@BeariousJones:
How is Pedro forgettable? And I mean universally forgettable not just forgettable to you.
He's a heavily generic side character.
Give Pedro time…sheesh.
No YOU give the 800 other side characters that constantly show up time, geez! How inconsiderate! All these countless other equally if not more notable people that we could give completely random attention for no reason and act like other people are crazy to ignore! Just Pedro? Really? Open your eyes to the possibilities.
Minkmen were in the Zou transition arc which is only like 20+ chapters.
I don't know why you're telling me this thing, but I know it has nothing to do with anything.
Strawhats, Heart Pirates, Jack, Kaido, Sanji, Big Mom, Red Road Poneglyphs, Raftel, Ninjas, Kouzuki Clan, Marco, etc… along with ALL the Minkmen competing for panel time.
And amid all these shattering revelations and exciting reveals, you chose some random boring background guy to focus on?
Somethings and people had to take a backseat.
Much like how Jimbei took a backseat during all the millions of things going on when we first met him.
Oh wait no he was clearly given prominent sympathetic focus from the moment we saw him.
But now as of chapter 822 Pedro, Carrot, and Pekoms are now going to the Tea Party arc which will be guessing at least 50+ chapters concentrated on 4 Strawhats and those 3 Minkmen plus 2 other Strawhats later.
See a normal person reading the chapter would already have gleaned that Pedro, as a super unimportant tertiary character, is being sent on the errand as a sort of tool to push some of the characterization that Pekoms, a secondary character, will receive in the process. Pedro might as well be just a plot device used for Pekoms.
Minkmen will also be in the gigantic Wano arc as well. Pedro has PLENTY of time to become memorable…maybe even for you.
When will he have time to broadcast even 1% of the indicators of a new main cast member?
Pedro is the biggest argument against Pedro…what does that even mean?
That his character is really obviously unimportant and even more obviously not going to join the main cast.
And now these "tertiary" and "background"characters you speak of will be "primary" characters now in this 7 member team.
No they're still tertiary characters. Pekoms (someone with personality and probably a little back story of some sort) is a secondary character.
The Strawhats are the primary characters.
1. Our main cast. (Luffy, Nami, Chopper)
2. The fun characters who they meet and interact with on some involved level. (Pekoms, Momonosuke, Cat and Dog)
3. The background flavor characters that mostly exist to carry the water for plot events and other people's characterizations. (Pedro, Carrot, Wanda)
And an eye test of talent helps with piecing a part of a character together.
Literal abilities have nothing to do with characterization. And obsessing on them reveals a huge lack of understanding how Oda operates.
Third swordsman being too many doesn't hold weight if the third swordsman is as much of a swordsman as Brook.
Brooke, the talking musician skeleton with an afro? Wonder what else he added to the cast…
Third swordsman would be THE insert role and different sword and martial arts fighting style
So remind me again why you think this random guy you've described with fill in the blanks is clearly a candidate for the main cast?
Great news my mind will be broken? Nah…that's not happening.
The great news for him is Pedro will not join the crew.
Well I hope you still like them still by the end of the Tea Party arc.
He's sad that once again fun little side characters are going to be ruined by obsessive fanatics trying to inflate them to enormous size.
