So I saw the trailer for this movie before Looper today. This really looks fantastic and I don't even really know the story to it. I seriously hope it's some 4 hour long epic though. Apparently it's based on a book, don't know if I'll get around to reading it before seeing the movie.

I seriously hope it's some 4 hour long epic though.
It's close to three hours, and its been getting amazing reviews so far.
The film premiered at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, whereupon it received a 10-minute standing ovation. Review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes reports that 78% of critics have given Cloud Atlas a positive review based on 22 reviews, with an average of 7.6/10 on the website's rating system.
I want to see it, though I worry it might be something that the critics fawn all over that I absolutely hate, like Tree of Life. It doesn't look like that at all, but…

I like that it seems like an uncompromising and lovingly put together adaptation though
Don't see those often with things like this
Looks beautiful if anything

That trailer was simply amazing.
Wow.
I haven't read or even heard of the book, but dang it looks gooood. Let's just hope it'll have a release outside of the states.

It's a pretty good book. Though… It can become...confusing at points, with all the different points in time it jumps to and from.

trailers shouldn't be 5 minutes. I'm intrigued but ambivalent. I don't mind sitting in a chair for 3 hours as long as it's going somewhere and this seems like it's going a lot of places, maybe too many…

This is the extended trailer. There are others that are the traditional 1.5-2 minutes. I would prefer a lot of the time they make the movies long (especially for adaptations) instead of cutting a lot of stuff out. And some movies need to be long.
