What was so special about it? It was a pretty apt summary of the entire series; bland and cliche'd to heck, and it even had the gall to rip off All-Stars DX3.

Black Hole was the villain in DX3 and he was a super-god entity made from the darkness of all prior PreCure enemies. He looked like he sounds. Pierrot also went all giant space vortex at the end of 47.
The animation was good, but it wasn't as good as the first season finale when the Cures invaded the Bad End Kingdom.

Wow this thread is beyond dead, well i thought i'd bump it with my reviews of the recent episodes. So as it turns out there is a 5th cure that joined group called cure ace she appears to be older then the rest of the girls but in her cilivilian form she's very short and younger lookin i'd say about 11-12 ish. She's the strongest cure out of all them and appears to be there to kind of mentor to the girls help whip them back into shape as for her true idenity it's not fully revealed yet. The past two episodes (24 & 25) have been solo episodes (23 mana,makato 24, alice 25) to get the girls resolve back and next week is rikka's turn. So far dokidoki has been solid there many plothole and unbalance but i like that thy're focusing more on the plot this time around oh and cure ace has the best transformation.

Fresh was the last Precure season I finished just a few months ago and characters and plot advancement felt more natural.Fresh is under-rated, a lot of people bashed it back in the day but thankfully with full subs people are recognizing it as pretty good.
Doki suffers from not having interesting fights with bland battles. Suite PreCure, to its credit (I haven't seen it personally; hearsay) had good battles, and while Smile was thoroughly retarded a show it was entertaining in that regard.
All Doki has is moe…a ridiculous, myocardial infarction inducing lethal dose of moe, but moe nonetheless. The characters are OK development wise but as you note Fresh was far superior.
If I'd rank the series, HeartCatch > Yes 5 > Fresh > Splash Star > Doki > GoGoGo > Futari wa > Max Heart > Suite >>> Smile
Numerically, HC is like a 9, Yes 5 an 8.5, Fresh an 8, Suite like a 3 and Smile a 0.

So just finshed watching episode 42, doki doki for me has been dragging on and on. Like one person on here said it's too moe filled and the battles are boring as hell. Another thing is mana is constantly stealing the spotlight and its tiresome not to mention the whole thing with aguri/cure ace, and it feels like toei is going all over the place being in cosistent with the plot storylines.

True, this has got to be one of the weakest seasons so far (Max heart says hi). Happiness Charge designs remind me of Aikatsu as well, I hope it is not a season that tries to mimick its success.

Doki's inconsistent is what. It has good episodes and bad episodes, but there's a war of writers going on. We have the Smile writers interfering and the other guys from Fresh-HeartCatch trying to take the plot in other directions. It really shows.
Smile remains the worst season, Max Heart might have had a weaksauce plot but it still had the iconic and powerful Futari wa characters. Smile had a garbage plot and garbage characters.
Don't have a lot of hope for Happiness Charge. I'm going to let it percolate for a while like Suite before daring to try it.

I have yet to watch smiile or suite because i keep on hearing lots of negative reviews on them. And i agree doki's problem is its inconsistenancy and terrible fighting and battles, what they should've did was gone the more plot orientated route but add comedy when needed to help balance it all out. As for happiness charge i like the designs so far but won't get my hopes up. I do want it to be like heartcatch 2.0 but without as much filler

I kinda like Smile because the concept behind it is more that of a SoL comedy and it actually works when you look at it this way. The theme's CRIMINALLY wasted on it, though.
The Smile movie is pretty good, though.And I agree, we need more fistfights and hotblooded action instead of overusing bad stock footage in the next season. And a good writing team.
