It's just really fun to see these guys have fun while gaming together and some of their jokes just make me burst out in laughter, and that without being scripted. So I thought that they have deserved their own thread here. :X

Good shit, but I wish they would go back to Zelda. I know there are games which they legitimately (lol jontron) decide on giving up like Secret of Mana, but it's like they just completely forgot about LTTP.

Love these guys. I watch their videos every day. I can understand them dropping games after a while to keep the show fresh, but hopefully they'll return to them at some point, as they did with Pokemon Emerald.

Really hope they get back to Banjo Kazooie.

Also, I hope they'll play more Pokémon Stadium. The mini games were the best thing about the entire game.

I haven't really enjoyed the channel aside from a couple of Kirby videos and Goof Troop. Iunno, I don't think their nearly as funny as when they are scripted, and for the most part a lot of the videos make me dislike them. I was a huge fan of Egoraptor's Sequelitis, but like Game Grump videos on Zelda and New Super Mario Bros kind of crushed a lot of my high opinions of him, and to a smaller extent JonTron; but for Jon its different reasons.

I guess my favourites are the Pokemon Emerald videos, although sometimes it's really hard to believe that Arin played many Pokemon-Games since he oftens forgets basic stuff and uses weird attacks. But the conversations are gold. I'm glad they are releasing new episodes now.
Pokemon Stadium was fun, too. And yes, they really have to play the minigames!

I got super frustrated with the Banjo Kazooie series of episodes. First because Arin was being overly critical of the game within the first 10 minutes of playing. He even declared that Mario 64 had better level layout with only seeing the first 5 seconds of Mumbo's Mountain. Being a guy who is supposedly very in dept with his analyst (Sequelitis) it was just irritating for him to be so quick to judge. Granted he did back off and started to enjoy the game later on.

Then seeing Jon go on for hours about how Banjo Kazooie game is his favorite game ever (mine too) then watch him spend a full episode (10 minutes) trying to figure out where to go next. The fact that was realized as a WHOLE episode is just annoying. They could have easily sped it up, and if there was any comedy gold (wasn't) they could of stopped for the joke, then speed up to where they got.

But with 300,000 views a day (between the two episodes) their making bank. I think a friend of mine says they're probably making $600 dollars a day. Depending on how their Youtube Partnership is set up.

I find Egoraptor amusing, but in his produced videos, not stream of consciousness video game giggle fits.

I like their channel but Jon should realy get back to making more John Tron. And I mean like right now, at this moment.

Jon is finally on a schedule and has produced 3 videos within a month and a half. Not as funny as his older stuff, its still nicer than a video every month.

On a side note, I think it would also be great if Jontron actually post his videos to his OWN website again.

I think this recent surge of popularity really got Jon motivated. I was in the majority by only seeing his Nuts and Bolts video before Game Grumps but he has piqued my interest and I've got my eye on anything he does nowadays. Totally agree about them being bad at the games though. That's kind of a real sinker. I think my most personal peeve would be in the Pokemon episodes, which is just them consistently getting curbstomped by higher level Pokemon because their team is so big that exp gain is too thinly spread. Doesn't help the fact that they keep refusing to evolve their Torchic. I know it's easy to say that "They just don't care" and I'm not doubting that really, but come on. I've lost like 5 times period in the fucking years and years that I've played Pokemon; it's not hard to be efficient. It's a game for five year olds.

Yeah I remember Megaman fans had a similar reaction when Ego kept missing shit in Megaman 7 and then claimed to be a "Mega master".

I also have a peeve over any Brawl video, but then again I'm a huge Brawl/Melee snob. The fact that they would ever play Brawl and be even the least bit competitive really makes me bite my tongue. Brawl sucks, you're bad, and you should feel bad.

Oh shit that reminds me; One other thing I realized quickly is that JonTron is the one that frequently is favoriting and commenting on fan videos, and even responding to comments across various Game Grumps videos. I originally thought it was a big elephant in the room that Ego is so popular on the net, especially nowadays, whereas Jon is well… not so much, but Jon seems overall so much more connected with fans. This isn't really a mark against Ego or anything; millions of people watch his stuff so it's pretty hard for him to connect with them. Of the (granted, few) videos I've seen of him at various cons, he just looks tired, as I'm sure there are hundreds of people running up to him all day asking him shit and wanting him to do his various voices. I guess the moral of the story is that "E-Fame =/= Contentedness" as incredibly fucking obvious as that already was. I just found it interesting that Jon's lesser fanbase is easily rallied and communicated with, whereas Ego's fanbase is a scattered mess (although he does hold panels and stuff at cons, which I totally don't give him enough credit for).

All the internet celebs kind of got together, you can actually see cliques forming. For example, Doug Walker (Nostalgic Critic) is friends with Brentalfloss, Jontron, and Egoraptor (atleast their twitter and facebook imply this). Then you got this

. Who all have a smaller followings but their fans are more concentrated. Being friend with e-stars is the business model to become a bigger e-model. I wouldn't really call it weird, as it is normal. Networking is how you get places.

Continue > Game Grumps

They have a better production, they might not be as famous, but I think they're just as funny; and they also cut out parts that aren't funny (most of the time). So you get nothing but laughs. Game Grumps you have to site through a minute to full episodes without anything interesting happening.

I was really excited when I first seen Game Grumps. The concept is a really good idea. Then, I watched a few episodes. Those 2 talking, is just NOT interesting to me. I dunno, maybe I caught a couple of bad episodes, but I dun even wanna try anymore. It was just too painful to listen to them. $:\$

The whole point of Continue isn't let's plays, its a comedy show which involves three guys playing videos games. Their gimmick is they only play for half an hour and talk about their experience; edit that down into a highlighted 10 minute video. For them to go back to play the game would defeat the point. Some people complained when they did a wrestling game most of the footage was them selecting characters, which again if most of the jokes and entertaining parts was in the character select screen why show the boring parts.

While the other two aren't nearly as funny Nick Murphy (Pixie hoodie and Community referencing guy on the left) is hilarious.

I'm not trying to hate on Game Grumps, I'm happy for them to be able to make 300 a day I and I wouldn't be surprise if they don't record a month's worth of episodes in a weekend. I love Jontron, I would even consider myself a fan-boy I watch the Jurassic Park video like at least once a month. But this show gets way too much praise for being so… what everyone else is doing. Game Grumps is literally the Big Bang Theory of Let's Plays.

I saw one of these and.. it was really just a recording of a bunch of dudes hanging out. I suppose it's like a podcast, but I dunno. It seems subpar and really noisy compared to podcasts I have seen. Also subpar compared to other multiplayer commentaries I seen(I remember seeing one with a group playing Four Sword Adventures, and that was fun).

I prefer the VGA group to Game Grumps (they actually TRY to be good at the games), but when Game Grump's funny, it's really funny, especially the Kirby stuff.

i really like game grumps, probably because i'm a big jontron fan but yeah it's not all good. Their mystical ninja one annoyed me because they had no clue what they were doing and weren''t trying. However the pokemon and goof troop ones were brilliant

Actually, that one didn't really bug me at all, but that's probably because I've never played Mystical Ninja (I actually had to read one of the comments to get that the cat powers up their weapons).
