Words can't describe how hilarious this looks.

I agree, many of the trailers look hilarious. I like Tim Burton and Johnny Depp … but as I spent my early teens watching reruns of the original TV show ...this seems too campy. It would take some effort of me to get over the campy factor here to actually watch it.
I'll likely not see it at the theater, maybe by time its out on DVD in the stores my like for the Burton/Depp stuff will override the campy factor. -
I just saw the movie tonight and it was horrible. The pace of the film was all over the place. The film also seemed like it was battling with what characters to focus on and did a horrible job with it. I really couldn't care less about any of the characters. There were also a lot of loose ends where there was build-up for things that did not happen and no build-up for some things that did. There are times where it felt like they forgot about some characters. It felt like they were writing it as they went along. The structure was bad and there were a lot of scenes that just felt like they were there for filling up time.

So it's safe to assume it's about the same as recent Burton works? Good, now I can continue to ignore it.

So it was a typical Tim Burton fi..dammit, OnePark!

The movie looked pretty mediocre based on the trailer that I saw when I went to see The Avengers.
Thanks for reaffirming my suspicions (At least the Frankenweenie remake doesn't look too bad).

So you are basically telling me to stay home and watch Ed Wood (The best Burton/Depp collabo) for the millionth time instead of this movie? Okay.

All the reviews are saying "meh", but I may go see it anyway just for how hammy and silly it looks.

Thanks for that. I was going to take a lady friend of mine to see this. Guess it's down to the Raven or the Avengers.

I saw it last night and I'll confess, I did enjoy it. It was a bit silly and the pacing was off. The end was also very random and confusing. But I couldn't help but like it. Not something that I'd watch again.
I was surprised how dark it was, but I kind of liked that about the movie too. I'm sick of good natured tortued vampires who find away around the murder. Not this guy, he went right ahead and fed on innocents.

That's pretty much how I felt about it as well; it had the typical flaws and strengths of a Tim Burton film and how much you like it will depend on how much you like Depp and Burton. There are a lot of stealth references in it to things like Ed Wood and other films that they've made together.
I wouldn't pay to go see it again and I think that it's a film that you have to be in the right frame of mind for, but it's quite enjoyable if it catches you when you're in that frame of mind.

The Tim Burton trainwreck is still on cruise control.
An enjoyable middle but the worst Act 3 I've seen in a long time. What a confused, weakly acted, soulless movie.
J-Sack is right on the money. -
