Ã„hhh…do you remember when Ace was by Buggy and they celebrated?
Before they celebrated Ace fell aseep (such a phenomen :lol: ), and Moji wanted to kill him, because he recognised him. But Buggy said stopp (and a few other things, but they donÂ´t matter now), anyway Moji/Kabaji asked him why and Buggy answerd because of Whitebeard. Then Moji/Kabaji asked if he knows Whitebeard personally and Buggy said yes.

Question: Why does Buggy know Whitebeard? ;)

Here's what I've thought out so far about that:

One day, before forming a crew, Buggy was walking the streets of a town one night. As he was tuning a corner, he bumped into Whitebeard, who punched him in the chest. Hard. Whitebeard then replied "oh, I thought you were someone else", and walked away.

And that's how Buggy came to know the strength of Newgate.

More proof that Buggy knows a hell of a lot more than he lets on. We don't know yet, but we'll probably find out eventually.

Yeah, Buggy seems to be the villain that knows all, but can't do much about anything. Plus, you need a character like that in a story, a character that you can look to to inform you about stuff at times.

Obviously, Buggy has been places, many places, especially on board with Shanks when they were young.

In chapter 233 in Manga number 25.
But IÂ´m not sure because IÂ´m from Austria - maybe the mangas are a little bit different.

I think pirates would simply know each other â€“ they have the same jobs/interests and are travelling a lot.

In real life people working in a specific area (as in research, arts, show business…) tend to know the work of well known colleagues, correspond with them and sometimes even meet them in person. Even people with special hobbies/interests might know people with the same hobbies/interests from other parts of the world and might meet them if they can afford it.

Pirates who usually don't stay at the same place should know many of their "colleagues". I guess it's just that Luffy and the others are too young to know the other pirates and their habits yet. The older crew members (Zoro, Sanji and Robin, of course) seem know more people (e.g. Zoro had already had contact with the Baroque Works), areas, and customs (e.g. Davy Back Fight).

My question would rather be: Of course, Buggy knows famous Whitebeard, but does Whitebeard know (=remember) Buggy?

probably not because he would have remembered buggy when he punched him and he would have accepted shanks with welcome arms

i watched the anime,i know why buggy not dare to kill ace..i watched in hk subtitles..not sure is it real,but it seems real ..Buggy was saying that,Stop..don't kill him,if we killed him,we're against whitebeard,and he said Whitebeard pirates are a pirate that can't go against with them,he had the strength same as gold.d.roger, and he is very strong,and ace are the 2nd captain in his group,so we'd better not go against with whitebeard…

buggy knows whitebeard because buggy used to be in the pirate king crew (Gold roger) which occasionally fought with whitebeard.
