo.
Could have something to do with it's name. "One Piece" One Piece of coin? One Piece of a larger treasure, which whereabouts are found after visiting raftel, opening the door for countless more adventures.
Everyones dreams could come true there(sounds kinda gay) like luffy becoming pirate king, zoro best swordsman, sanji all blue, nami finishes map of grand line, chopper finding the cure for everything, robin finds out what the void century is, franky building his dream ship or something, brook finding laboon and… PANTIES!
One Piece could also be some deus ex machina used to stop the "Great Evil" of the series.
Stilettos, because Oda. The man likes his feet.

I'm willing to bet most manga authors have a foot fetish. Women ALWAYS expose dem feet in manga/anime, and there's quite a few foot shots; dat foot fetish.

I have a foot fetish, in all honesty. Legs+feet = best. If that part of the body is clean, then the rest prolly follows. Plus they can be all decorative, or minimalist works too. The choices are endless!

I just like women… So...
! Well that ended oddly, haha. You're an AP forums poster and you like One Piece, so you're fine in my book; I won't be mean. All I'm gonna say is a fetish does not mean I objectify women's bodies, like your comment seemed to imply. I like women, too. But I would be lying if I said that I did not have some fetishes. I don't care if that makes some people say "MALE PIGGU GO HOME", I'm just gonna go happily marching on with my harmless, very common, awesome fetish.
This is waaaay off topic though so let's drop it, and on this specific forum off-topic-ness seems to be purged.
The One Piece! What is it? Ace's bloodline is extinuished, but his flames still burn on, as Ace's flame abilities and his untimely death was meant to represent (and as was literally said in the story). "As long as the will is inherited." Big theme going on in the series. Robin inherited the will of her island. Hody inherited the will of Arlong. The Tenryuubito inherited the will of the "Creators." And finally, as of late Luffy has inherited Ace's will. Roger already had a whole generation of pirates inherit his will by uttering the famous words said at the beginning of this story. So what does this have to do with One Piece? Well, in my opinion, it has to be something that the Straw Hat Pirates have to inherit from Roger. His wisdom on the Void Century (so possibly the Rio Poneglyph is located on Raftel, as theorized by Zephos back in 2004 or 2005)… Some counter to Pluton (which I think the World Government is going to be cruising around in the air or on the sea sometime before One Piece is found, in my opinion, trying to end the Pirate Era swiftly due to Akainu's brash attitude)... A space ship... I don't think Roger wanted them to inherit treasure, so that'll be the only one I'm gonna go ahead and count out.

By "I just like women" I meant I like ALL parts of a women.
I had this weird dream where Luffy was drowning in the sea for some reason, and suddenly there was a huge brown mean looking crocodile in front of him.
Then there came a box that said "The great treasure One Piece", and after that Luffy passed out.
I have no idea where my subconcius mind got that idea from, but from now on my money will be on a huge fierce brown crocodile.
Maybe it was Roger's pet. :ninja:
One Piece is Kuma's book.
I do like the One Piece is the original world theory. Granted I've only heard it mentioned, but I think it goes something like - originally the four blues were one ocean (All Blue) and some cataclysm occured that created the Red Line. At the end One Piece is a weapon of some sort (linked to the Void Era) that can be used to make the world as it was before-hand. Maybe Roger didn't use it because he liked the adventure the Grand Line represented and it'd be easier to police just one ocean as opposed to four and a world-round strip of crazy.
Dunno, the thought appealed to me.
I also like the idea that it's the actual journey itself - moulding a crew into one family.
One thought that I had, though, was that One Piece is something that can only be collected via multiple trips through the Grand Line - say one part of treasure for each trip. Since the magnetic pull of each island chain leads to different islands each, maybe there are multiple 'Raftels' or they're parts of one giant island that can only be accessed from certain areas which coincide with the paths you take through the Grand Line.
Though I think the most likely is that it's part of the Rio Poneglyph and has something to do with the history of the world.
Whatever it is, it'll be contained in a jar.
Either a pickle jar, or a jar of dirt.
Or maybe we'll have some sort of scenario like from the horcrux hunting in Harry Potter where it's full of rum and you have to drink it all to get to the One Piece…
I guarantee Shanks will do it, and the rum will be extra potent, so you're like '= A = too drunk tdrinkit...' and stuff.
then when he's finished he'll stare and be like '...Why's the rum gone? TT A TT'
TOO MANY REFERENCES?
NEVER ENOUGH.
A gift shop, like the ones that you find after exiting a ride in a theme park. It'll be the end of a fantasical journey.

But he knows where it is.
What we do know is that he spent those 20 years laying low in the East Blue, doing nothing more than being your typical average pirate.

True, though it'd be pretty odd for him not to know that since he and Shanks were apparently pretty much always together.
I never said he didn't respect Roger (because he was happy when Luffy mentioned Rayleigh), just that his respect probably isn't the type to make him stop pursuing the best pile of treasure out there when it's free game to everyone.
We already know that the Rio Poneglyph is gonna be on Raftel, so I doubt that it's also the One Piece.
However, it will definitely be something besides material treasure. It could even be the Oro Jackson.
And if there's material treasure to boot, it will go to Buggy or Nami, guaranteed.
Is 'one piece' TV show or What ?
I imagine it would really take the form of a final Poneglyph which would draw the story told by all the others together. I also imagine it's going to have something to connect Monkey and anyone else with 'D.' in their name to - well, not just to the Poneglyphs and Raftel, but of the Void Century and their role in what happened there. I suspect that the 'D.'s in One Piece are descended or 'ordained' seekers of whatever these secrets are, just as people like the various royal families and the Shandorians appear to be designated guardians of those secrets. So, you'll find out the truth of that era and the roles of guardians, seekers and also the WG in resolving it all, centuries down the track.
If these three 'ultimate weapons' are connected more to the Poneglyphs than to anything the WG are trying to hide (which it looks to me like they are - seems they're hidden roughly in the same places, at least in the case of Fishman Island - possibly Sorajima and Arabasta too?), then it looks like someone hid a bunch of heavy weapons with some secret info about the WG, doesn't it? Which would indicate that you'd need to use those weapons on whatever you found yourself up against, knowing the truth. So the WG have something in their possession, even now. What that is, well, who knows?
I'm not sure if we've had plenty of hints about what it is the WG have on their hands that's so scary or not. If it IS a weapon, then is it related… to Devil Fruit? I think so.
There seems to be such a large, looming shadow hanging over what they're for, and what they do, that it makes me wonder if the WG's weapon is related to all Devil Fruit somehow. This persistent hiding of one of the most obvious story points of the anime is telling because it's unlike shounen manga. Look around - it's vital to shounen plotlines to have the big scary new power that's come up a) be a mystery, then b) be figured out so that it can be then c) defeated. Akuma no mi? No such chatter. Just a lingering mention by Oda ages ago that Vegapunk, the WG's numero uno scientist, knows their 'secret'. And if they have a secret, then what else could it be but one about their design? Or purpose?
If they were just, like, rare fruits that happened to make you be great at bashing people up in a weird way, there wouldn't be a secret. I think that Devil Fruits are manufactured, and have a purpose. I think it could actually be a WG purpose. Like… if a bunch of pirates / adventurers are constantly going to be after your booty/stash/secrets/superweapon/whatever, and they're all getting increasingly better at it, something like the Devil Fruits could be a grand 'divide and conquer' scheme, couldn't it? Particularly if you had the kill switch!
We've seen there IS a kill switch, thus far - a physical one, kairoseki. All the WG's lapdogs, the Marines, have plenty of it. Where'd that come from? Vegapunk helped spread it everywhere... ya, the WG dude that knows the Devil Fruit secrets.
I'm suss that the final arc will involve at least a bit of Devil Fruit switching off, or manipulation; and that with their main drawcard nullified, these 'ultimate weapons' are going to have to be used by the Mugiwara. I certainly don't think that they're just going to be forgotten by Oda. Luffy's already best buddies with one ultimate weapon (does he already know the others? I wonder... royal families with it in their bloodlines... places with Poneglyphs... Vivi? Who knows?). We've seen how important the theme of Luffy amassing allies & winning them over to his dream is beginning to become in One Piece.
Yeah. I think he'll find out a fucked up WG secret, they'll find out he's found out, they'll pull out their weapons & kill off his, and he's going to have to rely on a lot of other pals to get the job done.
Luffy using ultimate weapons instead of his own fighting power when he is probably the strongest in the world in some last epic war would be lame.
A big disappointment.

Oda deals with Luffy's strength in many arcs by providing a reason he can't fight until the end. This would be a great one for the final arc. Have something restricting his Devil Fruit power throughout a massive free-for-all. Climactic moment where that something is taken out. Bam. Luffy on his feet. Bashing time.

This doesn't really address what Endorsed was talking about. Your scenario has Luffy using his own strength. Endorsed was talking about a scenario in which Luffy uses an ultimate weapon INSTEAD of his own strength, which would be dumb. I think that an ancient weapon will be used towards the end of the series, and Poseidon may be used beforehand, but I don't think Luffy will use any of them to defeat his enemies.
Wanna know what One Piece is?
This is One Piece
@Ops:
So what do you guys think?
I reckon that in the end its going to turn out luffys crew is 'one piece' as the series is about friendships so it fits in quite well
No this is never in a million goddamn years going to be what it is lolll.
Its gonna be money, the secret of the void century, and uranus.
probably something about dreams. It would fit the whole story.
It's gonna be one piece of some puzzle, after that, they've to find other puzzle pieces lol.
A limited edition model kits from Gundam series…
The secret to the void century is definitely there. Uranus might be there but I think that Dragon has it. There might be some gold and something to do with friendship and dreams.
The one piece will be a penny, nothing luckier than finding a penny….OR.....it could be a really yummy cupcake...cloner. Unlimited cupcakes!
One Piece has been inside us all along. Therefore, whoever finds the One Piece, finds themselves.
wtf
One Piece is the first of many pieces
