Garth Marenghi's Darkplace is an absolutely amazing UK show that aired back in 2004 and that I saw for the first time today, and I bet most of you have never even heard of. It's six episodes long and every episode is simply amazing.
I don't know how to explain it. So here's the best I can do: it's a show that tries to be so bad it's good that it actually succeeds. There are gaping plot holes, horrible continuity, terrible line reading, ridiculous story, and acting that is beyond cheesy, yet all of it works, and combines for one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. The jokes come at a frantic Simpsons-style pace so if one's a dud, another will land just seconds later.
Just check out this amazing title sequence:
The best part? T****he entire show is available on Youtube, along with all the DVD extras, which are just as great
So I beg of you, give the first episode a chance. I probably haven't done a very good job of selling it, so I hope you give the show a chance to speak for itself.
Here's Episode 1: "Once Upon a Beginning"
