You mean in movie 4, Gausparde, the Ame Ame Fruit (candy syrup) cause apparently he's quite strong until Luffy got flour, or you're talking about movie 2, that princess girl that can turn into water or something (thats pathetic/useless)

... And, when I think of 108, I think of Suikoden and that... uh... whatever-it-is Chinese star story. It could be a rumor, or Oda might have read the story; dunno what to say either way.

Well the 108 could also come from the buddhist philosophy, of 108 sins or desires a person needs to overcome to reach enlightenment, cuz Oda has included a lot of buddhist shit in One Piece like White Beard's flag and Ace's beads, though it's just an idea

You can find the number '108' in all sorts of Asian stories.

And you can bet that Oda finds the film DFs dumb, since he doesn't consider using them in the story.

Okay I re-watched movie 2 and you know the fat guy who makes spikes and was defeated by Sanji, apparently he had a devil fruit power, but when they first were introduced the fat guy was floating in the water while Honey-Queen was standing ontop of him. How messed is that! The women has the liquid DF but doesn't swim, while the fat guy has the spike DF and can swim.

Also the Bear King had the Hard Rock DF, but yet he can make his arm on fire, this is really a messed up movie.

is there a thread on these boards where someone has actually counted all the one piece DF's in the series? manga or movie? and if not…i wouldnt mind doing it. granted we have a few characters that we have to leave to speculation because they might have DF's that we haven't actually seen. Dragon for instance....

i think arlongpark has all the DF's so far listed in the site. not 100% sure tough, and i'm really curious about this 108 number…. never heard of it and haven't seen it in SBS until the end of alabasta

He never said anything about a fruit. He just said toge toge armor. Strangely K-F said spike fruit but he never said toge toge no mi. And since we also have things as the white white sea in Skypiea I think not everything that is said twice means has to be a Devil Fruit.

@ Zephos: Wow, just 29 characters with Devil Fruit abilities so far? Cool since this is really a small amount of guys compared to how many characters have appeared so far.

I don't think she said water… I think it was simply liquid... besides, it's not water thats their weakness, it's the OCEAN water thats the real weakness... Remember, in One Piece, Ocean water has that one mineral that weakens devil fruits...

Yeah, but notice in the begining we didn't see many devils fruit abilities at all, but they started appearing rapidly once the Straw Hats crossed the grand line. Now you almost have to have a devils fruit ability to be able to be an enemy/ally this high up in the series. (although there are still a few acceptions)

Precicely. If it would be just water then Luffy actually couldnÂ´t have used his DF powers against Crocodile while he was covered in water himself. Or when it was raining in LogueTown none of the four guys, Luffy, Smoker, Buggy and Alvida could have been able to use their powers.
It has something to do with the sea stones, it was even elaborated that they somehow made their way into the white white sea thanks to volcano erruptions and that this is the reason Luffy couldnÂ´t swim in this sea either.

BTW, perhaps I should keep this one for myself but I just feel like saying it know. I think if anybody should ever really have such a thing like the water fruit then it has to be a merman.

I don't know if thats been confirmed or not, since no DF fruit name has been associated with him. But it is apparent that he has above-normal abilities that are more than likely due to a Devil Fruit.

It wasn't confirmed as a Devil Fruit power, although very likely so. The most logical fruit for him to have is one that controls the bones, both of himself and of his enemies.

Did Crocodile eat the fruit to turn him into a croc? Nuh-uh. In fact, his power was pretty far off from anything crocodile-ish since his weakness was water.

Well those scanslations you are refering to really sucked in terms of name giving. Bisoromi Bear wasnÂ´t the only whack naming. Other prominent misnamings are:

Donquixote Doflamingo = Tanjiahdo Lofulamingo

Normally I really donÂ´t like to talk negative about someoneÂ´s effort to contribute something constructive to the fandom but seriously, what must a person smoke to mistake hyena for dachshund. I mean I would have understanding for it if the japanese terms would be almost identical but in the anime weÂ´ve heard how Bellamy pronounced the term hyena and you couldnÂ´t misunderstand it for dachshund especially since weÂ´ve heard Miss MerryChristmas pronounce that in the anime.

I mean what cognitive progress is going through someoneÂ´s mind to even consider dachshund as an adecuate translation? Who ever thinks of this type of dog as anything so negative to fit BellamyÂ´s characteristics?

Since we are talking Devil Fruits, Donflamingo probably has one… probably named Puppet Puppet or Control Control or something like that.

Now... I'm guessing a majority of the Fruits are Zoans, with Paramecia being the second most numerous, and Logia being rarer. The reason I say this is mainly due to the strength of each. That, and Zoans have a small amount of fruit, but a large amount of models. (Such as, Dog Fruit: Model Dachsund and Model Jackal). I wouldn't be surprised to see Model Bull for cow cow fruit, or Model Tiger or something like that for Cat Cat.

But has anyone ever noticed that all of the devil fruits have two syllable names when in Japanese? Gomu Gomu, Bara Bara, Sube Sube, Moku Moku, etc? Kinda makes you wonder what other kinda fruits one can make ^^
