Oooh! Fun chapter! Perhaps this explains Bepo's situation now too!
Chapter 661: The Lake of Bandits
-

Well, I also said Magellan being an Admiral would be weird seeing as how he was not even a marine.
However, people convinced me that it could work if Oda wants so. The Marines lost a BIG part of its force after the war with Sengoku, Garp and Kuzan leaving it.
It could be the WG made an agreement with the Marine and "gave them" Magellan as an Admiral to restore part of the Marine's power. It would also be good for Magellan, this way he can leave Impel Down and actively hunt down the escapees. -
Wha??…. Dear God!
[hide][/hide]
All in all great chapter, though hannyabal is the new warden im still optimistic Magellan is out there somewhere using his talents (and he never let himself go that much). Not sure if its like people are thinking and hes an admiral, but i wont say it isnt possible since the navy is short on battle strength. Im willing to bet its like a few others have speculated and hes either gone rogue and left the government or hes tracking down the prisoners on his own terms. I just really hope that doesnt lead to a luffy ass kicking
Anyway its nice to know more of laws true abilities, knowing more about him makes him that much more menacing. I guess those who predicted brownbeard were right, and this has me thinking, could this be the island he tried to claim for himself when he fought hawkins? It did have a kind of crescent moon shape and for all we know it was mangled by their battle so it may have been ursurped by the government after. Man im really eager to see much more of what oda has in store for us
-
I have no idea what's going on and it's driving me insane!!!!
-
I had a ton of fun this chapter. Never would of expected that Bepo being a bear was Law's doing… but what about that lion guy whose part of the Candy Pirates? =X
-
I think the natural opponent of Law is Robin, not Brook as it was suggested, since no matter how much you cut her, she regenerates however she wants…

what were you reading???
-
what were you reading???
Oh, sorry, just speculation, but assuming Law can put people's hearts into other bodies, and the whole animal thing going on that has to do with Law, just putting two and two together, I assume, in one way or another, Law has to do with Bepo being a bear.
-
The chapter was amazing by I hated the Sanji thing… and slowly has to agree with Jabra...
Where is the Sanji who was bad-ass as fuck like in Arabasta, Skypia, Ennies Lobbie... The cook who was potrayed as one hell of an monster close to Zoro's level... Now SOME people are talking about how he wasn't useful and how "weak" he is compared to Smoker/Law and of course Zoro/Luffy
But whatever. Maybe I have to accept it that Oda is using Sanji mostly for comedy now and not like back than being a bad-ass mofo potrayed as close to Zoro…
Zoro and Luffy will get their fights being bad-ass and all... Sanji will stick in Nami's body until Law is beaten... First he had to fight with Jinbe not getting his own fight and now with Nami's tits.
And likeI mentioned before... I can easily see the bounty thing happen and Sanji being trolled again and again and again
-
^ Does a week go by where you don't pointlessly whine about Sanji?
You are right, but my point still stands. Even if his Bounty was 80,060,000 he hasn't accomplished much of anything it seems in the last 2 years, aside from being Shambled by Law.
He's a former pirate. There's really no reason for his bounty to rise.
-
This was a great chapter overall that explained many things, BUT…
The scene that had me rolling on the floor was the Straw Hats switching bodies! I mean, I know this has been done before, but it's never been done in One Piece! This will be hilarious! I'm especially looking forward to Nami in Franky's body and Sanji (I think) in Nami's body? Maybe Nami will finally come to understand the awesomeness of Franky's body?!
-
Magellan does not have to be an Admiral. Remember that in chapter 0 there was a former warden of Impel Down and a former Fleet Commander. The former Fleet Commander Kong later turned out to be Commander in Chief in the current time line. We haven't received word yet of the former warden, who must've been beast to command Magellan.
So now, the thing is we don't know the extent of WG forces outside the marines. We know former fleet commander Kong was promoted to Commander in Chief. The marines are only one branch of WG forces. I'm sure there are some pretty damn powerful people like Kong in the upper echelons of the WG. Considering Magellan was not a marine, it would make more sense for him to be promoted within his branch of the WG to some higher rank…perhaps joining the former warden in whatever role he fills with the WG.
Remember that even CP9 and the Warlords are not under Marine jurisdiction. We really don't know the full extent of WG infrastructure as evidenced by the shadowy person ordering Doflamingo around in the Post-War arc. I'd imagine they have some other people like Kong on par with or stronger than Akainu, Aokiji, and Kizaru. Otherwise, why didn't Dragon just waltz into Marijoa while the entire Marine fleet was preoccupied with Whitebeard?
Also, I don't think Bepo is necessarily a weird mix of bear and human created by Law. Remember that there is also Mr. Pekoms in Big Mom's crew. I think there is likely an island of walking / talking animals. It's not like Mr. Pekoms and Bepo are even the first talking animals we've seen in One Piece (Pappag).

-
? I'm pretty sure Sanji is as badass as ever. Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji are still the monster trio within the crew even after Jimbei joins.
Usopp fought Daruma one on one while Sanji fought Wadatsumi with Jimbei…is Usopp stronger than Sanji and Jimbei? I don't think so. The matchups against the fodder NFP mean nothing. Sanji barely lifted a finger fighting Wadatsumi and clearly would've kicked his ass even without Jimbei's help. Zoro took down Hyozou in one attack. None of the SH's struggled with the NFP. Luffy only had some difficulty with Hodi because they were fighting underwater and he was simultaneously trying to fight, stop Noah from crashing into the island, and protect Shirahoshi.

That's not the point cuz of course he is the 3rd strongest and all… but Oda is overdoing it trolling Sanji or making him looking like an idiot.
What will he do now? Have a fight with Nami's body? No... Zoro and Luffy will get an awesome fight and until Law will be beaten and the effect will go away... Sanji can't do serious stuff.
In Fishmen Island he already had no fight on his own and now it looks bad once again... Ever since TB it is ongoing and that's somehow dissapointing.

Trafalgar Law = Sid?

Is this some sort of Godfather 2 scenario?
-
Magellan's fishing…lol didn't pick up on Godfather Part II thing....is that what you're going for?
-
@metteminne:
Wasn't Brownbeard however fighting with Hawkings ? How did Law get him?
Why is that surprising? Did Brownbeard and Hawkins fought for 2 years? lol. Can't he go to another island after hey fought?
-
Also, remember that on Amazon Lily, Bepo was interested in female bears, not female humans. If he was just a human in a bear's body created by shambles, I don't really think this would be the case.
-
Well the Bepo thing is really interesting… Is he maybe sticked together as well?
And yeah... Brook was damn awesome once again. Ever since the TS he becomes better and better
-
My theorie is Trafalgar is from the Wano Country that's why he cut the samurai!!!!!!

It's always been like this though, luffy and zoro get bounties, the SH rivals, Smoker & Tashigi, Crocodile & Mr. 1, Kid & Killer
the whole thing is no one knows sanji so when his true moment to shine comes, say against an admiral or something people are gonna be like where the fuck did this guy come from
as for people who think zoros way stronger then sanji they usually don't remember all the instances their compared side by side or equally killing something, from little garden till now there's hundreds of examples
My favorite though that is surely no coincidence is sanji's rival being 2180 dourki and zoro's being 2200, is zoro a little stronger yes, but as this would show the difference is that of two fodder marine characters, which means nothing in OP world
and I had put this collection together along time ago, maybe it'll make you feel better

http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/9734/zorovssanji.jpg[/hide]You haven't got my point. That isn't the debate^^ But whatever. Just look at Sanji until TB and than after that… TS made it even worse...
Back than he was the perfect middle of bad-ass and comedy... Now he is mostly comedy (which becomes even annoying from time to time) and only in rare situations bad-ass
-
"boss" FORMER pirate
so Brownbeard is in Laws crew now? =|
!
anybody noticed the change in Brownbeards belt logo/jolly roger–> it was some sort of jolly roger and now it's some sort of wind symbol
-
My theorie is Trafalgar is from the Wano Country that's why he cut the samurai!!!!!!
except that he is from North Blue
-
So how about Brownbeard saying that the Supernovas were the "worst generation"? Does that imply that they were the most destructive, terrible compared to future generations, or just a weird translation?
Anyone possibly different translation of "worst"?
-

Doesn't matter, he could take up being a revolutionary, doesn't mean his bounty has to stop growing. He and his group are obviously up to no good.
-
Oh Zachri, I think you'll be getting you weekly dose of Law for a while:D
I think I've gotten an overdose of Law, seriously.
Not like I'm complaining at all.
But seriously.
If we're flinging stupid theories in the air then I shall highlight this again - one does believe that Hannyabal ate Magellan.
Explains a lot. -
Just realized… was it ever stated that there has to be 3 Admirals? Just because we had a trio before, doesn't mean it always has to be 3.
-

On an island no one is allowed on.
-
Nope. There's no set number of Admirals or Emperors. The only group with a set number is the Seven Warlords.
-
So, I'm guessing Magellan retired?
-

There has to be new admirals in my opinion, but how many, that's an entirely different question.
-
Sanji has had plenty of epic moments since Thriller Bark up until now. Whine whine whine Kishido, that's all you do when it comes to Sanji. It's like it's your own pride that's hurt when Oda puts the joke on him. He threatened Jinbe and can fly, the dude is awesome!
-

Actually… There can be only four emperors. Yonkou. Yon means four

The problem here is that the jokes is mostly what Sanji is about at this point. I've always been kinda indifferent with Sanji, but his personality is even more one-note than it was before.
I personally don't dislike him (yet), he has his moments, but at this point it's becoming kinda obnoxious. -
Law is over confident. And we didn't see Smoker's face but I don't think he'll let this one slip.
-
@.access:

I agree. But- for me at least- thinking who would eventually become an admiral in the actual scenario is really funny.
-
Actually… There can be only four emperors. Yonkou. Yon means four
that really dusnt say much, if there were 5 emperors they would simply be called the "gokou" instead… a naming convention cannot limit their number
-
Yes, but the "Yonkou" are an unofficial group. There are four simply because that's the number of powerful New World Pirates with such authority and influence. If there were only three, they would be the Sankou. There's no official position that must be filled. At the same time, if Luffy became super powerful and influential, he wouldn't bump one of the other emperors out of their position. There would simply be five instead of four and the group would be called the "Five Emperors" instead of the four.

In that regard, doesn't that make Brook the new Sanji since heI joined after TB? XP
But anyway, really enjoyed the chapter. Lots of great panels and characters being just too awesome! Loved Brook's entrance, especially since I thought it might be longer until we got to see him again. And the personality switch I did not see coming! It could end up really cliche, but props to Oda for working that kind of thing into an ability. Who needs side-stories anyway?
As always, looking forward to what happens next!
-

it's not. he had a reason to be 'one-note' in the Fishmen Island for obvious reasons, being a place of his dreams that affected him. he's long back to his regular awesome self. and if you really want it you can say any given Strawhat is extremely one-noted. Suuuuppeerr, anyone ?and i dunno what's to whine about the body swap. they were all caught by surprise and i am sure it's not gonna last, although Sanji was sure the luckiest amongst the four!
-
Crazy awesome chapter.
One thing I'm curious about, though. When Law splits a body into pieces and attaches them to something, does that piece gain control of the thing to which it's attached? Or do all of the pieces remain autonomous and under the control of the person/thing they came from? If a guy is decapitated, is his headless body still under his control? Or is Law able to attach another person's or animal's head to the body and basically give it to someone else?
I'm wondering because all these centaurs seem to be in direct control of their legs, and if Law did in fact mix and match them with his powers, then he really can create Frankenstein's monsters out of anything. By extension, does that mean that Luffy now controls the samurai's legs since they're attached to him? I'd like all this sorted out, because I'm actually inclined to believe that the centaurs are legitimate creatures, possibly created by mad science, and not just by Law's body part swapping. I could most certainly be wrong, but unless the "brain" of the new composite being has direct control over the other pieces that are attached to it, then I can't see how the animal bottoms for all these centaurs aren't just running around willy-nilly instead of following the direction of the people to which they're attached.
Anyway, that's my confused thought of the day.
The rest of the chapter was fantastic, especially the "WARM CLOTHES!!" panel. I like that Law's fruit has been named (and yes, as stated by another poster, it's from the first two katakana of the Japanese phonetic spelling of "operate/operation"). Brook was incredible again, and the body swapping, while cliche, is extremely amusing and I'm looking forward to how all of this will play out next time.
Also, I predict that once the body-swapped Straw-Hats realize what happened, Sanji will have lewd thoughts/actions about being in Nami's body. Nami, as Franky, will take exception, but rather than wanting to mar her own body by attacking and punishing Sanji directly, she'll clock Sanji's body, with poor Chopper taking the damage. Comic shenanigans to order. :D

That and we already know their numbers havent incresed since jinbe already mentioned that they are still only 4 when he referred to black beard as one of them by using the term yonkou as well.
-
@Venomous:
Ah shit son hope my stupid theory isn't true just for you.
Otherwise you have permission to poison my tea.
WITH LOVINS. -
But remember that there has to be "balance". 5 yonkou means more shichibukai, no?
