Lets just all be grateful that they resemble the names of the character still, unlike something with Pokemon where Green's name changed to Blue in english translations, while Blue's name changed to Green.

I don't think we can trust wanted posters that much, if Big Mom's wanted poster says Rinrin

Zunisha will join the SHs and be san juan wolf-s match. Villans having size advanatge over the hero is cliche, but the hero with size advantage over the villain is something I want.

While Clark and his brother Clock Dell were awesome, nothing will ever compare to translations from Chinese translations which gave as gems like Xusasu Basasu or Tanjiahdo Lofulamingo.

Xusasu Basasu and Masuru D. Chocheh remain to this day the best thing about OP in my list (I can even finish saying Chocheh's full name without starting to laugh). And they are not even official.

Lets not forget the time that Usopp was called Liar Bo.
That's as almost -but not quite- as bad as Clark Dell. Both look nothing like then name they are suppose to be but at last the 'liar' part hints at which character it is.I remember when I first got into One Piece fanart online. I would look up alternate spellings of names and wondered who the hell Clark Dell and Liar Bo was (this was before I was familiar with Usopp)

Still not as cool as Doula Mongo.

Am I the only one not capable of figuring out, who this
Xusasu Basasu
is supposed to be? -
Clearly Xusasu is the correct spelling of the name known as Jesus.

what color do you guys think Jinbei will represent? Sanji is blue, and Franky is light blue…... what's left for poor Jinbei

Dark blue
Now we have the blue trio, which is ironicaly the 3 best swimmers on the crew
-
Aqua blue. Or something.

We do not need three damn shades of blue just like we don't need three damn swordsmen lol.

I agree, but what else is there?

This. Also, Oda can technically chose to retcon Brook having only black or white instead of both.
And there's a slight chance Oda could go for something out of left-field like, I don't know, silver and gold. But that's a long shot I very much doubt.

that might make sense, Jinbei is part of the sun pirates, so that could be gold

Vivi's color is white gold, so metals might actually be a possibility. Or he wanted to choose something very obscure to not take away from the real Straw Hats' color themes lol.

Gray. I often tend to avoid color theories for strawhats but Jinbe strikes me as the one person that could really own that color.
I've seen the Murigawa 56 color spread brought up several times as there are 2 colors in the rainbow not represented in the Strawhats. I know Zoro's color is green but in the color spread the rainbow has both a chartreuse green and a sea green. Zoro himself gets compared to a moss ball and I don't think I've really seen him represented with bright, lime green colors. His "greens" are usually more olive or sea-green. So I wonder if "green-yellow" like Chartreuse Green/Lime Green is an available Strawhat color. Call is "light green" or something.
Also there's an indigo in the color spread while the violet/purple next to it seems closer to Robin's outfit.

Robby strongly criticizes gray as a Straw Hat color due to Brook already having black-and-white. Due to experiences in comic book coloring, he says that the issue with gray color theory wise (I don't mean theory as in a One Piece theory but as an overall practice and aesthetic) is that it either leans toward looking white or black. It doesn't often do a good job of contrasting well.
Maybe a different shade of green can work. Not sure.
-
Just look at SMoker. His color is white basically. "White smoke" is even in his codename. And yet, it's absolutely grey. The marine uniforms are pretty solidly white.
Unless you do a piercing white or solid black, anything inbetween is going to be grey. SO having something be default "grey" is just going to be muddy and hard to look at.
Hair color wise, the colors missing are red (never gonna happen cause Shanks), purple, white, pink and brown. Robin is generally put into purple colors, and Chopper's kind of covers brown and pink already. Assuming the last one doesn't just have black hair, or a color that skirts close to someone else's… white is basically the only option really truly left. Rooting for a granny!

The biggest problem in trying ot make that distinction is in the manga, Oda gives Zoro a nice grass green, while the anime gives him some horrific neon thing. That distinction would be a little rougher for the anime to make. They actually got Bartolomeo's color closer to what Zoro should have.

! Pudding can cover brown.

Let's see how Oda handles her whole relationship with Sanji.
Seeing how she might be his end game love interest, I can't see her joining for good, if she ever did it be temporary.

Did we just debunk jinbe joining with color theory? :ninja:

Nice job Robby :ninja:
I'm joking btw.

Glad Jinbe's finally out so that I can get my bunny boobs then.
-
Oh Artemis, get your facts straight. We all agreed that they join both.

Never! If Jinbe would join instead of another female, it were two boobs less!

Why not both? Luffy seems ok with it.

I hope we throw away the colors then. Give everyone uniforms.

Carrot getting overshadowed by Chopper and Brooke as a lookout.
-
It's almost as if looking through ordinary binoculars isn't really a special skill or talent, and neither is being able to get to the crow's nest!
-
Now I don't support Carrot4nakama, but to be fair, they went this long without a designated helmsman without any issues, letting whoever steer the ship.
-
Their ship got destroyed quite a bit along their travels. As important as it was for them to have a shipwright, having a proper helmsman would help guarantee that the ship took less damage. It might not have been as evident as Franky's position, but it was still an afterthought. Not to mention the statements that can be used. Which is turning now into Jimbe taking the ship to this new dawn, for his race and the world.

Yea, as dope as Jinbe's skills apparently are, if they had made it through the entire series without an official helmsman, I never got the impression that the fanbase would riot or something. This was just simply the most obvious thing for Jinbe to be doing once he joined the crew. But I guess hindsight is 20/20…
This is basically a position that only really matters when Oda wants it to matter. Now yea, you could kind of, sort of say the same thing with stuff like doctor, chef, or navigator, the difference is that Luffy explicitly wanted these roles in his ship. Oda made it clear that if a crew doesn't have people performing these roles, then they're pretty much fucked. (Barring Barto's crew regarding navigation, though that's done for the lols) So even when Sanji isn't actively cooking, or Chopper isn't actively tending to his patients, it's like, well no shit a crew would need someone to feed them, as well as someone to tend to their injuries or when they're sick. That should always be on standby. Helmsman position on the other hand? Not so much. Oda never really positioned it as this role that the crew would one day absolutely need, though you could easily make assumptions about it being helpful nonetheless. Everything that was absolutely vital (navigator, chef, doctor, and shipwright) was acquired before the timeskip, as it should be. This is just icing on the cake. That said, obviously with Jinbe's inclusion, moving forward he's now going to introduce more and more scenarios where it turns out that the Straw Hats should be glad as hell that Jinbe is joining.

Jinbe and/or the Fishmen specifically brought up the dawn before?
-
Well Jimbe gave his speech about how he believes that by following Luffy the differences between Fishmen and Humans can be shortened. With Pedro talking about the new dawn, and knowing that the Final War and the One Piece will shake the world's foundations, I think these two messages are intertwined. Jimbe will be steering the ship that will lead to the new world and at the same time achieve his racial unity goal, I find it is a nice connection.
-
Ah okay, I was just wondering.
-
I think the reason why some still don-t accept jimbei and want someone like carrot is because he is this old serious dude. And there is enough serious zoro and serious robin going on already. Now with jimbei the two sides are more balanced, serious vs fun group. Sure, they may have some rare funny moments here and there, but they are not full wacky mode like luffy, franky, usopp all the time or even sanji these days since perversion side took over completely post ts.
-
Never got why people got so hung up over Jinbe's personality, especially with acting as if that's going to magically erase how obvious it was that he was eventually going to join. It doesn't matter who you are, no one is immune to the Straw Hat's rhythm.
No one.
Whatever Oda plans on doing with him regarding the group dynamic, I never saw any cause to worry.
-
Right now I cannot accept Jinbe, however as I only care for boobies and not for such obsolete stuff as personality or character chemistry, I'd be fine if and only if Ivankov turns him into a woman.
Because Barracuda Boobs.

I think it's more that Robin and Zoro have more interesting personalities fleshed out beyond their seriousness. Robin has this motherly, intellectual, and creepy side to her. Zoro has his training, bickering, and love of a challenge. Jinbe is just plain serious and never anything else. He's boring. I don't need him to have silly gags or anything, but I can't imagine him relaxing and having a casual conversation with Chopper or Franky.

Popping back in to ask, who said they want someone like Carrot instead of Jinbe lately? Jinbe's been a foregone conclusion for months if not for years. People are thinking of the 11th member after him, as far as I can tell.
