Regardless of who people vote for, Magi is an amazing manga that I would recommend to anyone and everyone. I rank it currently as my #2 favorite behind OP, and it's not even really close. I will say that it drags at the beginning, though. I usually tell people that it takes off around chapter 77.
I don't recommend the anime version, though, which not only skips half the story, but changes significant parts of the other half. The manga is far superior.

The list was made by polling everyone on the staff (and Silverblade on the event staff) who reads Magi for their top 10 favorite characters, which amounted to like 6 or 7 people, and then taking the 12 highest scorers. Sorry, but I tried to make it as unbiased as possible.

Aladdin is a good main character, Alibaba has great character development, Morgiana kicks ass and has an interesting backstory, in addition to not being a fanservice character, Amon is a fun old man, Mogamett is an amazing villain, Ugo is just so fun, Sinbad seems a really interesting take on the mentor character and Yunan is just funny and wierd.
