HI

I became a fan of One Piece fairly recently, having watched every single episode in the span of about two months. I have no plans to read the manga, at least not past the point where the show currently is. I'd personally rather have my first experience with each event in the story be with the anime. Because. Reasons. Also I like terrible puns (My Nickname for Zoro is Mr. Action, because he's very action-y, and if you say it out loud it becomes Misdirection :P) and hamsters (they're totes adorbz) and programming video games (in Gamemaker, but I've been doing it for several years so my games are excell-amazing.). I'm actually not much of an anime fan beyond One Piece. Unless you count Homestuck as an anime, which I don't.

Also, I was inches away from accidentally watching the 4kids dub instead of the english subbed version. So… that's lucky I guess.

Also also I spent way too much time overthinking this post.

Welcome to Apforums, why dont you just watch the manga up until the point you are in the anime?

Yes I am! The biggest disappointment so far has been the death of Hody's hair and beret (see my sig :P (In case you don't get sarcasm that means I wasn't dissappointed by the arc much at all :P)). Hordy's kind of a pathetic villain, he relies on fake power AND manages to be beaten underwater despite Fishmen's general amazingness! I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the Noah. It's not my favourite arc, I was quite fond of the Enies Lobby stuff, but it's still easily one of the best sagas so far. A wish I'm hoping, but not likely to get, is a quick "holy shit I lost… Underwater... To a human... While I was hepped up on power pills" from Hody/Hordy/Whoredy/Fishcakes/Whatever you want to call him.

The next arc is quite likely going to be One Piece's best arc (it's not finished yet in the manga, but in the span of 30 chapters it's managed to completely floor us all).
Pack some acorns in your cheeks, Ham-Star. It's gonna be a long winter.
DISCLAIMER: I am not sure if hamsters eat acorns, but it sounds better than corn.

all I know about it so far is that it's punk hazard, the island is on fire, and there's a pile of trash with an axolotl fruit. I hate spoilers but I'm drawn to them like a moth to flame! Or an insaitiably curious person to spoilers, I guess.
